This is book 2 in the detective Marcy Kendrick series I’d say this book could be read as a stand alone thriller however having read the first book I felt I got more from this read.

Marcy and her partner Angel are called out to the suspected murder of Audrina Dixon, she was set alight and pushed over the balcony in attempt to land in the pool below. With only her twin boys as witnesses Marcy knows she needs to get the boys talking, however both boys have gone mute on them.

With pressure on her to solve this case Marcy knows she has no choice but to get the boys talking in order to solve this case, however as Marcy digs deeper and deeper into this case and learns more about the boys, their family and their past shocking truths come out.

I enjoyed reading blood line however I very quickly worked out who was behind the murders and at times I found it a little predictable, that being said there were also plenty of other twists and turns within this book that I didn’t see coming which made for an exciting read. I always know I’m in for a treat when I pick up a Theo Baxter book.

Blood Line is the 2nd book in Theo Baxter's exciting, fast paced Detective Marcy Kendrick series. This is one of those series that just pulls you in. I didn't want to put the book down until the very end.
LAPD Homicide Detective Marcy Kendrick's most recent case is giving her a run for her money. A famous heiress has been murdered and everything is pointing towards her twin teen sons as the murderers but Marcy isn't so sure. But her lieutenant, her ex husband, is pushing her to arrest the boys before she finishes her investigation. Will she be able to solve the case before anymore problems arise?

I am so glad I picked up this series.

The working relationship between Marcy and her partner Angel is one where you never have to worry who has your back.
I love how they can laugh and be playful yet still know they have a job to do and will do it well.

My daughter is a detective and I know the relationships she has with her coworkers means everything in her line of duty and she trusts them 100%.

Fast paced and exciting police procedural featuring Detective Marcy Kendrick and her partner Angel. A good read.

Another 5 star read!! I absolutely love this series and I can't wait for the next one. Happy to see Angel back at work and working closely with Marcy. This one kept me on my toes with all the twists and turns. Jordan is Jordan and needs to have a big dose of Karma and the captain needs to be a CAPTAIN!! Can't wait for the next book. Oh, and it may be insensitive, but I'm ready for her to get over Henry.

Another incredible book in this series. I read the first not so long ago and loved it just as I did with this one. Once again the twists were mind blowing and we got to know so much more about Marcy. I need a next book to read In this series!

Book 2 in Detective Marcy Kendrick series and this book is a brilliant read and as good if not better than book 1.

This is the second book in Theo Baxter's Marcy Kendrick series. This was an excellent read as was the first one. Marcy is a detective on the LAPD and is still searching for a serial killer. A mom is killed with only her 2 14 year old sons as witnesses. However they develop trauma induced mutism. Or do they? They are being accused of murder. Marcy needs to step up the game to find out what is going on.

The author did a great job with character development of both Marcy and her partner, Angel. I finished this book in one sitting, it was just that good. I never would have guessed the ending. The writing was superb and the author made you want to keep reading. The twists were spectacular. I absolutely loved this and cannot wait for the next in the series.

Marcy is still coming to terms with the loss of Henry. When she returned back to work, she catches a case of the death of an Instagram influencer. Everything, about this murder did not make sense. Marcy and Angel (her partner) are trying to find the real murderer.
This story had many twist and turns. How did the murder really occur? Who was really responsible? To answer these questions you must read the book.
I really enjoying this series. I can’t wait for book 3!

I made a mistake and didn’t notice that Blood Line was book 2 in a series. The beginning of this book was devoted to tying up loose ends from the first one so I couldn’t get into the story until that was done. Once it got underway, however, I found it was well worth the wait.

This was a very good detective story with a pleasingly unusual plot, and interpersonal relationships similar in style to a Karin Slaughter novel. The two main characters, Marcy Kendrick and Angel Reyes, whose background stories were developed in the first book of the series but are also brought up to date in this book, are faced with solving a possible murder/suicide with few clues on first reading. A woman has died and the only two witnesses to her death are her fourteen year old twin sons who have been rendered mute and are unable to be questioned until they can become capable of speech.

There is intrigue and lots of action as Marcy and Angel follow a particularly disturbing line of inquiry. Romantic tension is always there in the background as well, to keep things interesting.

I found this a very satisfying read and I will look for Skin Deep, the first book in the series as it looks like a lot has happened in the lives of Marcy and Angel and all the supporting characters in the story to get to where they are now.

I’m happy to have discovered Theo Baxter!

There were twists and turns that I could have never guessed. The plot took an unexpected, but intriguing, turn. this was a great procedural thriller.
