I Let Her In was a fast paced, easy to read psychological thriller that had me guessing until the very end! I highly recommend this book.
I Let Her In by Maria Frankland
(Narrated by Kristin Atherton, Emma Swan)
The twist is just mind-blowing! I love this kind of domestic thriller, like being watched, perfect couple from the outside and something about the neighborhood.
This is the thriller that hits all the thrillers should be. The narrators did a perfect job. I like their pace and intonation. I was just hooked.
Many thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for my copy.

Ok, this one had my heart racing. Cassie and Jon’s life may seem idyllic from the outside, but once Amy enters the picture, things quickly begin to unravel and long kept secrets come to light.
I had never read anything by this author but the description of the book intrigued me, so I thought I would give it a chance. And it was definitely worth it! There were some twists I anticipated, but there were still things that took me by surprise. I definitely recommend this one!
Thanks NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for the chance to listen to and review this audiobook.
Mark your calendars for March 19th to add this one to your TBR. I Let Her In is an absolutely delicious thriller! The books begins with a hopeful promise of a fresh start….but is it? Not long after a move to Cherry Tree Lane, the feeling of being watched by an outside intruder begins again. Like many moms, Cassie feels isolated and lost in motherhood, which allows for an authentic connection with the character from the start. She is looking forward to finding new friends and asserting herself back into the working world. Her hopes continue to be high when she meets a new friend Amy, who isn’t who she portrays herself to be and the mystery unravels. Both the writing and narration of the audiobook are beautiful and breezy with an underlying, gentle sense of unease that gradually increases as the plot builds.
Will post 3/6 on Instagram.
The hardest reviews to write are those for 'meh' books. You know the ones - you read them, you move on, and there just isn't much to say. I requested the audio arc of I Let Her In from Netgalley cause that title, that cover and I'm a sucker for everything domestic thriller-ish. This one met all my requirements, but I had to force myself to get to the ending (glad I did), and throughout the journey, I was not as invested as I need to be in order to love a book.
Based on a unhappily (to me) married couple, Cassie and Jon, inherit his childhood home and are back in a neighborhood he should never have returned to. Frankly, that for me was perplexing and I couldn't get past that necessary plot point. As is to be expected in neighborhood based thrillers, there are several folks we immediately suspect of shady behavior, and several twists and turns. All the elements, but just an ok read.
I don't need to love every character in a book, but I certainly need at least one to root for and there isn't a single character (even the kid) that I liked or cared about. Overall, this one is a quick beach read I would not pick up again. Rounded up to a 3.
This is my first book from Maria Frankland, expectations were high after seeing rave reviews of her other books.
Cassie, Jon and their young son Teddy have recently moved. Cassie has suffered with a paranoid feeling she's being watched and hopes the move will alleviate this.Cassie needs to find a dog walker and childcare so she can get back to work. She meets Amy, who may be the perfect candidate.
The audiobook narration was fine, I preferred the Cassie chapters, voiced with a convincingly Northern Denise Welch-esque huskiness. When the Amy voice did Cassie's voice I found it slightly off putting, but that's a minor quibble.
The story was quite straightforward, there are some big twists and unexpected turns. I do have a niggle with one of the historic events central to the plot, which unfortunately was quite prominent in the plot. The story, pace and twists do pick up towards the end.
Entertaining enough, but not one I'd get excited about.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture Audio
People can randomly meet and become friends in the blink of an eye. Sometimes the meeting isn't so random. Sometimes that friend is just a little too pushy. Should you really let her in? Cassie is a mother to a toddler and is married to a jerk. When her mother-in-law passes the family moves to the home her husband grew up in. Cassie thinks this is the new start the family needs. After moving Cassie meets Amy and hires her to be a dog walker. Amy has lied about her knowledge of dogs. What else has she lied about? This is an excellent page turner. It has just the right amount of tension to keep you wanting more. Then last twist caught me off guard and was a bit of a surprise.
ARC audiobook provided in exchange for an honest review.
The two female narrators did a wonderful job with the narration on this book! Both were clear and concise and I was always able to tell which character was talking! The story itself left me wanting more and it felt lacking a bit. The book was set up to have mind bending twists and turns but I didn’t get any of that. I found most of it pretty predictable and just hoping there was something big coming that never came. This book wouldn’t be anywhere near the top of my list for recommendations but that’s only my opinion.
Thank you to @NetGalley and @bookouture for my free advanced readers copy. I listened to the audiobook and the narrators were great! I used 1.75 speed so took me only 3.5/4 hours to finish.
'I Let Her In' is a TWISTY psychological thriller about a married couple, Cassie and Jon, that move into Jon's childhood home after the passing of his parents. Jon is demanding and controlling, choosing his wife's clothes and undermines her decisions. He is also filthy rich and in the oil business.
Cassie has a new job and is finally going back to work after having her son, Teddy. She rushes to find a dog sitter and runs into her new friend, Amy, at a secondhand shop. She and Amy get along well, so Cassie takes her up on her offer to pet sit Suki.
Amy seems too good to be true and Cassie's nosy neighbor, Rebecca, a not so friendly childhood friend of Jon, warns that Amy spends a little too much time in their home. Jon, very suspicious and controlling, demands a background check and that's where things start to get interesting.
Rebecca, Jon and Amy all have secrets they are not telling. What do they have to hide? Do their secrets intertwine?
There is a DOUBLE TWIST at the end, that left me SHOCKED! Really enjoyed this book and rate it 3.5 stars but rounded up. Recommend to Nicole Trope fans!
The production of this book was brilliantly narrated by Emma Swan and Kristin Atherton. A beautiful and intense collaboration with a sinister undertone added, which brought the book alive. It's a fast-paced , plot driven domestic thriller that was absolutely gripping from start to finish.
I was instantly caught up in the tangled web Miss Frankland created for our main characters, and I was on the edge of my seat for all of it.
There were several reveals and multiple surprises. I guessed a few but was so engrossed in the story that I barely noticed, and that ending I didn't see coming!
Thank you to Netgally , Bookature Audio, and the Author for the advanced copy. My review was voluntary.
A Well written psychological thriller with unexpected twist. I never saw it coming! Gripping plot & great narration.
Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for the ALC.
This was an ok read for me. There wasn’t anything that made it bad, but nothing that made it really good either. The plot was interesting, but predictable. It was a quick and easy read.

Plot driven fast paced book.
Thank you to author, publisher, NetGalley for advanced audio copy. This is an honest voluntary review.
Cassie is annoying with her assumptions about what Amy is thinking but John is the literal worse. I related to Amy. At first.
I do like how Cassie is pointing out how women relate to one another (children, husbands, husbands careers, and houses.)
Amy is such a weird gross girl.
I had a blast listening to this one for sure. The narrators were great for this role. I won't lie. I was instantly hooked on this.
I Let Her In by Maria Frankland and narrated by Kristin Atherton and Emma Swan is a chilling thriller that is every mothers nightmare
Brilliantly read by Kristin Atherton and Emma Swan, this dual POV is outstanding in production value and recording talent. I really like the relatable human nuances, and the fact that both narrators have a natural flow throughout. It is a phenomenal collaboration
I was absolutely gripped from the first minute and could not pull myself away. This audiobook will take you all around the houses in a labarynthine narrative that will not relent for a moment. You think you know where you are at and then everything you think you understand is flipped on its head again
The narrative is so complex, with great insight to the human psyche and obsession. Frankland is an outstanding author, able to pull at every thread of humanity to take you on a thrill ride and throw you off at the end. Absolutely epic
Thank you very much to Netgalley, Bookouture Audio, the author Maria Frankland and narrators Kristin Atherton and Emma Swan for this epic ALC. My review is left voluntarily and all opinions are my own
This is my second book by Maria and I have to say the description was better than the book. They sounded super intense, but I found them long and drug out. I ended up listening to the first part, some of the middle, and then going to the end to see what the real story was. Cassie meets Amy and thinks she has met a new friend, when in fact she is from her husband's past. Cassie learns who her husband really is when her son is kidnapped. Who is Jon? Who is Amy? Is Cassie safe?
Thank you to NetGalley for giving me the arc of this book in audio format!
This book questions what happens when the past gets mixed with your present. How marriage and trust can break down and question if you really know your partner. Is your stalker your protector? The character depth in this book as well as the mystery kept me glued to my earphones waiting to see what twist was about to come next.
This is my first Maria Frankland book but it won’t be my last
Really enjoyed this fast paced domestic thriller. It was a bit predictable at times, but I enjoyed the final chapters after the predictability came to a head, but excellent nonetheless. The narrator’s done an amazing job of building the suspense and really made this unputdownable.
4 well deserved stars. 🌟
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook in return for an honest review.
One of my very few 5 star ratings. This author is new to me but had me completely hooked through the whole read. Following the perfect life of Cassie and her husband, the different POVs uncover a not so perfect past of Cassie’s husband. The story includes tons of entanglements and twists both expected and unexpected. Just enough of a thriller without being a scary read. Would definitely recommend
4.5 rounded up. A twisty, fun popcorn thriller perfect for fans of Frieda McFadden and Daniel Hurst!
Premise - after her toddler son inherits an expensive house from his wealthy grandfather, Cassie and her husband move into the new home. Cassie is eager to return to work and restart her life post-baby phase, which John isn’t at all supportive of (he wants a trophy wife and more children). Cassie stands up for herself (rare instance) and hire Amy to walk the dog while she’s at work. Amy wants Cassie’s life, husband, and child, and she’s hiding a big secret, one with murderous consequences…
