I flew through this book. It was so very in-put-down-able. The story and characters came alive. A faster read than the autor’s other books. The ending felt a little rushed and didn’t make too much sense, but the first 90% of the book makes up for that.

I found this to be a very melancholy story, from the actual plotline to the characters. But thats what made me love it. I could not put it down. You might think in the end that you know, but you have no idea!

I love Shari Lapena’s writing, so I was excited to receive this ARC! I read it in a day, and was fairly invested in the mystery. I will say, this wasn’t my favourite book by Lapena, but I did enjoy that it took a while to determine how all the many characters played their parts in the overall plot. I look forward to the author’s next book!
Thank you NetGalley and Penguin Random House Canada for an ARC of this novel!

This was a YA book in my opinion . Middle and high school students dealing with life in a small community. There is the typical bullying , possessive relationships, jealousy, and teenage secrets that come with that age group. Alongside this there are grown ups who have their own issues like extramarital affairs, an unhealthily attraction to young girls , and every day life issues . The book is an easy read with all characters being guilty of something but only one of murder.

Fairhill, Vermont is a safe, sleepy town until a local teen is found murdered in a farmers field. Diana was well liked and had no enemies. Who killed her and why?
The police quickly suspect her clingy and secretive boyfriend. Other possible suspects include her grody gym teacher and a leering customer who stalks her at work. The story takes many twists and turns so you can never really be sure who took her life.
Overall, I enjoyed the story. I felt it was well paced, it kept my attention throughout and I enjoyed the supernatural aspects. The only reason that I didn't award more stars is because I figured out the killers identity long before the big reveal.

What Have You Done? - Shari Lepena
The town of Fairville is a very quiet town, a town where people feel safe, a town where people leave their doors unlocked, a town where you can walk down the street at night with no worry. Everything changes in instant when Diana Brewer is found dead in a hayfield.
As police interview the ones closest to Diana, it's safe to say everyone has secrets they're trying to hide.
Diana's boyfriend keeps leaving out imperative details about his whereabouts that evening. Joe Prior, Diana's stalker, lies about an alibi. And Diana's complaint about her high school gym teacher comes to light.
As everyone tries to cover their tracks and keep the pieces of their lives together, Diana's friends never give up hope that the killer will be found.
I think at this point I have read all of the Shari Lapena novels and I don't think there are any that I haven't devoured. As with all her books, What Have You Done is an easy read with a storyline that keeps you wanting more. This one specifically really kept me guessing and on the edge of my seat. Nothing is as it seems. It you're looking for a thriller to start off spooky season, add this one to your list! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5!

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC

In October, in Fairhill, Vermont, Roy Ressler while driving his tractor down the road, spots some vultures feeding on a carcass and he goes over to the hayfields to take a look. But what he sees is a naked teenager, a girl who he recognizes as, Diana Brewer.

The police arrive at the scene and state that the victim had been strangled and had been murdered.

Previously, Diane and her boyfriend, Cameron, and best girlfriend, Riley and friend Evan, often met in the cemetery telling ghost stories. Recently, Diana and Cameron had started to leave out Riley and Evan out of their plans, which caused some resentment especially from Riley.

When Riley’s texts went unanswered…she knew something wasn’t right. When the police confirmed Diana’s murder to Riley, she was surprised to hear that Cameron was a suspect. He was the last person to see her!

Riley knew that Diana wanted to breakup with Cameron, she was planning to attend a different University to pursue a Veterinary degree.

There were other suspects being considered, including a person who was stalking her at work as well as a PE teacher accused of inappropriate conduct.

“What have you done? Everyone wants answers…

This was a well written suspenseful novel that will have you glued to your seat to the very end.

Many thanks to the author, Penguin Random House Canada and Netgalley for my digital copy.

Thank you to NetGalley, Shari Lapena, and Penguin Random House Canada for an ARC copy of What Have You Done.

I absolutely loved this book! From the very first page, What Have You Done pulled me into the sleepy town of Fairhill, Vermont, and didn’t let go until the final twist. What starts as a peaceful, close-knit community quickly unravels into a tense and chilling mystery when the body of Diana Brewer is found in a hayfield, setting off a chain of events that had me hooked from start to finish.

Shari Lapena masterfully creates an atmosphere of suspense and paranoia, making you question every character and their motives. The twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat, and I found myself unable to put the book down—I read it all in one day!

The way the story builds from a seemingly quiet town into a place of fear and suspicion is brilliantly done. Every chapter ends with a cliffhanger that made me want to keep reading, desperate to find out who was responsible for Diana’s death and how far the secrets of Fairhill go.
If you enjoy a good mystery with plenty of twists, this is definitely the book for you. It’s gripping, fast-paced, and full of surprises. Highly recommended!

Shari Lapena has done it again with What Have You Done?! This book was absolutely wonderful and had me reading into the wee hours to see what was going to happen next. In a small town where nothing ever happens, Diana Brewer is found dead in a farmers field, naked and being eaten by vultures. The police investigation takes them through a string of suspects to keep the reader guessing right to the end.

This book is told from the perspective of many of the towns residents. I really enjoyed getting the different angles and trying to decide who the killer was and what their motive was. As the story unfolds and you see into the lives of so many characters, the story takes on a life of its own and I found myself obsessing to find time to keep reading.

Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Random House Canada for this advance copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

Shari Lapena is the queen of mysteries and she has done it again. The book is set in sleepy little Fairhill,Vermont. Nothing ever happens in this little sleepy town until the body of Diana ia found dead in a hayfield. How does a town where nothing happens to do? Thrilling,fast-paced,great plot and well written.

In sleepy Fairhill Vermont, a farmer is tending to his crops when he notices some unusual bird activity in one of his fields. He decides to investigate only to stumble upon a gruesome discovery: the half naked body of local high schooler Diana Brewer. Thus begins the novel, What Have You Done, by Shari Lapena, a mysterious and twisty tale of a small town where everyone knows Diana and anyone of them could be a suspect.

I enjoyed how the author portrayed many of the different archetypes of small town life: the popular girl, the jock boyfriend, the local farmer, the inexperienced local police, the single overworked mom, the overly involved principal, the creepy drifter, the tag along friends, and the lecherous teacher. We’ve met them all before but in this book we get to peer inside each of their heads through their own POVs, and discover that any one of them has the motive to be the murderer. Shari does such a great job of planting these multiple red herrings throughout the story, leaving you guessing until the very end! I found this to be a fast paced story with short chapters, a variety of intriguing characters, and I also loved the supernatural element of Diana’s spirit watching over the proceedings as it all came to dark fruition.

This was my second Shari Lapena novel after The Couple Next Door, and I will continue to read and recommend her thrillers to friends and family.

Thank you NetGalley, Penguin Random House Canada - Doubleday Canada, and Shari Lapena for the early access copy of What Have You Done.

What Have You Done is the story of a small town community, shaken by the murder of Diana Brewer. The story is told through multiple points-of-view of those closest to Diana. Shari Lapena does a fantastic job of clearly identifying which character is actively narrating through different font styles and tones of voices. With large cast of characters that are intriguing to follow, the whodunit style mystery of who murder Diana will keep readers invested.

Thank you Penguin Random House and netgalley.

Shari Lapena is an autobuy author for me. She is the one who got me into the Psychological Thriller genre. She has become the master of small town mysteries. What Have You Done? Starts off with a female high school teen being found n*ked and unalived in a farmers field in a small town. Everyone has secrets and this one keeps you guessing until the very end. There is also a ghost like element in this book which the author hasn’t explored in previous novels.

A fast-paced, page turner that hooks you right away. I read it in one sitting. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

Shari Lapena is the queen of domestic thrillers. Her ability to write a whodunnit is second to none!

When high school girl Diana Brewer is found dead in a farmer's field, the entire town wants answers. But there are far more questions than answers! Was it the boyfriend? The teacher? The creepy stalker? Or someone else entirely?

I love Shari Lapena's writing. It's quick and jam packed with action and suspense. If you want deep character driven plots, you might want to look elsewhere. But if you want a book you can binge in a day, here you go!

There are a lot of characters in this book. Like, a LOT. It took a bit to be able to keep everyone straight in my mind. And ultimately, I think there were some characters who didn't need to have a POV and could have just been mentioned. The ending felt a bit rushed and I didn't love the motive the killer had for killing Diana.

I knew who did it early on in the book. Not because it was obvious, rather I have read so many thrillers that it just made sense for me. But there are so many people that could have done it, you are definitely guessing right up to the end. The touch of paranormal had me slightly concerned I wouldn't like this book, because I generally don't like thriller books with paranormal elements to them. The way it was done didn't detract from the enjoyment of the story for me, however, I didn't find that the paranormal elements added anything to the story either.

This is a solid thriller and I definitely recommend it, especially if you like:
- Quick, short chapters
- One sitting reads
- Lots of POVs
- A touch of paranormal
- Whodunnit with a LOT of suspects

I really enjoyed this one, I binged the entire book in one day. I’ve only read a few other Shari Lapena books and none of them are perfect but they’re still enjoyable. This one is about a high school student that’s found murdered and the investigation of her friends, there’s multiple POV’s including the ghost POV which I thought was interesting. There were a lot of twists and turns and even though it was a little predictable and I correctly guessed who the murderer was I still enjoyed it a lot. If you liked any of Shari Lapena’s other books you’ll like this too, but if you’re looking for a completely original murder mystery this won’t be it.

Thanks to NetGalley, Penguin Random House Canada, and Shari Lapena for this e-ARC

This book about a teenage girl who was murdered and follows her friends, family, potential suspects, as well as the girl herself watching things unfold kept me interested throughout trying to figure out whodunit, but I found the climax very dull.

Another solid book from this author! I always try to guess how the book will end and sometimes I’m right but not often. There were a lot of suspects to choose from for this who done it murder story. I like how the book flows quickly and it’s easy to read in a day. Overall another intriguing plot!

This is my third read by this author and I enjoyed the others so this one was highly anticipated but ultimately not the best. I was very intrigued and was able to fly through the pages in a few days. I am an avid thriller and mystery reader so I was able to predict who the killer was but I still enjoyed the novel and thought it was well done. It was a bit confusing since there were about ten povs though. I liked the element of paranormal with a pov from the spirit of the victim. I recommend reading trigger warnings as there is some controversial content involved. 3.5/5 stars

Nothing bad ever happens in Fairhill, Vermont…

That is until a farmer discovers the body of a teenage girl in one of his fields. The town is shocked by the news, this is a town where no one locks their doors. As the investigation is under way, many towns folks become suspects as secrets are uncovered and lies come to light.

I binged What Have You Done, it's an entertaining, fast paced thriller with paranormal vibes told via several POVs including the victims'. That aspect blew me away, I wasn't expecting it and loved it. I did feel a bit overwhelmed keeping track of all the characters that were introduced early on. It took a bit to get the hang of it but once I did, I binged it in a few short hours.

With each POV it seems most people have something to hide. While I suspected the murderer part way in, the writing style had me not fully convinced until about 3/4th in as I kept flipflopping.

I really enjoyed this thriller!
