I downloaded this book a little over a week ago, I have tried 8 of the recipes. I have cookbooks here that I have owned for a decade and haven't tried more than one recipe. So let that be testament to the greatness of this book!!!

I love it. The colour and simplicity, the fact that so many of the recipes rely on standard kitchen ingredients. The simplicity of the recipes and the tastiness of the end results. This is a must have for any Italian food lover.

We don't have Big Mamma in Dublin, my campaign for them to open an Irish restaurant starts here. We think coleslaw is a suitable side to eat with Lasagne but don't judge us, if you build it, we will come in our droves.

From the simple pasta dishes to the lux desserts , this book has a huge variety of tasty recipes. I also loved the little tips on each recipe from Italian films and places to visit to putting chocolate in the freezer before using when making dessert ( a game change!). To the qr code you can scan to listen to correct Italian pronunciations and the beautifully shot photographs.Bravo bravo!!

Also, while I will absolutely be purchasing a copy of this book upon publication, this book works so well as an ebook, a rare feat for a cookbook! Handy to have it readily available on my phone when shopping and double checking measurements.

This is a book I will return to over and over again.

5 star.

The book is colorful and lively. Directions were easy to understand and enjoyed the information provided about Italy.
This wouldn't be a cook book I would use; just because of my tastes and no reflection on the authors.

Big Mamma is an interesting cooking book advertised for people in need of a quick and delicious (and sometimes quite fancy) recipe to prepare in a short amount of time. It has a catchy cover, and very funky pictures of the various chefs inside. What I liked about it is that for every recipe there is a picture of the finished product. Personal pet peeve of mine is when a cookbook like this one does not show pictures for every dish but adds nonsense ones about.. I don't know. Flowers. Unless you are going to cook with them, I prefer seeing food than aesthetically pleasing but pointless images! Anyway. I like that there are recipes from all over Italy: sometimes cookbooks in English tend to focus on the cuisine of the South, and although the food is delicious, Italy is not just Napoli! The recipes are divided per serving order, starting from the aperitivi and ending with the dolci, with some useful basics recipes and a handy appendix. At the bottom of every recipe page they add little anecdotes (although they sound written by Americans or for an American audience in my Italian opinion. Still, interesting!). So, all in all a good fun cooking book!

This book has some classics as well as some new great recipes. I love all the burrata recipes and even more cheese mozzarella balls. The foccia with mortadella bring me back to family buffets at my nonnos house when I was a kid. The added funny bit and recommended ideas add a great flair and touch. Things such as top movies to watch, best cheeses , music , 5 rules for best pasta, love these added bits. I am definatly going to be making more than one of these recipes soon.

For a recipe book called big Mamma I was unable to find any female chefs. Should he Big Poppa. Recipes are definitely the high calorie restaurant fair the men love.

A well designed cookbook, the recipies seem do-able enough for somebody less experienced. Personally I would have liked it more if the basic recipes where placed at the beginning of the book to represent that they are the beginning for a lot of these recipies

Chock full of Italian recipes that you can make in 30 minutes, Big Mamma is approachable and FUN.

Broken down into sections – Aperitivo, Antipasti, Primi, Secondi, Contorni, Pizze, Doli, and Back to Basics -- there are lots of tips for saving time, selecting your produce, what cooking utensils you need, the 10 ultimate Italian cheeses, rules for making an authentically Italian carbonara, how to choose dried parmesan or pasta, must-try Italian wines, how to make your own Limoncello, and more. A Minute to Spare tips are peppered throughout the book, offering suggestions of little things you can do to make the recipes even more special.

The cleverly-named recipes (Jon Bon Chovy, Britney Spearagus, La Dolceviche, Carpaccio Diem, Julius Caesar) are easy to follow with measurements in both cups and grams. The photography is simple, with good representations of the finished product. Fair warning though, unless you have an Italian market nearby, you’re likely going to need to substitute many of the ingredients. (One cheese or olive for another, for example.)

You’ll find things like crispy fried Caciocavallo (cheese), croquettes, tarte tatin with tomatoes, big veggie carbonara, Risotto with sausage and red wine, four cheese gnocchi, lasagna, caponata, pizza with burrata and Coppa, pistachio tiramisu, ricotta mousse, and lots of other old classics and new favorites.

Makes a delightful addition to any collection!

I knew when I saw this I needed it! As a huge fan of the Big Mamma restaurants, I can’t wait to try out these recipes (all with fantastic, punny names). The book keeps with the fun and quirky brand of the restaurants, and each recipe has a fun quote or line of “advice” which were all very entertaining and overall the book encapsulates the fun and Italian theme of the restaurants.

I have the first Big Mamma recipe book 'Cucina Popolare' so was thrilled to learn they would be doing a second.

I made the third recipe 'Mozzarelline Fritte' and was relieved to find this one is just as 'beginner friendly' as the first.

This is a great authentic Italian cookbook with just the right amount of humour to keep you going - the recipe 'Britney Spearagus' should tell you enough about that side of things.

I LOVE THIS COOKBOOK!!! I am married to an Italian and grew up with a neighbor who immigrated from Italy, so if there’s one thing I love it is authentic Italian food. This book makes Italian cooking less intimidating, much easier and more accessible. I love that everything can be cooked in 30 minutes since I am a busy mom. There are a wide variety of recipes so there truly is something for everyone in this cookbook.

Thank you to Goodreads and the publisher for the ARC.

This is everything a cookbook should be: Gorgeous, rich, full color photos that make you want to take a bite out of the page. Fun, clearly written recipes that are easy to follow. And for an added bonus, generous amounts of humor sprinkled throughout. From the silly names ("Jon Bon Chovy", Britney Spearagus", "Burratina Turner") to the fun suggestions for if you have "a minute to spare", this book goes out of it's way to make sure you're having a good time both reading and cooking.

Who doesn't love Italian food? Even better when you can whip up the dish in 30 minutes with basic and simple ingredients. I love that this cookbook has a photo for each recipe. My husband is a very visual person with recipes and having the photo is very helpful. Not only does this cookbook provide tons of easy to follow recipes, but it also gives plenty of tips and tricks regarding Italian cooking. This book is a must to add to your collection!

What a lovely cookbook. Some of these recipes I've never heard of, and that's hard to achieve as I grew up with Swiss-Italian food. I also appreciate the design of the book; it's fresh and a bit tongue-in-cheek but in the best way, it made me want to start trying these recipes right away!

This has a great mixture of simple, quick Italian recipes. I liked all the photos of the recipes, so I know what it’s really meant to look like. I’ll be trying some of these out.

This is a fun, fabulous, authentic Italian cookbook! The photos are beautiful, the instructions are clear, and the dish names are hilariously punny.

This cookbook takes its food and ingredients seriously, but adds whimsy throughout. Food - cooking and eating - should be enjoyable and this book captures that perfectly. My Italian heart is full.

Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – White Lion for the opportunity to view an early copy in exchange for my unbiased opinion.
