I read a pre-release copy of this book for an honest review from NetGalley.

I enjoyed following along with each character, wondering if somehow they would merge together. I loved that by the end you learned of each character’s flaws. At times it felt that the book was long but I felt it all ended up being worth it. An excellent story!

The premise of the book is what intrigued me and I was expecting a gripping thriller that had me turning the pages. Unfortunately, that is not what I got. I really wanted to enjoy it but it ended up being something different than I expected. I found this book to be really slow and dry. The chapters were super short and the timeline bounces around which could be appealing to others but did not work for me. It lacked engagement for me and I couldn’t feel any connection to the characters.

Thanks to the publishers, Netgalley and Jane Corry for the ARC. I had to DNF this book because the writing felt juvenile & I knew that I wouldn't enjoy it after reading the first 5%.

I had this on my wish list as Chapters and then I discovered the ARC on NetGalley and requested it and I was so happy to be approved! The description of the book hooked me. But what a disappointment.

I lost track of how many times I rolled my eyes. There were so many unbelievable parts and so much naivety with a couple of the characters that it was sometimes a struggle to read. The writing was also very simplistic and not engaging.

Some of my issues with this book:

-The behaviours of characters in this book changes so fast that it’s like watching one of my BPD episodes.

-The prison scenes are unbelievable. I understand that it was a hit and run of a young girl, and people are understandably upset, but the level of hate is excessive and usually reserved for the worst of the worst.

-Vanessa is delusional and gullible.

-Why is the DEFENCE barrister questioning him like she’s the prosecutor? Because there was ZERO indication that the defence was done with their questioning. I re-read it three times just to make sure.

I will admit that I kept turning the pages because there were little mysteries and chapter cliffhangers and I really did want to know what was going on.

One part did get to me though. My heart broke for Big Jim 😢 (you’ll understand when you get there).

While it was a little rough getting used to the layout of the book, the plot was really interesting and easy to follow. While some things were predictable, there were things that still surprised me! Overall, a very solid 3/5.

They always say there's two sides to a story but not really. In I Died on a Tuesday, there's three sides! After a terrible accident, we learn the different perspectives of those involved. Lot's of twists and turns that kept me hooked!

I received I Died on a Tuesday as an ARC from NetGalley. I really enjoyed reading this book. The twists and turns kept me on edge. I read another review that mentioned how busy the last third of the book is. I absolutely agree. More secrets seem to come from nowhere while the author tries to wrap everything up. Regardless I did enjoy reading this book and it kept me engaged.

One tragedy is told from 3 viewpoints. While this story can be a bit dark at times overall it is a good read that keeps your wanting more.

This book had a unique premise, but it wandered in too many directions that felt unsatisfying. I didn’t connect with any of the characters, and I felt the Judge storyline was entirely unnecessary. This seemed like it was going to be an intriguing story, but overall it was not what I had hoped.

This was not as engrossing as I had hoped. I found myself bored with the characters and the plot itself at times. As a mood reader, this could very much be a "me" problem but the pacing just felt a little too placid.

Holy cow, this book packs a punch! A whole host of unlikely characters brought together to finally settle the cold case of who hit Janie with their car over twenty years ago, leaving her for dead. The amount of secrets they all hold will astound you.

I thought the way the author tied this all together was very clever, and full of heart. Some moments I wanted to hug the book to my chest, and others I wanted to throw it across the room. It's wildly unbelievable, all of it, but it's also what makes it so fun.

I just finished this book and it wasn't what I expected! It was a little slow to start, but once it picked up it was hard to put down. Every time I thought I had everything figured out, a new twist was thrown in. This book kept me guessing right until the end. I would definitely recommend it!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this arc. Unfortunately, this book wasn’t for me. I was super excited for the plot and I love mystery/thrillers. I found myself having a hard time getting into it.

All in all this book was fine. I liked the character development, the three person narration, and the initial storyline. I began to lose interest earlier than I expected to as there was some delay in getting to some of the issues and Robbie's continuous "I can't tell" made it a bit long. Overall, the book was fine.

I found myself thoroughly engrossed in this book from start to almost-finish. The suspense was palpable throughout, keeping me eagerly turning pages to uncover the mysteries. However, as the story reached its climax, I was bombarded with a deluge of new information that became somewhat overwhelming to digest. Despite this, the enigmatic nature of the plot kept me hooked; I relished the challenge of piecing together the puzzle, never quite sure of what to expect next.

Despite grappling with the complexity of certain parts, I still found the overall experience immensely satisfying. The intricate plotline and well-developed characters were standout features that ensured I remained invested until the very end.

I Died on Tuesday was a book that had way too much going on. Each of the characters that were telling their part of the story had complicated plot lines … it was as if each story could be a book in itself.
The last hall of the book has so many big reveals/plot twists , it just didn’t ring true for me.
The main crime … a hit and run although terrible seemed to create an unusual amount of anger.

Could have been 5 but it was a slow start for me so I almost gave up BUT I am so glad I didn’t because it was soooo good.
This book should definitely be on your TBR list for 2024 you will not regret it.
Good amount of everything despite the slow start.

I Died on a Tuesday, by Jane Corry, follows three intertwining stories. Janie is an 18-year-0ld girl who was injured by a hit and run. Robbie, a once-popular musician, may be responsible for her debilitating injuries. Vanessa, a witness support officer, comes to know these individuals 20 years later, when Robbie is arrested for the accident.

This story had great potential to be a twisty thriller, but fell short. The characters were likeable, but the narrative became boring in the latter third. The writing became easy and weak at this stage of the book. I rushed through the end just to get it finished.

The title drew me in, the book did not. I never felt a connection to any of the characters and found them at times to be quite frustrating. Overall it was too cheesy for my liking.
