OMG this was an eerie feeling kind of a book!

Cassie & Jon move to his parents home, and while they are settling down Cassie ends up making friends with Amy - Amy who claims to have lost a pet recently, who says she can take Cassie's German Shepherd Suki for her walks and be there whenever Cassie might have an emergency.
As Cassies tries to learn more about Amy, there seems to be something off - Amy is very protective of her details, and shares only very minimal info. Cassie doesn't realize something is wrong until she finds an article online which says something different about Amy's past!
By the time Cassie tries to fit in the puzzle pieces her child goes missing - but who took him?

When the search for her son Teddy begins more secrets from the past come tumbling out - this was a very gripping audiobook!
My 1st book by Maria Frankland and I was super impressed!

Thanks to Netgalley, Bookouture Audio and Maria Frankland for the audio ARC in exchance for an unbiased review.

This was a fast paced and entertaining thriller. My heart was racing while listening to this audiobook. The narrators, Kristin Atherton and Emma Swan, used all the right intonations to bring this story to life. They gave off creepy and intense just when it was necessary.

This was my first book by Frankland, and it did not let me down! Jon's mom passes away, and Jon moves back into his childhood home with his wife and their son Teddy. Amy befriends Cassie, and Cassie trusts her with their dog, and eventually their son. Throw in a seemingly nosey neighbor named Rebecca, and what follows is DRAMA! That's when things get crazy. While I did figure out some of the twists, this was still a gripping listen that caught me off guard at various points. I really enjoyed this one.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for this ALC in exchange for my honest review.

Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for the copy of the audiobook.
This is my first book by Maria Frankland and it was a good solid dive into her thrillers.
The story is mainly a dual point of view with the 2 main characters Cassie and Amy.
The plot:
Cassie happily married with a young child has just moved in to her well to do husband's childhood home after inheriting this grand home. She soon meets Amy a friendly local whilst dog walking. Since Cassie is new in town she befriends Amy and offers her a dog walking job whilst she's working.
We soon realise all is not as it seems as Amy seems to know John and their neighbour and is hiding a secret from their past. As Amy gets too comfortable in her gig as dog walker and confidant to a trusting Cassie we soon learn all is not as it seems with Amy or in Cassie's own home. And why is they new neighbour so unfriendly towards them?
This was supposed to be a fresh new start and end up being anything but.

An interesting and captivating listen well narrated by albeit slight annoying raspy (like a smokers voice) for Cassie's character.
An easy listen with a few reveals (obvious enough as the story unfolds) and just the small hint of an extra twist towards the end!

I Let Her In is written by Maria Frankland and narrated by Kristin Atherton and Emma Swan and was an okay listen. I did not care for the narration of Cassie. Cassie is supposed to be in her late 20s, however the narrator sounds like she is 60 years old.

Cassie and Jon move back to Jon's hometown after the death of his mother. They move from their larger home to a quaint cottage they inherited from Jon's parents. Cassie is excited for this new opportunity to meet people and to go back to work after several years of being a stay-at-home mom.

In their last house, Cassie felt like she was being watched. She was anxious. Jon said she was paranoid.

Upon moving to their new house, their dog, Suki, barks unexpectedly inside the home, and Cassie begins to feel like she is being watched, again. Jon, again, says she is being paranoid.

The next-door neighbor, Becca, is not friendly, and after seeing Jon and Becca fighting on Becca's porch, Cassie starts to think that Jon and Becca have a storied past.

Cassie meets a woman at the park, Amy, who she quickly befriends. Cassie invites Amy into her family's life and home.

But does Cassie really know Amy? Jon wants to know if she got a background check.

There are a lot of characters and a lot of things going on. Cassie soon realizes that she does not know Amy, Becca, or Jon at all. What is going on in this new town? One thing that is clear is that she has to get out of there.

Thank you Netgalley for the advance copy! This was the first audiobook I listened to by Maria Frankland and she did a wonderful job writing the story.

This book looks into the lives of Cassie and her husband Jon as they return to Jon's childhood home with their son Teddy and German shepherd. Cassie meets Amy at the playground and she becomes Cassie's only friend. Does Amy know Jon? If so how? Is someone watching Cassie?

This book gripped me from the start and had many twists and turns! The narrators also did a wonderful job portraying each character and made it easy to follow along with the story.

“Nobody cared that I was innocent”
That is literally the first line of the book and already I was intrigued!

This book has me on the edge of my seat. If there’s one thing Maria knows how to do, it’s grab your attention and keep a firm grip on it.

I was struggling with the characters at first, I read half the book and honestly, I still couldn’t bring myself to care for the characters, I still didn’t really understand their motives and they seemed kinda one dimensional but then I grew attached to them as the chapters went by.

The pacing was brilliant. The writing was really good
I mean listen “The early morning sun casts long shadows over the street and the distant bird song creates an eerie contrast to the gravity of Becca’s revelation”
The NARRATION was even better. Seriously, it was insanely good.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for gifting me this ALC of the audiobook to review.

The book is marketed as “A totally gripping psychological thriller with completely unexpected twists”. Unfortunately, this is not what I found. I thought that the twists were very predictable and although I like feeling smart, I would have wished that the intricacies of the “case” were a little more complex. I don’t like reading the book blurbs beforehand, because they often misrepresent the book or spoil too much of the story, but I’m sure most people do, so it does not help that what is mentioned in the book description (Teddy’s abduction) only happens at the 60% mark of the book. As far as psychological thrillers go the story in itself, as well as the suspense was kept pretty light.

The main characters of the book were not super likeable either, but I enjoyed that Cassie, after being too trusting in the beginning, was working with logic and stood up for herself and Teddy.

The narrators did an excellent job and their voices and accents were very clearly distinguishable from each other.

I Let Her In by Maria Frankland is an entertaining book that keeps readers/listeners guessing until the end. Everything is revealed in ways that make sense and build just enough tension while keeping us wanting more.

The only reason I deducted a star is because I don't fully understand Cassie's stance. It's clear she is an abused woman that has normalized Jon's behavior, but only to a point. Is she really a strong woman? Does she want the marriage? Is she really scared? There are too many inconsistencies with her words and actions that I don't know what I'm "supposed" to think of her. That being said, I will definitely read more by Maria as I was overall entertained.

Kristin Atherton as Amy is too dry in comparison to Emma Swan as Cassie, who brings all the personality to the book. My only gripe is that it's hard to envision these characters being 27, 28, and 29 as Emma's voice sounds like someone in their 30s/40s.

Thank you to Bookouture Audio for providing me with an ALC.

Infuriating. I wish she was just a little bit smarter and not as much of a push over. But I get it, that’s the type of woman that would get caught by that type of man. The fact it made me as angry as it did means it was written well. The narrators were pretty good, I enjoyed listening to it. Definitely recommend if you love a thriller that makes you wanna scream at the characters. If only they could know all that the reader knows.

Thanks to Bookouture Audio, NetGalley, author Maria Frankland, and narrators Kristin Atherton and Emma Swan for the chance to listen to this exciting new audiobook. When Cassie meets Amy she thinks she has found a wonderful new friend to help her with settling into her new life in her husband’s childhood home. But Amy has a big secret and secrets have a way of destroying the happiness of those around us—especially when it comes to murder. Maria Frankland has won me over with this book. I couldn’t stop reading it until the end — the ending was quite a surprise to me. Absolutely brilliant story and excellent character building I really enjoyed seeing the characters grow and evolve. Definitely one to curl up with a hot cup of tea and sit back and enjoy.

Quick read. Cassie, Jon and their young son Teddy move into Jon's family home. There is more to the history of the house than Cassie knew. Cassie makes some questionable decisions but book was enjoyable overall.

I listen to audiobooks at 1.75x and at that speed I did not enjoy one of the narrators.

A very good read with a fast pace and real investment in the characters. Finished in two days and would recommend to anyone who enjoys fast-paced domestic, psychological thrillers.

Listened to this in a few sittings, didn't lose my interest once.
I wasn't quite sure where it would go, but knew it would somehow be between John and Becca.
Good characters, I liked Amy / Amelia, and felt sorry for Cassie and Teddy.
Kept me interested, decent story, would listen to or read more by this author.

This one had me on the edge of my seat. Very cleverly written domestic thriller. Leaves the question, are your friends and neighbors really who you think they are? You'll want to read this one in one go.

Cassie and Jon move with their son Teddy into his old family home. Here they should be safe and happy as a family. Amy comes into their lives but may not be all she se3ms.

Well paced, well written and well narrated novel (I listened to the audiobook). Cassie does everything how Jon likes but now she is finding more about him and his past life that brings fear and danger into their lives. Who is Amy and what does she really want? What did happen in this house years ago? Read and find out.

A fast-paced twisty thriller that I couldn’t put down. I had heard great things about this one and it didn’t disappoint. The narrators were fantastic and really added to making this book enjoyable.
