Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for granting me free access to the advanced digital copy of this book.
I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. It might be the quickest bedtime story ever, but it is not a short book. Lots of laughs for little ones.
🛌 Beware Parents! While the bedtime story in the book is the quickest bedtime story ever, the book itself is not!
🛌 I think parents may relate to this book more than the kiddos, because it highlights many delay tactics that kids employ to avoid going to sleep at night! Unfortunately, it may give kids new ideas to delay bedtime!! 😲 It’s all in good fun though. Kids will enjoy the humor and I think parents will enjoy the irony.
🛌 The illustrations, which are reminiscent of the Richard Scarry books of my own youth, are delightful!
🛌 I’d recommend using the story interactively! Let the kiddos wear themselves out during the story by acting out the scenes (organizing the stuffed animals, plumping the pillows, etc.) … then maybe they will settle down sooner than expected after all.
Thank you @Netgalley and Nosy Crow Inc. for an eArc of this book, which I have read and reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
I should have known by the title, that this would not be a quick bedtime story, and not one that would settle them down. The Quickest Bedtime Story Ever! is only ten words, but getting ready for this story was another matter altogether. The story gets the kids involved by asking them to do a variety of things to get ready. They got to warm up their voices, get all their stuffed animals ready to listen and more. If course this got the kids going, being silly and loud, which did the opposite of what I want a bedtime story to do. They had a lot of fun with it, but next time we will read it earlier. The illustrations reminded of the Richard Scary books with whimsical animals, lots of detail and colour and a lot of fun. I know my grandkids will want me to read this one again and again, but it is NOT a bedtime story.
This book was so cute and so accurate in terms of the interruptions of bedtime. The pictures were funny and intricate, It was definitely the kind of illustration set that could show something different on each read. My little readers could read this over and over.

Thank you Netgalley and Nosy Crow books for access to this arc.
This is truly one of the cutest children's bedtime books I've ever read. No, wait. I'll even say it's one of the cutest children's books of any type I've ever read. Yeah, okay, I'm satisfied with that. No, wait again! It's one of the cutest books I've ever read. Now I've got it.
This is one that children and parents will delight in as it invites both readers and listeners an opportunity to take part in the actual book! How cool is that?? The darling illustrations carry out what is being said and (probably) what children listening to the book will actually be doing as they hear it. It's fun, it's happy, and it's a book I bet everyone will want to take part in again and again. A
This is cheeky in the best way! My boys would have loved it during their preschool years. Just enough silliness as bedtime but not too much. Did I mention how quick it is... only ten words! This is a cute story that I would happily read to my littles or buy as a gift.
I absolutely cannot wait for this book to be released! Kids will love the funny storyline of this picture book and will be so fun to read right before bed!
Filled with adorable art and interactive elements, this 'quick' bedtime story is the best way to get all ready for bed. Sure to be a frequent reread.
I received a complimentary copy of this book via Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are my own
Very fun bedtime story. Thr illustrations are a perfect match for such a fun story.
I will be buying for robby
What a fun bedtime story! This book shows the reality of a bedtime routine, at least the reality I know to be true. I laughed out loud several times and know my toddler would enjoy this as well.
Thank you NetGalley and Nosy Crow for this advanced copy. All opinions are my own.
Such a cute and fun bedtime story! This can definitely help the little ones have a good bedtime .. and you as a parent can relate!
This book is a very cute read! I think that both children and adults will be entertained by this funny book and be able to relate to it. I liked the illustrations too! This would be a great book to read before bed. Thank you to the author, NetGalley, and the publisher for allowing me to read an ARC copy of this book.
This one looked like it was going to be quick and funny. The Quickest Bedtime Story Ever! Did not disappoint hahah. My daughter’s favourite part was voice warm up and she kept going back even when we finished reading it and giggled the whole time. The art was done so well, it was realistic but cartoons and nice and bright.
Thank you to Netgalley and noisy Crow Inc. for the complimentary copy.
Thank you NetGalley for this advanced copy! I love this bedtime story. Such a fun and entertaining story before bedtime.
The Quickest Bedtime Story Ever! is, of course, not all that short. The narrator promises that it will be and then stalls on the actual storytelling while asking the listeners to take actions that will prepare them for the very short story. The illustrations are light-hearted and fun to go along with the silly, interactive text. There is the danger that this story will rile children up more than it will help them wind down, but it is too fun to not take the chance. It would be a great story-time book or read aloud for any time of day.
I wouldn’t say that this is a bad children’s book. I mean, it’s going to get kiddos engaged. I’m sure a great many of them will have a lot of fun with the elongated bedtime story purporting to be the shortest one ever by “prepping” the kids for bed and inserting a secondary story.
All of that said, my goodness, I couldn’t stand reading this.
This is sadly the sort of book that I would probably hide from my kids if I was unfortunate enough to find it in my house. I’d actively avoid purchasing it. And I would read it quite begrudgingly were I ever asked.
Honestly, better to force the husband to read it.

I loved it!! What a great bedtime story! It has everything...comedy, drama, booger searches. What more could you want.? This book will have your kids rolling on the floor (or in bed).
FANTASTIC read aloud! This book is a great read aloud and a fun, interactive picture book. The animal characters are great, and the illustrations are so fun and well-done. The "Quickest Bedtime Story Ever," is included in the book after pages of the narrator "preparing" the reader for the story by doing silly things to get cozy and ready. Reminiscent of every bedtime a kiddo tells their parent they need to do "just one more thing" this one is enjoyable for the children and adults!
I can see this being a huge hit for bedtime and I do a weekly pajama story time this is perfect for.
This is a cute "short" bedtime story. It makes you think that it's going to be short but it's really not. But that's what makes it funny and kids will like that about it. The illustrations are cute too.
Thanks NetGalley for this ARC.
