Very enjoyable book to read, it's on that you can't put down til you are finished. Book two in Pinecraft series, Lilah Melh is a widowed mother of three daughters, her oldest Sara is getting married. Lilah, wanting to give her demanding daughter a perfect wedding, agrees to have a gazebo built in the backyard. Noah Lantz, the builder, challenged by the rush job and the owner Lilah. She wasn't looking for love and neither was he but strange things happen when the universe is in control of everyone's destiny. I really liked this book and the story line. Hard to imagine a Amish girl being a brat, but it happens.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher through Net Gallery. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
The Widows Unexpected Suitor was a sweet story of late in life romance. The two main characters fell in love while one was building a gazebo for the others daughter. Amish story with a little bit of modern convenience thrown in.
Isaiah 65:24
Lilah Mehl lives in the Amish community of Pinecraft, Florida. Since the death of her husband, she is the sole provider for her daughters. Her bride-to-be daughter, Sara, has lofty expectations for her at home wedding. She invites successful carpenter, Noah Lantz to discuss a new gazebo project with her mother without discussing it with her first. This leads to an unexpected and uncomfortable introduction. (Great opening in my opinion.)
I received an advanced readers copy from Harlequin and NetGalley. This is my own unsolicited opinion. This is an excellent second-chance romance. This is an older couple who has endured great grief after losing a beloved spouse. It's a solid story that deals with the mixed feelings of grief, emotions with a wedding (Amish bridezilla), a tight budget, attraction with guilt and sweet faith. This is a strong five stars for me. I love the characters.
The Widow's Unexpected Suitor by Lenora Worth, book two in Pinecraft Seasons series, is a sweet, endearing story of faith, love, family, hope, healing, and second chances. Widow Lilah Mehl, a widow with three daughters, has her plate completely full as she prepares for her eldest daughter Sarah's upcoming wedding. With just a few weeks to go, and much to Lilah's surprise, Sarah announces that she wants a gazebo built in her mother’s beautiful flower garden backyard, for the wedding and that she has chosen widower Noah Lantz as the builder. As the wedding prep gets moving at full speed ahead, Lilah and Noah find themselves spending more and more time together. As they do, they find that the loss of their spouses has given them a special connection as kindred spirits. However, their blossoming relationship is constantly and surprisingly interrupted by events and people. With the pressures of the wedding and a hurricane coming, the tension is high, things are said without thought and/or misunderstood, while everyone wonders if the gazebo will get finished in time, and if there will be a wedding.
A roller coaster journey transpires in this intriguing story of passed loves, present loves and future loves interwoven with a pending wedding and missing those that won't be there. Will Lilah, Noah, and even Sarah continue to live in the past and not move beyond their grief, or will they accept the gifts that are being offered.

When I saw the title, I knew that I had to read this book! Lenora Worth crafted a sweet story about second chances. Lilah and Noah both lost their spouses. While Noah is constructing a gazebo for Lilah, will they build a relationship?
This book will have you flipping the pages so fast to see what happens. If you are looking for cozy Amish fiction, this book is for you. Many thanks to the author, Harlequin Romance and NetGalley for a complimentary copy of the book. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.
The Widow's Unexpected Suitor by Lenora Worth
An Uplifting Inspirational Romance
(Pinecraft Seasons Book 2)
She thought she’d never find love again
Until he built a foundation for it…
Amish widow Lilah Mehl wants to make sure her daughter has the wedding she’s always dreamed of—even if it means building a new gazebo. Hiring widowed carpenter Noah Lantz to work on the project is easy, but ignoring their attraction proves more challenging than expected. As the gazebo takes shape, so do new feelings…but is love more than they bargained for?
This is Lilah Mehl and daughter Sara, Carol and Dana's story.
This is Noah Lantz's story.
“A gazebo?”
Lilah Mehl stared at her eldest daughter, Sara, and wondered what the bride-to-be would request next. The wedding was only a few weeks away and now Sara had come up with yet another far-fetched idea. And one that would cost a bit of money at that.
“In the back garden, Mamm,” Sara said, her burnished hair shimmering against her white organza kapp. She looked out toward the big back yard. “White and bright and we’ll put sheers draped with flowers all the way around the top. Won’t that be lovely?”
“So lovely,” sixteen-year-old Carol said in a dreamy drawl, her big brown eyes wide with interest. “And we can enjoy it after the wedding. We can have frolics there, and it will come in handy on church days, too.”
Thirteen-year-old Dana bobbed her head. She had hazel eyes, a mixture from both sides of the family, that were now vivid with curiosity. “I’d love that. I can sit there and read or visit with friends.
“She invited Noah Lantz over here to build you a gazebo, Mamm,” Dana blurted out with an elaborate shrug
Noah Lantz started chuckling, which made him look more approachable and normal, but it only added to her surprise and anger.
.I do,” he said, his tone gentle and full of an amused sparkle. “I’d love to build a gazebo for you, Lilah Mehl. That is, if you’ll let me.” He grinned and held his hands on his suspenders. “Because right now, it looks as if you’d rather bite nails than let me enter your home.”
I recommend this book.
The Widow's Unexpected Suitor by Lenora Worth is a 5 star book.
I am looking forward to reading more books by Lenora Worth.

I enjoy Amish books but this was not a typical Amish book. The Amish could drive cars and they did not live in the normal Amish community. I wasn’t expecting that but it didn’t really take away from the storyline.
I enjoyed the main characters Noah and Lilah but I was not a fan of Lilah’s daughter. She was very self absorbed and snotty. There is somewhat of a reason why at the end of the book but her attitude did bother me throughout the book.
Getting over losing someone is hard and this story explores those feelings. Overall the book was just OK.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley, opinions express in this review are completely my own.
The Widow’s Unexpected Suitor is a well written Amish romance. I throughly enjoyed the plot and the characters. It was nice to read about more mature characters. I recommend this book. I received an advance ebook from the publisher and Netgalley. This is my unbiased review.
The Widow’s Unexpected Suitor by Lenora Worth is a story about love, hope, family, second chances, and faith. I enjoyed getting to know the characters. Sarah could be a tad overwhelming at times (I believe Lilah overindulged her since the death of her husband). I thought the characters were developed. I enjoyed the Pinecraft setting. It is different from other Amish communities (no horse and buggies, church services are not held in the home). The plot is thought out and the story moved along at a good pace. Lilah and Noah are both missing loved ones which gives them a connection. The construction of the gazebo will give them time to get to know each other. Of course, the weeks leading up to a wedding are a busy time. I enjoyed the descriptions of the gazebo (I want Noah to build me one). The ending left me smiling. The Widow’s Unexpected Suitor is a sweet, uplifting story.
Kindred Spirits
Widow Lilah Mehl has her plate completely full of preparations for her daughter Sarah's upcoming wedding. With just a few weeks to go, and much to Lilah's surprise, Sarah announces that she wants a gazebo built for the wedding and that she has chosen widower Noah Lantz as the builder. As the wedding prep gets moving at full speed ahead, Lilah and Noah find themselves spending more and more time together. As they do, they find that the loss of their spouses has given them a special connection as kindred spirits. However, their blossoming relationship is constantly and surprisingly interrupted by events and people. All of these had me wondering if the wedding would ever take place, if the gazebo would ever get built, and if Lilah and Noah's relationship would ever fully bloom. Be assured that the answers to each of these questions can be found in this sweet, endearing story of faith, love, hope, healing, and second chances.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book. All comments and opinions are voluntary and completely my own.
Such a sweet story set in Pinecraft. A clean romance that makes you fall in love with the characters and their growing attraction with each other. Filled with faith and hope, this book was a delightful read. It is scheduled to be released May 21, 2024 and I was given a complimentary copy of book by Netgalley and the publisher. All words are my own.
The Widow’s Unexpected Suitor by Lenora Worth
Lilah Mehl is a widow with three daughters. The oldest, Sara, is getting married and wants to have a gazebo built in her mother’s beautiful flower garden back yard. The only problem with that is that Noah, Lantz was hired to do the job and her mother and Noah seem to be attracted to one another.
With the pressures of the wedding and a hurricane coming, the tension is so tight you can cut it with a knife. Can this journey be saved from disaster?
Lenora worth weaves an intriguing story of passed loves, present loves and future loves interwoven in one story.
The characters are well developed and the plot is well planned and developed carefully.
Thank you Harlequin, romance, love Inspired for allowing me to read this story. I gladly relate this story as 5-star. I was not required to give a positive review. Release day is May 22, 2024.
“You make it sound so romantic. Is this the part where you pitch the sale, Noah?” He chuckled. “Neh, Lilah, this is the part where I convince you to trust me. I can build you a near-perfect gazebo, but building trust requires a different kind of skill.” "A softer skill. "
A story that reflects love! We have love of children, of spouse, even when they are deceased, love of a new bride and groom to be, and the love of a family.
The setting is Pinecraft Florida, and Lilah Mehl's daughter is getting married, and all the excitement and business that goes along with the coming event.
When the bride, Sara, finds someone to be build a gazebo, this families life is changed forever.
Noah Lantz is a master carpenter, and still reeling from the loss of his wife. Noah is now in charge of building the wanted gazebo.
What a journey we begin, with a pending wedding and missing those that won't be there. Will these people continue to live in the past and not move beyond their grief, or accept the gifts that are being offered.
I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Harlequin, and was not required to give a positive review.
