Holy wow, that was absolutely fantastic. I loved the build up, I loved the twists, and I loved the suspense. And the spice. Oh boy, I was not expecting that but it was so perfect. I truly loved everything about this book.

I'm a romance girl who loves to throw in thrillers a few times a month. When I saw Vi was writing her first thriller I jumped on board so fast and my goodness, this book was practically made for me. An amazing blend of thrills and suspense with a dash of spice.

The ending absolutely threw me and then tossed me twice as far. It was incredible and was one of those that made you reread the last few pages and stew a minute to wonder what the heck you just read. I'm still wondering to be honest. This one will be sticking with me for a while.

This was GOOD! It was twisty but also a little spicy which I was not expecting. This was a book I could not put down since you have a thriller with a dark romance going on and you do not know what is going to happen next. I hope Vi Keeland writes more books like this next!

WOW. Just…WOW!!!!!

Okay I’m gonna be as SPOILER FREE as I can be! but it’s definitely hard to give a review without spoiling the whole plot or giving any info away especially when you just wanna brag about how awesome this book is but HOT DAMN!

Vi Keeland says this isn’t a love story. And she is…right? Kinda? Not sure lol 😆 I feel like answering that would give away a lot. You meet our FMC who is trying to mentally cope with a recent tragedy and the mess that was left behind for her to deal with. She then sees someone she wasn’t expecting and a spark of obsession ignites within her.

But the more she digs the more questions start to arise. What the hell actually happened that night?

And when that person shows up in her office? OH BOY…

I’m not a thriller person. A bit of mystery here and there, sure! I normally gravitate towards romance. But this was written by Vi Keeland!! How could I pass up the opportunity to read this book?! Worth it!!

When this book is released, read it!! This was such a good read and Vi, if you read this, I will be purchancing a physical copy because I need this beauty in my life as my shelf trophy 🏆 lol 😂

THANK YOU NetGalley and Vi Keeland for the e-ARC of this book! ♥️

IT. WAS. WORTH. EVERY. WORD! 😍

I could NOT stop reading this book. I get so excited when I find thrillers like this because having read SO many that sometimes it’s hard to shock me or REALLY keep me on the edge of my seat. This one did just that! It is everything I want in a thriller…down to the very last page. 🤯 I’m looking at you Vi Keeland! WOW! I love when a book has to get that final last jab in….this one certainly ended with my jaw physically dropped! Meredith was such a complex and dare I see naughty character. She felt like a train wreck that I couldn’t look away from. 😂There is a lot of heart pounding moments in the 300 pages! The only thing I wish is that it ended so soon! This will be a top thriller for me this year so if you’re a thriller lover like me make sure to grab this one! Sign me up for what’s next from this author! 🙌

This was a great book. I've read several books by this author, in the romance genre. I was exited to see her branch out. This one kept me on the edge of my seat and I did not want to put it down! I was guessing all the way until the end. Nothing was obvious, and that kept my attention! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this one!

I'm ashamed to admit this was my first Vi Keeland book and I can assure you, it won't be my last.

Holy plot twists, Batman. This book took me on a roller coaster filled with so much emotion. I couldn't believe it. Just when you think you have everything figured out, boom, here comes another plot twist ready to turn everything upside down.

If you're into psychological thrillers, twists and turns, and a passionate obsession that is borderline unhealthy, then you need to pick this book up! You'll be reading it well into the night. I promise you that.

This author has a well-established footing in the romance world. But with this release, she is venturing into a new genre, and one of my other faves, thrillers.

The heart of this story centers on Meredith McCall, a psychiatrist and wife to an NHL player, who has the perfect life . . . that is until her husband's life begins to spiral downward. For some time, we don't know what happened to Connor, but there are enough clues you can guess. And that leads to one tragic night that ends 3 lives.

Meredith's POV switches from the past to the present throughout this book.
In the past, we learn of what led up to that tragic night.
In the present, Meredith struggles to move forward. This would be the beginning of her "Unraveling", and she decides to stalk the husband that lost 2 people that night.

There are some parts of this story that were predictable, specifically how and why Gabriel Wright ends up as one of Meredith's patients. While there is some hesitancy to work with him, she ultimately does, which I had to question. Not only seeing him as a patient, but not being truthful about her connection to him. Did she really think he'd never learn? But Meredith isn't quite right, and with time, the unraveling begins to escalate.

What I liked most about the story was the twist involving another patient of Meredith's. For a brief moment, I had some inkling, but I never put everything together. And then the ending . . . *chef's kiss*.

Overall, this was a fast paced read with some interesting twists. I hope the author will continue to dabble in this genre.

This one really succeeded in surprising me on multiple occassions and had some very good but unexpected spicy bits. I was pretty elated when I finished because it's rare for me to be this sucked into a thriller these days.

The synopsis of this book promised a psychological thriller who’s story focused on obsession and it delivered just that. What a ride this story was. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time and every time I thought I had figured out what was happening a new twist would happen and throw my theories out the window.

This story is not only about obsession but about grief and how we may deal with that grief. It explores unusual or unexpected outlets when dealing with grief and uncertainty. It’s mostly all surface but still helps set the story. Meredith, the female main character, is unpredictable and unraveling when we meet her. She’s lost and is trying to find something and anything. Let’s just say she looks for it in ALL the WRONG places. Some of the story seemed a bit repetitive at times but I still enjoyed it.

I know this is the author’s first thriller and I'll for sure will be checking out any future ones.

Thank you Netgalley and Aria Books for providing me with this eARC for my honest review.

Meredith McCall has experienced a terrible loss and before she can get back to practicing psychiatry, she must undergo some therapy of her own. When she runs into Gabriel Wright, the man whom she shares a tragic connection, her world turns upside down and an unhealthy obsession ensues. She finds herself following him to his job at Columbia to a storage unit near his home and even on dates in cafes. She knows its wrong, but she can’t help herself. Why does he seem so happy when she is so lost.

And when Gabriel walks into her office as a patient, she can’t help but become further entangled in his life all while hers increasingly unravels. What follows next is one page-turning thriller that I devoured in one sitting. It was well-paced, engaging and refreshingly fantastic.

This is the author’s first foray into suspense and she did not disappoint. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.

Thank you to Vi Keeland, Atria Books and NetGalley for an advance e-copy of the book for an honest review.

Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow!

The Unraveling by Vi Keeland
Rating: 4.5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice level: 2.5 🌶️🌶️🌶️

I am shocked by the ending! My mind’s blown! 🤯😱
I can’t believe it! I just can’t…

I am a huge fan of Vi Keeland’s romance and now she’s come out with a shocking thriller that has gripped me from the start! It just shows she can write anything!

"Rumor has it you're ready for me?"

The Unraveling tells the story of Dr Meredith McCall, a psychiatrist who is stalking a guy that ends up being her patient and who she shares a tragic history with. She is dealing with A LOT!

With Gabriel, the normal rules don't apply.

The story portray the character’s grief, guilt, obsession, mystery and taboo through a sequence of events from the past and present day.

"What if the person who's off-limits isn't really as off-limits as we think? Then does it become dangerous?"

The way the story unfolds keeps you skating between being curious to straight out being on the edge and wanting to know what’s next!

It's almost like we're playing a game. A game with no rules or boundaries. It's thrilling and panic-inducing.

It had just the right amount of suspense and spice and the ending was absolutely crazy!

"I'll see you next week, Dr McCall."

Ahhhh! For all the Verity fans, this is 100% your next read!

Thank you so much Vi Keeland and Atria Book for the opportunity to review this book. Can't wait to see what else Vi Keeland writes next!

...What?! I am still reeling after having just finished The Unraveling. This book is so much different from anything else Vi has written, but boy, did it still suck me in! I was interested right from the beginning and started forming question after question. The storyline of this book is intense, emotional, and full of mystery and suspense. I kept forming theories as I read the book, trying to figure out the truth of what happened in the past and what is happening now. I couldn’t get a solid read on many of the characters, I didn’t know who to trust and what to believe. I still enjoyed trying to figure everyone out, though. This book was a whirlwind, with so much going on from the beginning to literally the last word. *I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.*

I was excited to jump into this after reading the synopsis. I was curious to see how the tragic event would link them or if maybe we’d get a deeper look into how grief and pain can affect one’s psyche, but what we got instead was a jumbled mix of alcohol-driven, ethics-breaking decisions from Meredith, who apparently has at least three distinct personalities throughout the book.

In the before, she is a happy, innocent, successful psychiatrist. In the first part of the “now”, she is broken, sorrowful, and aimless, and then with a flip of a switch, she becomes a deranged, obsessed, manipulative woman. Her before and after is so different, even in response to the tragedy, that it’s hard to understand or believe.

The problem is it feels like a romance author writing a suspense novel. There are times this reads more like a dark romance. It’s heavily concentrated on Meredith’s and Gabriel’s instant attraction and lust for each other. I felt this part of the story, and their sexual relationship was completely unnecessary.

While it’s true this is a story of obsession, it seemed to be about romantic and sexual obsession rather than what you’re led to believe from the first few chapters and the blurb. There were more than a few moments thrown in and forgotten, later to be used for a twist at the end. I wish they would have been explored more when they happened. A few times I also forgot what the plot of the story was.

I don't usually read psychological thrillers but when I saw that Vi Keeland was coming out with her first, I knew I had to jump on it. And I'm so glad that I did! Keeland delivered twists and turns that I never saw coming. She kept me on the edge of my seat as I tried to keep up with what was happening and where the story was going. Damaged characters, heartbreaking situations, and obsessive behaviors took center stage and every scene had me questioning everything! Masterfully written, The Unraveling will keep you guessing until the very last page of the story. 4 stars

When Vi Keeland announced her thriller I was excited and couldn’t wait… I’m an avid fan of her romance books. Her debut suspense novel, The UNRAVELING, hooked me in and I loved it.

Have you ever read a book that leaves you speechless after finishing… this is one for me.

Meredith's husband has done something horrible and now Meredith blames herself. life begins to spiral out of control, and it leads into a game of cat and mouse. She starts following Gabriel .the guy whose life was destroyed by what her husband did.

This book was so addictive , I couldn’t put it down at all it was very intense. The twists were amazingly good, and when I thought everything was over and tied with a pretty bow.. Bam !! Vi hits us with that ending

If you enjoy suspense n thriller than this is a must read!!

This book was a wild ride with a main character I was often yelling at to make better choices. The twist at the end was one I did not see coming. I enjoyed the flip between before and present. That you NetGalley for the ARC!

I am not interested in books with graphic sex scenes especially not thrillers. I tried to read this and got bored in the very beginning but when I found out the FMC is a lunatic and there was graphic sex I was definitely out.

Apologies for the low rating but I guarantee this is not for me. A lot of people loved this one couldn’t get enough so take my review with a grain of salt.

Thank you for this copy.
