This is a very interesting manga. The art style is cute and I am already rooting for these two to be end game lol

I wanted to like this one. It's a fun premise and a cute cover, however I think the execution just didn't end up living up to what I was hoping for. I originally anticipated an adorable romance and fun shenanigans, however the characters didn't really stand out to me and I didn't quite understand why they wanted to be together.

This is a book about the young high school student who must remain the chaste. No physical contact, no kissing, no handholding, nothing. It is because he’s born to a political family, and it is the rules within their family that between the ages of 12 and 18, there is to be no physical intimacy. The main character has a girlfriend, and she would at least like to kiss. The title makes you think it might be even more and part of it does seem like she’s looking for that, but they can’t even kiss. The idea is interesting, but the execution is boring. This is definitely a character study and our female main character seems very needy and whiny while the guy seems a stereotype of what Americans think Japanese culture is. I did not find this book fun or enjoyable and have no desire to finish the series.

This manga is filling the gaping hole in my heart that was left after my other favorite romance manga series ended. It's hilarious and sweet and I can't help but root for Yuri and Keiichiro! Beyond excited to read the next volumes, I just know they'll be great!

An interesting concept. That he has to wait until he's of a certain age to have a regular relationship. It will be fun to see all the other things they go and do together. Funny and lighthearted. Looking forward to book 2.

I'm going to be honest, I wasn't sure what to make of this from the initial premise; it seemed a little out there, or like it was going to be uncomfortable, but this is was adorable. I love Yuri and Keiichiro, and I'm absolutely going to be keeping up with this series where I can. The idea of them trying to navigate their arrangement is so interesting, and they're both weirdly wholesome and fun for the type of characters they are. I'm all in on this one.

3/5 Stars. “Let’s Do it Already!” is a forbidden romance manga that follows Yuri and her first love/crush. The title of this manga is a little bit misleading, it’s not as intimate as it sounds. The boy of Yuri’s dreams comes from a prestigious family and is unable to show his affections (hand holding and kissing) for her in public due to their reputation. Keiichiro is bound to uphold his family honor and traditions no matter how much he loves Yuri. The art in this manga was quite detailed, though at times a little busy. This manga had cute moments, but I found Yuri to be a little whiny/pouty and over the top. Keiichiro was also a little trope-y and over the top. It’s a cute high-school romance, but not necessarily my cup of tea. Thank you VIZ Media, Aki Kusaka, and NetGalley for providing an eARC for review!

Yuri gets her first boyfriend but finds out he is not allowed to do anything sexual with her until he turns 18 (family rules/tradition). Yuri is super affectionate and cannot understand why Keiichiro would follow such an outdated tradition. Yuri tries her best to seduce Keiichiro and hijinks ensue.
Both characters were like-able but I found I wanted more to the story. It felt like a series of one-shots when I was hoping for a more engaging storyline. I’m definitely curious to see where volume 2 takes the story.

"Let's Do It Already" is a refreshingly candid manga that dives into the complexities of modern relationships with both humor and sensitivity. The story follows the life of a young couple navigating the awkward and often hilarious pitfalls of intimacy and commitment. The artwork is vibrant and expressive, perfectly capturing the emotional highs and lows of the characters. What sets this manga apart is its ability to balance comedic moments with genuine, heartfelt exploration of love and personal growth. It’s a charming and relatable read that resonates with anyone who has ever faced the challenges of building a meaningful connection with someone special.

Honestly the title of this graphic novel is a bit misleading in what the expected content will be about. In actuality, the manga by Aki Kusaka is much more wholesome than the title would suggest. It was an interesting read to see that it was the male main lead who would not participate in any form of physical affection with the female lead due to his peculiar circumstances. The female lead can be a bit overbearing but I think overall it was a fun read and I could see it being popular among teenagers.

I couldn't finish this. I expected more humor, but this is too serious. The art is either sparse or over-detailed, making it difficult at times for me to tell what's going on.

Having the boy be the one who refuses to get physical in a new dating relationship is kind of a switch, but I think it's more fantasy for male readers, that a cute girl would be begging a boy to kiss or touch her.

I wanted something light and fluffy, but this is just sad. Also, the lack of consent -- no matter how stupid the reason, if he tells her no, that should be respected -- is not humorous.

The title of this book is misleading! I am happy about that, too. I think this is a cute shoujo manga about a teenaged girl who has a crush on a boy who attends the boys' school next to her. She confesses and they start dating, but Keiichiro is from an old, tradition-following family. There are a lot of rules he needs to follow--including not touching a member of the opposite sex. No kissing allowed until he's 18 years old. If I encounter someone looking for a romance manga, this school life manga is a good recommendation!

Captain, I will go down with this ship. 🚢

Yuri and Keiichiro are two very different people that have found a way into each other's lives. Each attending a school for their gender, they meet on happenstance one day when Yuri tries to return something Keiichiro dropped. Keiichiro immediately became curious about Yuri's free spirit and comedic personality, so different than his own. The pair quickly find themselves wanting to attempt a romantic relationship. There's just one problem, Keiichiro is the son a well-known diplomat, and if he doesn't want to lose his family's alliance- then he must follow their rules. This includes no touching until they are of age! Unfortunately for Yuri, who craves Keiichiro's attention, she must follow the rules, or lose out on Keiichiro entirely. Between her best friend saying "it's not worth it," to watching Keiichiro doing everything in his power to please Yuri, she stays true to her love despite the obstacles ahead of her!

This was a cute first volume to Yuri and Keiichiro's story. I love it when author's depict a couple early on- avoiding common tropes of miscommunication and forced proximity. What we see is a high school couple trying to be together, and navigating their relationship from the beginning. It's cute and wholesome; I'd definitely read the next volume. 4/5 stars.

I received an eARC of this title through NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Honestly, I don't think this title was for me. It had cute moments where the overreactive female character would freak out over something the calm male character did. But to me, it was just a lot.

I was not a fan of how whiny the girl was. I think it could have been more interesting if the characters were forced into situations where they were alone more often or had more random occurrences where they were alone and things forced them to touch without prior thought. It would have made for better tension in my opinion.

3.5/5

Let’s Do It Already is about a high school girl, Yuri, who falls in love with a boy she often commutes with. Luckily for her, the feeling is mutual! Unlucky for her, he’s the heir of his family that have been prime ministers of the country and so have super strict rules. One of which is that he cannot have any intimate touch with someone of the opposite sex until he’s 18. And Yuri? She just wants a kiss.

Contrary to the title, this story is actually quite innocent and wholesome. And a whole lot absurd. Definitely an unrealistic love story, but a cute one nonetheless. The characters are so ridiculous but cute. Yuri is your typical can’t-do-any-wrong FMC. Keichi (the MMC) is an interesting character as he’s fighting himself.

I can’t even fathom where this story is going to go. But I am definitely interested to find out.

This is about Yuri and Keiichiro who have mutual feelings for each other but while Yuri is more happy-go- lucky, Keiichiro is all about rules and contracts. His family is famous in politics with multiple prime ministers in his lineage so his family has all sorts of traditions they must follow. While at first he comes across as cold you start to see all the things he is doing with Yuri in mind that are adorable. I had my doubts about the premise, but it turned out to be hilarious as the chapters went on. It’s a sweet romance that feels like it’s only going to get better.

Special thanks to NetGalley and VIZ Media for sharing this book with me in exchange for my honest review.

I enjoyed reading this graphic novel. I think it would made a great addition to anyone's graphic novel collection.

It's a silly setup, but it only is to make it a fun story. The male lead's family has historically produced a line of successful prime ministers, and as such he must demonstrate good character from a young age to also hopefully rise to such influence. Thus, his family has forbidden him from engaging in any romantic relationships until he is 18. Unfortunately for him, the passionate Yuri has fallen and confessed to him, and he can't just say no as he has feelings for her as well. It is switching the troupe of the girl being the innocent one on it's head. It's a fun first volume and worth checking out if you like romance manga. Not the strongest start for me, personally, but these always read very quickly and sometimes the setup could use a little more time.

Welcome to a story of two high school students at single-gender schools as they embark on their nascent romance. The girl is Yuri, a fairly ditzy but deeply romantic young woman who becomes fascinated by a boy she sees on the train to school every morning. He turns out to be Keiichiro, a student at the facing (and much more prestigious) boys’ school, and the feeling is mutual – as they observe and talk to each other, they come to realize that neither of them is exactly as school stereotypes advertise. Things seem to be going along well, with the volume actually opening on their mutual confession, but then the fly in the ointment is revealed: Keiichiro is the son of a family with two generations of powerful politicians, and he’s expected to conduct himself in a certain way…a way that means “no touching girls” until he turns eighteen.

In order to make this premise work, the characters both need to be more exaggerated versions of themselves than we might see in another story. Keiichiro is serious to a fault, drawing up contracts to manage his life and to work around issues with his family; at one point, he has to write a request to get a cell phone and come up with just the right phrasing in order to have “accounting” approve his request. Yuri, on the other hand, is painted as almost TSTL; she at one point isn’t sure what a prime minister is. This contrast between the two of them is clearly set up in order to make it more of an opposites attract romance, but at times it goes too far and veers away from funny and into nearly mean, particularly where Yuri is concerned.

Despite the way the covers frame things, Keiichiro wants to move things ahead just as much as Yuri does. He’s uncomfortable with her spontaneous hugs and attempts to kiss him, but that’s because he’s aware of the consequences for himself, and he’s clearly at least a little afraid that he’ll be forced away from her, something that turns out to be a very valid concern by the end of the volume. He’s not rebuffing his girlfriend because he’s a jerk; he’s actively trying to find ways around the family precepts in order to make things better for them.

Let’s Do It Already’s first volume is frothy. There’s a clear story with some interesting emotional implications underneath, because Keiichiro is plainly starting to chafe at his family’s restrictions, but this still reads like a fluffy shoujo romance, complete with potential no-chance rival showing up in the final pages of the book. It’s less of a sexy comedy than its copy implies, but it’s still a fun read if you’re a fan of the genre.

Kusaka-senpai, this was a most excellent first graphic novel! I loved every moment. It’s such a funny and unique premise. I really can’t wait to see what happens next with Keiichi and Yuri. Well done!
