This was a very good mystery/thriller. Told from multiple perspectives, there was a lot happening.
However that being said, I never got bored and I was constantly turning the page to see what was going on next.

This is going to be a great summer read for those thriller lovers!

Thank you to NetGalley, Penguin Random House Canada, and Doubleday Canada for providing this book, with my honest review below.

I Died on a Tuesday by Jane Corry had such an interesting premise that I was eager to read it and understand the mystery. In many ways it delivered on my curiosity, giving me a complex mystery, but in others I got perhaps multiple books in one.

We start with Janie, a young girl about to set off to London to join the publishing world with big dreams to be a writer one day. She is sad to leave her father since her mother isn’t in their lives, but so eager to get on her way. After her routing morning swim she is biking home when she is a victim of a hit and run, left in a coma and then speechless and paralyzed, a shell of the younger eager and energetic woman setting out to begin adulthood in earnest.

We then jump twenty years in the future when massive pop star Robbie, known as the family man, the rare star who hasn’t lost a sense of his humble roots, is arrested for the crime. While it’s clear he was the driver of the van, as the court trial proceeds we learn there were other players adding complexity to the crime. Vanessa, acting as witness support, also plays a part with supporting Janie and gets embroiled in the mystery, as does her friend and the judge on the case.

While the mystery and struggle for Janie was well written and pushed emotional buttons, there was so much happening, so many side plots, that eventually the tragedy of what happened to Janie and why the ‘villain(s)’ stayed buried for twenty years was still compelling, it was pushed to the background. I enjoyed the sub plots but the main tale would have shined brighter on its own and been more impactful.

I recommend this, it packs a punch, but would also say it may work best for those who get bored with a single story line and truly enjoy keeping up with several.

Thank you Netgalley, Penguin publishers and Jane Corry for the advance copy of his book.

Twenty years ago, Janie White was the victim of a devastating hit and run. She miraculously survived. However, the person responsible was never found. Twenty years later, Robbie Manning, a famous singer, is arrested for the hit and run. Vanessa, a court support worker, supports Janie as she testifies in court.
.
This book is mostly written from Janie, Vanessa and Robbie’s point of view.

I enjoyed this book and found the story
interesting.
