Holy...wow! That ending just blew me right out of the water. I was literally on the edge of my seat for this entire book, that I could not put down for the life of me. Vi Keeland is masterful in the way she gives just a little information here, a bit more there, and a dash over here. Keeping me from fully putting the book down. I thought I had it figured all out. I had a few things correct. But it comes right down to the last sentence. That one sentence pushed me over the edge and made me give this book five shining stars.

Meredith had an amazing life. A husband that she could not get enough of. A flourishing practice, where patients are flowing in. Things change in a blink of an eye, when her hockey playing husband has a horrible injury. He has been angry, lashing out, not the man that she knows and loves. She is desperate to have her fun-loving husband back. One phone call is all it takes for her entire life to become completely unraveled. I am not going into any more details because you need to enjoy this one on your own and I am not spoiling it.

The characters are all fighting their own demons and have ulterior motives that left my mouth hanging open. I stayed up way too late finishing this one and I do not regret it one bit. Thank you to Vi Keeland and Atria for my gifted copy of this fast paced, intense thriller.

Thank you Netgalley, author and Atria books for the ARC.

Meredith McCall's a psychiatrist in New York. She's recently suffered a tragic loss of loved one and is in a mandatory therapy session herself which has to all do with the tragedy she's faced. She's finding a hard time to resume her life and attain any kind of normalcy. And one day when she comes across a man who's connected with the tragedy that occurred and affected both their lives , she can't help but be obsessed with him and starts stalking him, hoping she'll find answers that she desperately needs. But when the same man ends up in her clinic as her patient , she's caught off guard. Suddenly she can't fight off the attraction she feels even though it's all wrong morally & ethically. Eventually she ends up getting entangled with him that Unravels her life , career and her sanity !!

Wow what a thriller ! I went into this blind not reading much into the synopsis which was good idea. Narrated mainly from Meredith's perspective we read chapters that tells us what happened in the past in her life and about the tragedy that takes place. The current timeline narrates to us about the aftermath and how she's unable to deal with it all , while trying to get back to normal , resume her practice. Short chapters keeps you turning pages fast as the drama builds up. Mid way through the book the story takes a big turn with some crazy twists and WTH moments - I did not see this being a kind of erotic thriller ! It's a rollercoaster ride after this and the final revelations are insane , the enjoyable kind. And just when you think wow that was some crazy story in the last two pages the author manages to insert the biggest revelation in the Epilogue.
This comes under what you call popcorn thriller. Good choice to get you out of reading slump.

It's a 4/5 ⭐ read for me.

This was a an incredibly addictive story. I was entertaining from beginning to end. The main characters was a captivating mess I couldn’t get enough of.
I really enjoyed the twists and turns in this book. Vi Keeland owes me answers about that ending 😭

Thanks to Atria Books and NetGalley for the ARC!

3.5/5
Meredith McCall was at the top of her game - thriving career as a psychiatrist and a hot hockey player for a husband. How does she end up stalking Gabriel Wright and crossing all the lines when he becomes her patient?

I'm not quite sure how I feel about The Unraveling. The story was well-written and engaging, but I really didn't like the MC. I think the only character I liked in the story was Meredith's office assistant, Sarah. It's difficult to feel sad for Meredith when she's mostly responsible for her current situation. And it's not just that she made bad choices (we all do from time to time although not at the level Meredith did!), but she just wasn't a likable character to me. I didn't connect with and care for her before she started "unraveling." Watching it happen was engaging enough that I wanted to know what happened next, but I wasn't truly invested in the ending. I did appreciate the twists, and there was some spice! 🥵 Overall, The Unraveling was mostly good, but it missed the mark of great for me.

Read this if you like:
•  unhinged MC
•  a twisty psychological thriller
•  your thrillers with a touch of spice

The last sentence of The Unraveling blew my mind. I really could leave my comments there, but I have to say how much I loved Vi Keeland's latest release. "The Unraveling" really is the perfect title for this book, because that's really what happens to Dr. Meredith McCall's perfect life. It's the perfect one-sitting binge. Once I started, there was no way I could put it down -- I just had to see how things unraveled.

The Unraveling is Vi's first psychological thriller and it did NOT disappoint! This book was absolutely so addictive and was so hard to put down. I was honestly hooked from the very beginning. I feel like it is always a hit or miss when an author ventures into a new genre of books, but this one was for sure a great hit. The twist and turns were so well written and the ending was great as well. Definitely worth the read!

Addiction. Grief. Death. Obsession. Crazy connections. Fast pace. Amazing twists. I ate this up! I definitely wasn't expecting where this book went multiple times but as it unfolded each step made it better and better. I absolutely loved the flow and storyline. It kept me hooked from the get go until the end. Highly recommend this one if you love a good physiological thriller with a little stalking involved. 😜

Wow! I absolutely loved this book. Amazing characters and wonderful plot. Very beautifully written and easy to read.

I’m shocked. This is definitely something new that this author wrote and I loved it. I cried a couple of times throughout this story, it’s heartbreaking.

Meredith MacCall is a psychiatrist and she lost her husband in a terrible car accident. Now, seven months later, she just exists, going through motions. She doesn’t work, someone else subs for her. One day, she sees a man across the coffee shop she seats in. Gabriel Wright. The man that lost even more than her, and he looked happy.

She was baffled and she followed him. It started a cycle that will unravel both their lives. Later, he became her patient. Lines were crossed. And a lot of the horrible truths came out. This story is not about love, it’s about obsession.

Overall I loved this book very much. If you’re looking for a psychological thriller then you’re definitely going to love it.

This book is an intense rollercoaster ride unlike anything I’ve read by this author. I love Vi I devour all her words, but this, this right here is unlike anything. The twist. The turns. The surprise ending. All of it kept me on the edge of my seat. Seriously READ IT!!!!

This book gave me that 'waiting for the other shoe to drop' feeling the whole time I was reading it.

It was a wild ride filled with suspense and dread. The main character wasn't always likable and her actions were often questionable at best, but I rooted for her anyway.

This was a cat and mouse game and I never knew which one was which. It was a fun read that I could see becoming a movie, especially of the Lifetime variety.

I read an ARC of this book from NetGalley. All comments are my own.

Meredith is living in constant psychological pain after losing her husband. She makes some very questionable decisions that lead to her losing her ability to practice as a counselor. She finally earns the right to practice again but she has to meet strict requirements to keep her license. When Gabriel walks into her office looking for a counselor, Meredith continues to spiral. Can she pull her life back together? Will she spiral so far out of control that there is no going back?
I love the set up of this story. The fact that Meredith’s husband died in a car crash and she can’t get over the fact that he killed two people is such a believable reason for her life to fall apart. I can’t say anything more about the accident or I’d be giving spoilers. The author gives Meredith a good growth curve as she learns to deal with her pain. The introduction of Gabriel into Meredith’s world is well done. His development throughout the story is really good. There are other characters in the story but if I talk about them I might end up giving spoilers.
Holy wow. Not what I expected at all. This book is a psychological mystery. The end is surprising. None of the characters are really likable. I felt immersed in the story and drawn into the mystery. When the story ended I wanted more. If you are looking for something different, give this a try. Just like life ,there are no easy answers and people make questionable decisions throughout the entire book. Don’t read this expecting a happy romance story because this ain’t it. I will definitely read more from this author in the future.

If you want a fast paced, twisty, suspenseful book this is then one! I’ve read several of Vi Keeland’s romance books and this is her first thriller and it is so good! A hint of
romance still sprinkled in but I was so focused on the cat and mouse game and who was telling the truth. So many secrets. This story is told in dual timeline so you get a little bit of the story with the flashbacks and present timeline.

The Unraveling is an interesting read. I felt embarrassed by the awkward and dangerously foolish choices of the main character. I kept wanting to yell at the characters for their horrible reactions to situations. But, I like to feel huge emotions/reactions to books so this was a plus for me!
I didn’t think it was particularly shocking or unpredictable but it was entertaining and had lots of suspense leading up to the final revelation. It is a fast paced read that I wanted to finish in one sitting to see if my predictions would be right.

Things started off a bit slow for me with this one. It took a bit to get into the writing and connect with the story. I’m not sure I ever did connect one hundred percent but at about the 10% mark the story hooked me enough that I started flipping pages like a fiend.

This book is told in alternating time lines. The before and then current time. This wasn’t confusing but it’s also told in a way that we are slowly given some answers in the back and forth chapters as the story unfolds. I feel like the way it was written definitely added a good tension to the story. I will say I was not completely fooled. I definitely did guess correctly on a few things but I don’t feel like that affected my enjoyment of the story at all, for me personally. The way Vi Keeland writes this had me hooked even if it wasn’t completely unpredictable, though I will say that ending had my mouth dropping. Bravo for that! 👏

This book is full of twists, turns, and so much drama and edginess. I think this is a great read if like me you’ve read a few thrillers but they aren’t your normal genre. It was very gripping and had me on edge, especially the last bit of the book. I definitely stayed up late into the night to get to the answers. Would definitely recommend.

HOLY HELL! What the F did I just read? I don’t even know how to begins. This story follow Meredith who is a psychiatrist. A series of unfortunate event left her reeling. Meredith became a shelf of herself and her life began to unraveled. One fateful day she ran into Gabriel, the man that she was part of her past, someone she should have avoided at all cost. The plot thickened when said man came into her office seeking professional help. Would she come clean or will she crossed the line with patient/provider relationship?
Oh man! This was such a roller coaster story full of twist and turns. It started out light, turned heartbreaking, turned intense, mysterious and completely mind-f*ck at the end. The plot twist was epic. I was totally engrossed and could not out it down. A well-written psychological thriller. The ending was evil  You think you figured it out – think again!!! Wow! I did not doubt this romance author but this story was a huge surprise! One of those mind-blowing book – go in blind! Trust! 

Stumbling upon Vi Keeland's venture into psychological thrillers was a moment of pure joy for me. She's a beloved author in the romance genre, known for her intense and passionate storytelling, particularly when teaming up with Penelope Ward. If you haven't read her books yet, I highly suggest you do—trust me, you might end up sending me chocolates as a thank-you for the recommendation!
Venturing into the realm of psychological thrillers is a bold move, but romance writers like Colleen Hoover, Tarryn Fisher, and Alessandra Torre have shown it's possible to leap with grace. Vi Keeland is no exception. I gave her the reins of my reading adventure, and she steered me through a thrilling ride. The book captivated me with its pulse-racing plot and unexpected twists that caught me off guard.
This book stands out as a unique yet familiar piece of Vi Keeland's work. Her distinctive writing style can immerse you in the narrative and evoke a wide range of emotions. The thriller met all my expectations by vividly portraying the protagonist's pain and emotional turmoil following a profound loss.
To sum it up, the book was an enthralling, fast-paced read that I thoroughly enjoyed. I'm looking forward to Vi Keeland delving further into psychological thrillers, as she appears to be quite comfortable in this new genre.
A big thanks to NetGalley and Atria Books / Emily Bestler Books for providing me with this captivating advanced reader's copy.

The Unravelling is going to be a contender for my favorite book of the year. It kept me on the edge on my seat and had me audibly gasping as I read it. It was packed full of twists, unexpected spicy spice, and a twist or 4 that are bound to shake you to your core. The spice was spicey, the suspense kept me guessing, and the final twist was unexpected and impactful.

Obsession, Lies, Love & Loss. This was so addictive!

Meredith McCall’s life unravels with the loss of her husband in a tragic accident. When she comes across the man whose life was destroyed by her husband’s accident she feels drawn to him and begins following him. As a psychiatrist herself, she knows she’s in a downward spiral and seeks treatment. Just when she starts to get herself together, Gabriel walks into her practice - seeking help.

What a tangled web Vi Keeland weaves in this thriller. I couldn’t step away - it was so addictive! Talk about unhealthy actions, crossing professional boundaries and toxic coping mechanisms. Plus, there is definitely some spice (I mean hello, it’s Vi Keeland!) amidst all the unhinged craziness.

If you enjoy books with flawed characters whose actions will leave you with your mouth agape - run & grab this one.
