At the risk of sounding like a broken record….there is something that just hits with Marni’s books.
The Rebel was absolutely no different. I LOVED Cooper and Rowan’s story, it starts off with a bang—literally. But then the growth between the two of them, both together and individually was just perfect.
Of course they went through a bit of a rough patch when they were still enemying but they came out the other side and I just loved their love story and how it played out.
This second book in this series was one complicated read! There was a lot going on with these two characters but it turned out to be one hot read that I had not complaints about!
In this standalone read we get Cooper and Rowan's story. What started out as a chance meeting turns into so much more! Both are in Canada looking at a property for a business opportunity that ends with them being snowed in over the holidays and spending it together. When they return to their lives they discover that they are business rivals that are then thrown into a merger between their respective companies that no one is happy about. Their chemistry continues to be off the charts while their families battle it out to get along in the newly formed company while trying to keep their relationship on the DL. Unfortunately the truth about them comes out and then they have to deal with it and so much more.
So this was a well written book with some cameo appearances from the Dalton series characters. The chemistry between Cooper and Rowan was off the charts and I was hooked on their story from the start. I look forward to seeing where this series will go next and can't wait for the next installment of the series.
Overall, this was a good book that I would recommend to others.
After reading the first book in the Spade Hotel Series I was excited for Cooper Spade and Rowan Cole’s story. This book was everything I expected and so much more and I can highly recommend it to all readers looking for the perfect mix of witty banter and twists and turns you don’t see coming.
J.F Harding and C.J Bloom did a wonderful job bringing the characters and their journey to life. They were spot on with the banter and they took this book to another level.
Cooper and Rowen’s families are rivals looking to purchase the same hotel but when their fathers throw them all a curveball they all need to work together. So how will Cooper react when he finds out the woman he spend a few hot nights with when they were snowed in, is now his business partner. One click this gem to find out.
The Rebel ( Spade Hotel #2) has all the feels, I smiled, I giggled, I swooned and I found myself cheering this couple on. Looking forward to the next book in this entertaining series.
I received an audio copy from the publisher through Netgalley.
4 Star Review The Rebel (Spade Hotel #2) by Marni Mann
eBook/Audio:
This is Cooper Spade and Rowan Cole’s story, and it was certainly steamy. Being stranded, Cooper and Rowan spent three passionate nights together not expecting to meet up again.
Their families are rivals but both Connor and Rowan could hold their own. There was a connection between these two that is almost palpable, and it was entertaining to watch as their relationship developed.
The Rebel is a fast paced, well written story that will draw you in keep you hooked from the first chapter to the last. The journey was full of twists and turns and the banter between them witty.
The narration by J F Harding and C J Bloom was spot on. Their voices are easy to listen to. Their performances did justice to the passion, romance, and humour that Ms. Mann wove and brought the story to life for me.

Quick Summary: A hot **x on a platter romance
My Review: The Rebel by Marni Mann is book #2 in the Spade Hotel series. It features the relationship between Cooper Spade and Rowan Cole.
About the Book: The Spades and the Coles were business rivals. The families had been raised to despise each other. When circumstances brought two seeming strangers together - one a Spade and one a Cole - for a secret affair of sorts, what do you think happened? Fireworks, feelings, and fate were on the table.
Question to Consider: How hard would you fight to be with the person you loved...even if they were a part of a family you hated?
About the Characters: Cooper was a definite alpha male. He was determined, driven, and unapologetic about his position. When he wanted something, he wasn't shy about making it known. Rowan was an alpha female. She had bite while still maintaining her sense of femininity. She was strong and knew how to play with the big boys. She didn't back down but went head to head, even as she sought to bring the balance. The family members and Rowan's best friend made me want to learn their stories even more.
My Final Say: This story was explosive. It was insanely good from an emo standpoint. I could not stop myself from listening. What Cooper and Rowan shared was sweet, spicy, and savory. I liked how they both loved hard and fought for what they wanted.
Other: The Spade Hotel series is 2/2. Let's go! Readers who enjoy romances with an attitude will devour these novels.

Appreciation is extended to the author, to the publisher (Dreamscape Media), and to NetGalley. Thank you for granting access to this title in exchange for an honest review. I am grateful for the opportunity to read this novel. I look forward to reading more from this dynamic series.
“This is what love is—what it looks like, feels like.” She took a breath. “This is fulfillment, Cooper.”
If Marni ever writes a MMC that I am not absolutely obsessed with... I've probably lost my mind and will need to be checked on.
Cooper is in Lake Louise to scope out property for the next Spade Hotel. With a snowstorm grounding him, he meets Rowan. From the first eye contact, the attraction is undeniable. But over the next three days, something changes in both of them. The only problem? -- Rowan is the daughter of the Spade Hotels biggest competitor.
I was LIVING for this story. Cooper was every bit of the delicious Alphahole I expected him to be but also we got to see the loving caring side of him too and I was SOLD. I absolutely loved Rowan. She had this badass attitude to prove herself but also this intimidated side that just needed someone to love her and choose her.
And I'm sorry but that epilogue. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. I SOBBED. Unwell. Checked out. Do not disturb until further notice.
I was also lucky enough to get my hands on an advanced audiobook, thanks to Netgalley. The performance was Perfection. I felt like the narrators matched really well with the characters. It was easy to listen and follow along.

The Dalton series is one of my favs and I’m so glad this series not only has cameos but rivals that series for my fav! This book was fantastic. I read it in less than 24 hours. Cooper is the best and I don’t know if anyone will ever top that. Rowen was so fun. I don’t love one of the tropes that came up in the book but the rest of it was so dang good I and help but give this 5⭐️s!
Thank you Dreamscape for the ALC
