This author makes assumptions about Biblical stories that have zero basis in the actual Bible. Anytime those types of assumptions are made, it ruins the credibility of the entire book. It has some good points but the assumptions over ride anything good.
This is a personal, practical, and pastoral walk through the book of Philippians. However, it is not so much aimed at being a devotional text as it is a tool for honest reflection in your walk with the Lord. In Whom and on what is your joy founded? Are you truly content in life? Can you honestly say along with Paul that living is Christ and dying is gain? These are the kind of questions that Chandler (and Wilson) will challenge you to meditate upon and answer for yourself. Above all, they make much of the Gospel and its incredible power to transform lives. Highly recommended.
