Loves it!! The cute love story of DeAndre and Sherri. I did not expect to fall so hard for these characters. What I love about Synithia Williams is she always writes with a message. There were so many messages in this book that made it more than just a romance novel. A page turner for sure!

Sheri and DeAndre had a cute story. He once arrested her for vandalizing a guy’s car. Now they are working together to help improve the local community. They are both attracted to each other and those feelings quickly grew. Then his teenage son starts causing problems.

I enjoyed this book a lot. I actually wished I could get a bigger glimpse into what happened after the end of the book.

This was a good book that was full of romance and family drama. Sheri recently returned to town and opened a restaurant. She loves her community but also admits that it has its problems. She is involved in revitalizing the area and works with the police lieutenant assigned to the project. She and Deandre have a history- Deandre was the officer who arrested her after she vandalized her ex's car.

Deandre is a widower with a teenage son. He moved to town after his wife's death so his in-laws could help with his son. He is determined to succeed with the revitalization project that he hopes will solve the problems of bored teenagers.

Neither Sheri nor Deandre anticipated the attraction that flared between them. I liked their connection and how well they understood each other's lives and challenges. Their growing feelings for each other are complicated by his son DJ's attempts to keep them apart.

I liked how the author handled the issue of the teens and DJ. It was a realistic look at the attitudes of the teens and the adults around them. There were some tense moments with DJ that Sheri dealt with well.

The problems with DJ cause Sheri and Deandre to step back from their growing relationship. I liked their honesty with each other. I loved seeing what brought them back together and their look toward the future.

As Usual Synithia Williams bring on the family drama in her latest novel “A Little Bit Of Love.” Mrs. Williams novels would not be such great best sellers if there was no family drama. This a second chance romantic journey for Deandre and Sheri in a small-town community. Sheri and Deandre share a past as he arrested her after a breakup when she was younger. Deandre is a lieutenant cop, widowed with a teenaged son DJ. Sheri owns and operates a restaurant. Deandre and Sheri find themselves banding together to work on a community project. As the two are working closely together and spending time together they are enjoying their shared time together and newfound love. With Deandre working on the community project this leaves him little time for his teenaged son DJ who is working hard at keeping Sheri and his dad Deandre apart.

This is an entertaining read that I enjoyed with family drama, romance, second chance at romance, great characters and plot that held me captive. I look forward to reading what Synithia Williams has in store for her readers next.
Is there a second chance at romance for Deandre and Sheri and what is going on with DJ?

I received an ARC via NetGalley and I am leaving my review voluntarily.

"A Little Bit of Love" is a standalone novel set in the same town as the Heart and Soul series. Sheri, a restaurant owner, returns to her hometown to escape her past. Deandre, a widowed cop and single dad, moves there for family support. Years ago, Deandre arrested Sheri for a minor incident. Now, they work together on a town revitalization committee, and their close proximity sparks a romance. Deandre's son, however, tries to keep them apart. Williams’ storytelling and character development shine, making this a highly recommended read for new and long-time fans alike.

A little Bit of Love with a whole lot of drama. I enjoyed this story. The characters were believable and relatable. When I wasn’t reading the story I was thinking about it. Although I was pleased with the direction the couple was taking I wanted more. Perhaps the author was setting readers up for a sequel. I recommend this book as a nice weekend read or beach read.

Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin Special Edition for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book.

Another excellent new release from Synithia Williams, one of my auto-buy authors! I can’t believe she had releases only a week apart! And not even a duet!! These are both excellent books, as always. She’s a brilliant and beautiful writer.

This one, A Little Bit of Love, isn’t part of a series but there’s definitely mention of characters from the Heart and Soul series and it’s in the same town setting as this one (though unconnected, and a standalone). I’ve read Heart and Soul so I caught the mention but anyone who hasn’t will just read names and a show thrown out there. I really liked this link!

Sheri is our main character and she runs a restaurant in town. She left after high school because she wanted to escape some bad blood and memories, but it’s been many years now. Deandre is a cop and widower and single dad. He’s well respected and recently come here after his wife passed for his in-law’s help raising his son. He arrested Sheri when she was younger for a really silly little thing (truly silly… something her silly cousin talked her into).

Deandre is working on revitalizing the south end of town and Sheri is on the committee, so they are paired up and spending time together. They’ve decided that a little thing like his arresting her all those years before shouldn’t make working together on the committee get in the way. All these hours of close proximity are really adding up… and Deandre’s son seems to be taking advantage of that absence and trying to keep them from getting closer, as well.

As always, I totally love Williams’ words and her fantastic storytelling! I highly recommend this one - it was so good M if you’ve never read one of her books before this would be a great one to start with!! If you’re a long-time fan like myself, it’s another great addition to her catalogue. Brilliant!

I received an advance copy from NetGalley and Harlequin Special Edition, and this is my honest feedback.

3.5 stars
I really enjoyed reading this. Sheri and Deandre were such great characters individually and then as a couple. Their chemistry was sizzling off the pages and i couldn’t help but root for them.
The mystery of what Deandre’s son DJ was into was interesting and I did not see it coming. Sheri’s family drama was also highly entertaining( I really dislike her cousin though).
The ending of this however left me very dissatisfied. It took me a couple of minutes after finishing to really sink in that it was over. It was so abrupt , I kept saying “that’s it” over and over. I need some damn closure 😭

Thanks to Harlequin Special Edition and NetGalley for the ARC!

4.5 stars rounded up

A woman who got a second chance and now owns her own restaurant falls for the cop who once arrested her when they work together on a community project in this charming contemporary romance.

Honestly I wasn't sure how this was going to go, but I ended up really liking it. Sheri and Deandre are both working to create positive change in their community while avoiding the pressure to come down hard with an aggressive police presence because of bored teenagers acting up. I loved how their romance developed too. This is great for people who like external conflict in a romance and a relatively low-drama couple. They are mature and communicate well, but Deandre is a widower with a teenager son who tries to sabotage the relationship. I loved how this handled that. There's a great cast of side characters that are fleshed out and humor scattered throughout. Definitely one to pick up! I generally love Synithia's books. I received a copy of this book for review via NetGalley, all opinions are my own.

Their first meeting changed her life

Their second one changes everything

Sheri “Li’l Bit” Thomas will do anything to help revitalize the community she loves—even work with Lieutenant Deandre King, the cop who once arrested her after a stupid breakup stunt. Opening her new restaurant is a great first step. Partnering with the handsome widowed dad on an outreach event for at-risk youth and businesses is an even better one. But neither counts on the attraction simmering between them—or the potential problems with Deandre’s teen son. Is Sheri’s past a bad example for him, indicative of drama to come? Or is she the mom—and wife—they never knew they needed?

Includes a bonus story, About Last Night!

The book delivers on the promise of the synopsis and the cover-no surprises there. The appeal, to me, is that this is a traditional Harlequin novel that I grew up with-and there is something comforting about that. All told, this is an enjoyable and quick way to spend an afternoon. I also enjoyed the bonus novella, which pays off a couple that we've seen in other books.

I am never into cop stories but I love Synithia Williams so much I was willing to overlook it. Lil Bit was so cute and she definitely was a cute character. I love small town romance with drama

The love story started off good but was rushed. The angst for the couple could’ve been developed more so the story fell flat. I applaud the author for not using cheating or secret baby mom as angst for the couple. I just feel cheated because the build up of the romance was not adequate to me.

Harlequin - Romance, Harlequin Special Edition and NetGalley provided an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed here are solely my own.

This is a small town romance with some fairly surprising third act drama. Sheri and Deandre are likable lead characters with believable chemistry and the community revitalization plot is handled well.

Overall, an enjoyable read.
