This one was not for me, but it's not the worst book in the world. The flimsy plot wasn't really holding my interest. Amy kept being repetitive in her thoughts, and it was messing with the flow of the story. The main character Cassie was on my nerves right from the beginning, and I'm not sure if it was because I wasn't a fan of the narrators voice or because I hate when wives cower to their husbands in stories. I'm giving this one two stars.
Thanks to Netgalley for allowing me to listen to this ALC.

Very fun read. Thank you Net Galley for the advanced copy of the Audio version of this book coming out Tuesday March 19! What a great set of twists and turns. You may find yourself gasping or yelling at the characters for their decisions but overall enjoyable read. The narrators did a great job getting the emotion and suspense in the book.

I listened to the audiobook and the narrators were great. Dramatic, portrayed emotions and all around matched the tone of the book. The author described the characters well and set the scenes so clearly you could almost see it. The storyline was twisty and everything made sense by the end, highly recommend this one!

"I Let Her In" was a twisty thriller that was a roller coaster ride. Maria Frankland is a new to me author and this wont be my last book by her. I guessed some parts, but overall it contained intriguing twists. This was excellently narrated with a clear and smooth tone that enhanced the overall story. It held my attention thoughout. A fast paced, twisty, shocking, and exiting read. 4 stars!

Thanks to Bookouture Audio and NetGalley for this five star ALC copy of I Let Her In!

WOWWW! I Let Her In is a fast-paced mystery with twists and turns until the very end.

Cassie and Jon’s relationship seems a bit rough from the beginning. She swears someone is following her and he thinks she’s crazy. He comes off as a bit of an egotistical prick who is controlling of his wife, but she loves him nonetheless. They move into his inherited childhood home, but Cassie still feels like she’s being watched. Cassie tries to befriend the neighbor, Becca, but something is off between her and Jon. Cassie then meets a kind stranger, Amy, that she invites over for coffee who ends up taking on a position to walk their dog. Amy and Cassie eventually become pretty friendly, but Cassie doesn’t know the secret Amy is hiding…

This book had me thinking so many different things were going to happen up until the very end! The character and relationship development was great - we continuously got more and more information on the characters and how their lives were all intertwined throughout the entire book.

The build up to Amy, Jon and Becca’s stories were extremely suspenseful, yet easy to follow. I listened to the whole book in a day! I didn’t want to put it down. The ending was everything I could have wanted it to be. Easy 5 stars!

Narrators were Kristin Atherton and Emma Swan. They did a decent job with it, but I had difficulty telling
apart characters by voices. Also, there is a lot of internal dialogue immediately followed by dialogue with another person, and it was nearly impossible to tell where one stopped and the other began. Set in England, and the narrators have British accents and use many British slang terms I had to look up.

With thanks to Netgalley, Bookouture Audio, and Maria Frankland for providing this audiobook ARC so that I could give you my honest review.

When Cassie moves into her husband's Jon's old family home, she thinks her family is able to start fresh and get away from the feeling of being watched, a feeling she knows all too well from their last house. Cassie makes friends with Amy who later becomes a dog walker for Suki, Cassie's dog. As Cassie tries to get to know Amy more, she's becomes very vague and suspicious, leaving Cassie to question who really is Amy. One day, Cassie's son Teddy is taken and it all begins to fall into place.

I really enjoyed this dual-POV thriller! It had me gripped from the very beginning and had me on the edge of my seat right until the very end. I loved the twists and turns this book brought! I didn't expect the ending at all which I think is why I gave it a higher rating. The narrator was perfect for this story and made it so much easier to listen too.

I really didn't like Jon at all and questioned why on Earth Cassie stayed with him. It's apparent that they were never going the power couple Cassie craved and Jon is really just a controlling, aggressive man child.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookotoure Audio for sending me a copy of this one to review. This was my first Frankland book and it certainly won't be my last!

Maria Frankland's latest psychological thriller, I LET HER IN, is a twisty, unpredictable domestic suspense with plenty of dark secrets, lies, and deception to keep the pages turning— and two jaw-dropping twists that will have your head spinning!

WELCOME TO CHERRY TREE LANE
Perfect lies can become perfect nightmares.

A dream home becomes a nightmare when past and present secrets converge in this darkly sublime, entertaining thriller.

Edgy, diabolical, and suspenseful! Frankland deftly explores twisted family dynamics and devastating secrets in suburbia in this stunning novel that will shock readers by the final page. INTENSE and entertaining!

Set in England, we meet Cassie, Jon, their son Teddy, 4 years old, and their German shepherd dog Suki.

Jon is in the oil business and comes from money. His parents (Jack & Elsie) died, and the prestigious home (The Tolbeck Cottage) on Cherry Tree Lane was left to the grandson, Teddy; however, the parents were allowed to live there.

Cassie is excited about the new neighborhood and new beginnings. After staying home with Teddy, she is starting a new HR job and is glad to be in a new environment. She felt like someone was watching/following her in their old neighborhood.

Soon after moving in, she meets Amy at the park, hires her as a dog walker, and occasionally watches Teddy. There is also the mysterious neighbor Becca, who lives next door and cares for her elderly mother. Something seems off. Jon is controlling and seems to spend a lot of time next door. He thinks she hired Amy too quickly without a full background check. Is he having an affair?

Cassie begins investigating Becca, and something seems off with Amy. Then, someone takes Teddy from the daycare without her permission. She must find her son! She is devastated and frantic. Who is Amy, and what is her motive?

Then Cassie learns about the murder of a young girl. A party from ten years earlier at the home they are now living in. A party Jon had while his parents were away ended in a drug given to a young woman who died. A young girl everyone loved, leaving two grief-stricken parents behind.

Told from POVs: Cassie and Amy and a few chapters by Becca. Everyone is keeping SECRETS! Revenge, obsession, and MURDER.

I LET HER IN is riveting, dark, and sinister. The author cleverly keeps the tension high in this twisty, addictive thriller, keeping you guessing about the relationships between all the characters and how they are connected. Two unexpected wicked twists in this high-stakes thriller are impressive.

AUDIOBOOK: I enjoyed reading the e-book and listening to the audio narrated by Emma Swan and Kristin Atherton for a chilling performance, making the characters come alive!

My first book by the author, and I look forward to reading more! For fans of Big Little Lies, Freida McFadden, Miranda Rijks, and KL Slater.

Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for gifting ARC and ALC for my honest opinion.

📖 I Let Her In by Maria Frankland

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - This book had its grip on me; I did not want to stop listening to it! Frankland did an excellent job creating characters that make you want to know more, while using reverse dramatic irony so you’re the one left out of the loop (well, along with Cassie). Written from multiple perspectives, you really get a firsthand experience of the desperation, fear, and anger felt by these characters.

Side note, I also loved being able to listen to the British accents on the audiobook and hear how Emma Swan and Kristin Atherton performed the different women!

I enjoyed this book, but would not read it again. If you enjoy psychological thrillers, I’d recommend it!

Listened to via @netgalley as an ARC. This novel will be published on March 19, 2024 (and is currently $3.99 on Amazon)!

Thank you Bookouture, Marie Frankland and Netgalley for the audio Arc of I let her in.
Narrated by Kristin Atherton, Emma Swan

This is a great medium paced thriller, which has you twisting one way, only to spin you right around again. Told from 3 POV of women you live near each other. Had me on the edge of my seat and kept me listening right to the end.

Kristin Atherton, Emma Swan did a great job in keeping the 3 women distinctive with their own personalities within the narrative. I did listen to the book at 1.75 speed which is just a personal preference with some of the netgalley audios as I find some of the pauses between chapters are a little long. Ill be booking forward to reading more of Maria's books in the future.

We meet Cassie, Jon and their son Teddy, who have newly moved to the house Jon grew up in, after the loss of both of his parents. Cassie is excited for a fresh start in a new neighbourhood and tries to befriend the neighbour Becca, however it is proving more difficult than she'd of liked. Cassie then decides, against Jon's wishes, that it's time for her to head back into the work force and meets Amy, who she hires to walk their dog Suki during the day.
Tolbeck Cottage really is proving to be a wonderful new start, isn't it?

Told in 3 different POV's, Cassie, Amy and Becca this domestic thriller had me hooked from the start.
Starting off a bit slow, the story builds and before you know it things start clicking into place.
The narrators we're great and kept me engrossed. 2x speed had me done in about 4 hours!
As this was my first Maria Frankland book, I've already adding the rest to my lists. I really enjoyed her writing.

Thanks to the author, publisher and Netgalley for this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Highly quality family suspence thriller told from the pov of the yhree womn involved. The wife the fog sittrr and tge next door neightbour. Narrated perfectly by both narrators this is a story about a lot of tough issues revenge, justice, anxiety and control. How far would you go to protect a secret?
I enjoyed this . It took a while for the story to reveal its self but the pov style kept me listening.as the story was revealed. There were moments when it sounded like the plot of a hollywood movie and not realistic . From the time thr true story was revealed it seemed to be over too quickly. It was a short listen.could have done with a male pov chapter.. itwasvwell written just too long to get to the point.andcended too quickly.thank you netgallery and publisher and author and narrator for this cracking 4 star listen

Thank you Bookouture Audio and NetGalley for ALC of the book.

Jon, Cassie, their son Teddy and their dog just moved into Jon’s old neighborhood where he grew up. Cassie befriends Amy during one on her walks with Teddy and offers her a dog walking job. And then Cassie gets curious about Jon’s past and old secrets.

This was a good suspense book. I liked that some obvious “secrets” that the reader might have figured out early weren’t kept too long.

Very much an enjoyable suspense. Not so much a thriller but certainly kept me on the edge of my seat. Just when I thought I had it figured out, I didn’t 😂.

The audiobook was great! I enjoyed the narrators very much and thought they encompassed the story very well.

This is an edgy, gripping and tightly plotted domestic thriller that raises a number of issues (poverty, class origins, randomness of opportunity, the fragility of a happy life), that will make you stop and think. Wonderfully developed characters, that you will love or otherwise love to hate, and a fast-moving story line leaves you breathless and at the edge of your seat and makes this a riveting read. I couldn’t put it down. This thriller grabs you from the first page and doesn’t give you a moments rest until the last page.

The end had a satisfying, realistic conclusion; but enough justice for everyone.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio who provided me with a copy of this book. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
