Psychiatrist Meredith McCall has experienced tragedy. One day, she sees a man she doesn’t know, but they are connected. Meredith spirals out of control and becomes obsessed with this man.

I was very surprised that this is Vi Keeland’s debut thriller! It was twisty and turny and kept me on the edge of my seat. I didn’t love the ending, but that’s just me. Overall, I enjoyed it and have recommended it to friends!

As someone who has a masters in mental health counseling, I am always weary of books about counselors because the ethics of counseling was jammed into my brain for 2.5 years. This book was no different, however the MC knew what she was doing WAS wrong. It wasn’t like she played it off like it was ok, she was very aware it was a bad idea and did it anyway. I enjoyed this book a lot!

Fun and enjoyable thriller. Kept me guessing and on the edge of my seat, I wasn't sure where the story was going to take me. I'll definitely check out more from this author in the future.

WHAT. DID. I. JUST. READ!!
I started the book on a mood. Grief and melancholy. Which was purely for Dr Meredith McCall. She's a fairly recent widow. Trying to navigate her life in NYC without her Hockey star husband. there was a horrendous accident that took him away, but the debris that littered in aftermath, has clogged Meredith's soul. Another pair of innocent victims that took out her husband, are Ellen Wright and 6 year old Rose wright.

"My tragedy. Like my life is a Shakespeare tale instead of the train wreck it is. "

Meredith is now consumed with associative guilt, since her husband Connor Fitzgerald was driving the car that ploughed them both.
Her guilt leads to obsessive disorder of stalking Gabriel Wright to figure out........what, she doesn't know !!
Tables get turned when somebody starts stalking HER!!

"But can i call it stalking? I mean.....who stalked first"

I kinda figured out what was going on when Meredith takes two new patients, one being Gabriel himself. The game of cat and mouse starts with verbal sparring, skirting the identity reveals and break-ins in each others personal spaces.
The story had me on edge THROUGHOUT. Even though i knew what was going on, or had some semblence of behind the scenes covert activities. The thrill of danger, the hair standing on end, the chills down my spine....EVERYTHING was indicative of clear and present danger. And then she gets caught in Gabriel's seductive web.
Oh my my!
While i was connecting threads and finishing up the big picture to end the sensational thriller, Vi reaches the LAST PAGE and the LAST LINE vi takes a large red marker and slashes across ALL my clues, threads, pictures, bulletin board with a big NOPE
She flips the story on its head!
ON. ITS. HEAD. PEOPLE!!
What a story, what a buildup, what hints scattered like bread crumbs, what a path to nab the real stalker and then WHAM!
I dont know whether to laugh or be angry anymore.
But PHENOMENAL job Vi, this story will stay RENT FREE in my head FOREVER!
5 stars for “The Tell-Tale Heart,”

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!

This is my first by the author and I’d love to check out other genres by them. This was bingeable, kept me guessing and definitely left me disturbed. I recommend this if you want a quick bingeable thriller with action and twists to keep you thinking.

The BEST thriller I read this year. I normally only read Vi Keeland's romances, but WOW. A real page tuner.

The Unraveling by Vi Keeland is an absolutely captivating story that had me hooked from start to finish. Even in the messier moments, I couldn’t put it down—I was determined to see how everything would unfold. The twists and turns felt like a rollercoaster, keeping me guessing and STRESSING way lol. Vi Keeland definitely knows how to keep readers on their toes!

This is a must-read. 5 stars ⭐️

I read a lot of thrillers. Like a loooooot. And you know what I just absolutely LOVE? When the last chapter or last page or, heck, last sentence, makes your jaw fall open. And, friends, that is what happened when I read The Unraveling. This is one of those thrillers where you need to just sit back, don’t worry about how “realistic” it is, and just let it all unfold for the fun of it.

I went back and forth between audio and physical for this one, and both were SUPER enjoyable, very quick, and the last 20% or so I found completely unputdownable.

I’m going to leave this “review” vague intentionally, because I think this is one where it’s best you go in as blind as possible!

This was pretty bingeable. Definitely had me hooked. There was a few f bombs and one really short graphic sex scene. I’d recommend it as a good read.

Unfortunately I didn't like this book. It was slow and boring for me. The main character was completely irrational. Even the plot twist in the last sentence didn't help, I wasn't impressed at all.

I really enjoyed The Unraveling. I loved the twists, turns, and lane changes. The characters all had depth and added to the story. I would def recommend this book.

Unfortunately, this book fell short for me. I found the main character hard to connect with. She repeatedly played the victim and kept making unethical decisions. The book's pace could have been faster. I had a hard time staying motivated to read.

I’m a big fan of Vi Keeland. I have read all her romance novels, so when I saw that she released a thriller, I NEEDED to read it. I LOVE thrillers! From the start, I found myself playing detective, intrigued, trying to figure out how the story would play out. I was hooked. I needed to know! It was a tale with many twist and lots of suspense. I consumed it. What I wasn’t prepared for was that ending! As I type this, I’m still trying to make sense of it all. I have no idea what the truth is! This is definitely one of those stories that will keep you guessing and rethinking well after you have finished the book. I highly recommend!

The cover and title seemed was giving some type of dark yet suspense storyline. Boy was I right about that, but that's all that I was right on! The twist that I didn't see coming sure was a wild ride. I love reading novels that involve a character whose job is a psychiatrist. You just know you are going to be in for an adventure of some sort. Reading the description and seeing "this isn't a love story. It's a story about obsession" gave me all the cold chill vibes and I was absolutely here for it! This book was a true un-put-downable and absolute page turner. I really wanted to stop time so I could read it from start to finish in one sitting, but you know, life and adulting put a stop to that. Such a beautifully written, intriguing, yet unsettling psychological thriller!

This twisty, psychologically intriguing book took me a bit to sink into but once I did oh man was I hooked. I devoured the second half of this book in one gulp and followed its fucked up main character to the very end.
