As usual, Teagan Hunter does not disappoint with her DM banter! Was it fun Yes. Was it hot? Yes. 3rd act breakup? Yes. Did that ruin the experience? Absolutely not! Thank you Netgalley, Teagan Hunter and publisher for the opportunity to read this ARC!

2.5 stars. The premise was innovative and the protagonists’ career context was interesting to read about. Overall, though, this didn’t do it for me - it was pleasant but I wasn’t engaged in the storytelling and I became less and less invested the further in I got. The characters seemed like nice enough people but fairly two dimensional, so it was hard to feel very strongly about them or what happened to them. I did like the epistolatory element of the book but once the protagonists met in person, their ‘banter’ was often pretty dull. Also, it seemed to me as though a lot of their inner monologues in the first part of the book were whining about the publicity demands of their chosen professions. There were certainly valid points being made here, but they were made repeatedly and this repetition did get annoying and made the characters appear somewhat out of touch.

SPOILER** Olive’s response to the third act crisis didn’t make much sense to me. Breaking up with Jude would just make it look like she really did want Jasper instead, and the harm to her career that was already done would just be magnified. And Jude just stopped caring about his career at all to wallow in drunken, unwashed self-pity for a week after the split? That level of unprofessionalism doesn’t ring true for a motivated actor who’s been in the business since childhood. **SPOILER

A further round of editing would have tightened up the writing and caught some errors.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC.

A cute lighthearted love story. This book was a decent read, however I found the characters a little two dimensional and would have loved to have them a little bit more fleshed out with more depth to them. I feel like all I know about Olive is she is a plus size model who once had chickens and Jude is a famous actor from a famous family.

That being said if you want something that’s easygoing with plenty of banter between the MCs then this book definitely fits the bill!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

The DM Diaries is a witty pen pal, secret identity rom-com!

Olive O'Brien, a plus-size model and Instagram influencer, never expected that sliding into Jasper Rafferty's DMs would lead to a digital connection. As Jude Rafferty takes over his brother's social media, he's intrigued by Olive's authenticity amidst Hollywood's facade. When their relationship deepens, secrets unravel.

I love a good secret pen pal trope and Teagan Hunter does it well with The DM Diaries! I loved the banter between Olive and Jude. Their DMs made me laugh out loud--from aliens to chicken puns! I also found that Teagan did a great job with body self-image and sustainability representation. I loved how true Olive stays to her mission and beliefs.

Besides Olive and Jude, the secondary characters truly made the book enjoyable. Olive's best friend is someone I'd love to have on my side and Jude's love with his siblings makes me think of my own.

This is a 4/5 recommendation for me!

Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for the ARC in return for my honest opinion.

I had so much fun reading this rom-com between model Olive and actor Jude, who connect through the direct message inbox of his superstar brother’s instagram account (which Olive has been using as her own personal diary). Both with a lot to prove, Olive and Jude build a connection but are faced with challenges ranging from mistaken identity to the lack of privacy afforded by fame.

I flew through this book, and I really appreciated just how human all of the characters felt. Both protagonists were complex and managed to be relatable, despite them living in a world of paparazzi and premieres. The side characters added so much to the book, in particular Dylan and Annie. I will definitely be on the lookout for a sequel!

This novel was the equivalent of a comfy blanket and glass of wine. It was so easy to read and so enjoyable from start to finish. This will definitely be a reread whenever I need a good comfort book😊 can’t wait to read more by Teagan!

I loved that The Dm diaries just simply wanted me to read and enjoy it. It’s fun, sweet, a little bit sexy and memorable. We need more books like this in our lives.

This was cute!!

I don’t think it’s going to be anything memorable for me but it was definitely enjoyable.
I don’t know why but the beginning confused me a bit (even though it’s outlined in the summary of the book) but I wasn’t sure how Jude and Olive were supposed to be the love interests. But then it became clear to me quickly after the fourth chapter.

An extremely cute celebrity romance! I had read several of Teagan Hunter’s sports romances before, which I had quite liked, but I enjoyed this one even more.

Olive is an Instagram plus-size model who is dedicated to sustainable and inclusive fashion. For the last year, she has also been using hotshot actor Jasper’s DM as her journal. He doesn’t respond, and she keeps on writing to him about the little and big things in her life. After an interview gone wrong, Jude somehow ends up taking control of his brother Jasper’s instagram account… and he replies to Olive. While letting her believing he’s Jasper.

It took me a few chapters to get into it as it, but once I did I was fully invested in Olive and Jude’s story. I was quite happy that the catfishing situation did not go on for too long, and I felt that the coffee truck coincidence was a little big too big (NY isn’t that small…) but their romance was very cute and I loved how they were both open with each other and with their feelings.

This book had me absolutely giddy! I couldn’t stop smiling the entire time I was reading. Teagan Hunter writes such great banter, and I was absolutely living for the sass between these two. Plus I’m such a sucker for anonymous penpals and loved how they connected over messages.

I loved seeing their relationship develop, first as friends and confidants, and later as more. Jude was a total cinnamon roll and fell so hard for Olive. (Seriously, he's the sweetest!) And Olive was a totally amazing strong badass model crushing her goals and living her dreams. The side characters were also really great. I loved seeing the relationship between Jude and his siblings.

This was such a cute and lighthearted read. I highly recommend it, especially if you like books that have lots of fun banter, follow celebrities, and/or have an epistolary element.

The DM Diaries by T. Hunter, published by Montlake is a witty and fun read. It's like coming home, snuggling on the couch with a good book, just heartwarming.
Olive and Jude are a fantastic couple and their meet cute is just that, cute.
Jude is a sweet hero who'll do everything for Olive. And Olive is a strong heroine who knows what she wants and how to get it. An all around beautiful novel, 5 stars.
Blurb:
Falling in love with a guy like this is easy. Finally meeting him is a different story in a funny, flirty, and emotional romantic comedy about celebrity, secrets, and plus-sized dreams.

Olive O’Brien is a plus-size influencer with half a million followers and big dreams. And she’s feeling the pressure to stand out while staying true to herself. To cope, Olive finds solace in an unexpected the DMs of Jasper Rafferty, the world’s hottest movie star, where she feels safe to share her hopes, fears, and secrets because it’s not like he’ll read them. Until he does. Kind of.

Career-wise, Jasper’s younger brother, Jude, is in free fall. After an interview gone wrong, Jude now has the thankless job of managing his brother’s social media accounts to help reboot his own image. Olive’s messages are unexpected, and her wit and vulnerability catch his interest. How can “Jasper” not respond? And how long can Jude keep up the ruse?

As the DMs get flirtier and more personal, the bigger question is what’ll happen when Olive finds out she’s fallen for a fraud. It might not be what either of them expects.

This story was a surprise all around! I follow Teagan Hunter pretty closely and didn't know she had a Montlake book coming out, but grabbed it immediately when I saw it pop up! I will read anything she writes and this did not disappoint.

I loved this story so much. It did take me a minute to get into it, but once the story hooked me (around chapter 4/5) I couldn't put it down! It was a bit different than her indie books (re: spice was low) but the story was strong and plot didn't linger. This book definitely read like a rollercoaster, with lots of little plot points peaking and fizzling just when another starts to ascend.

I love the coffee truck musings, and how that carried into the relationship that built between Jude and Olive. I also loved how Jude's family played into the story giving us lots of side character plot meat and making me want a book 2!!! And I loved Olive's found family vibes, Annie and the elusive Remi and comedic relief Ms. Hammish. I thought the balance here was great and I really enjoyed the differences in Jude and Olive's backstory.

My icks were few, just the incredible predictability, slow start and lack of spice. Nothing that took away from the plot but I could have used a good surprise/shock factor to balance out the 3rd Act Breakup.

Overall, Bravo Teagan!! I am so excited to have read this and look forward to what you write next. Your acknowledgements had me tearing up, so happy for you!!!

This is just the sweetest sunshining through five-star read. I love Olive, she just has that extra something something, it shines through with her interactions with Annie as well as her neighbour and Annies’s niece, they all show us different sides of the same person. One who would get upset about someone pushing in front of the que, but when its coffee, don’t we all go a little feral. I completely got where Olive was coming from, when you lose someone so close to you, it does make you hesitant to ever get that involved again, and yes being with a movie star would be a whirlwind, but whirlwinds turn into hurricanes some times and they just are not as much fun. Jude was just the cutest, and I for one would love to see his snoopy draws, snoopy is a favourite of mine, just saying. I thought I had read this author previously, but when Ive looked back, I hadn’t and that’s just shocking as I loved the characters and the flow, the story just flew off the page for me, so I will definitely be checking out the rest of their works.

I loved this book! It was so cute and I don’t think I’ve ever read a book with this kind of story line before! I have such a soft spot for FMC’s and Jude was just the sweetest to olive. Their banter & nicknames were everything! Loved loved loved this book!

I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited to read a book before.

Anything Teagan writes, I’m loving and this is no exception.

I DEVOURED this book, I could not get enough. Jude and Olive were remarkable, relatable and the banter had me cackling. I’ll never get enough of Teagan’s books, ever. This one was just so precious, sweet and heartwarming and all the “drama” was done in a way that I felt their emotions.

When I tell you I loved this book, I mean it with my whole heart. I am so damn proud of Teagan and being able to read all the books she’s written, just wow.

This book was so much fun! It had me smiling ear to ear with the adorableness. Olive and Jude have the cutest banter.
Jude was the sweetest cinnamon roll MMC ever! Olive was a fun and strong FMC. I loved the depiction of a curvy FMC being at the top of her game! She held her own ground and I loved her for it.

Both Olive and Jude had the best support system around them! Annie and even Remi were amazing. Annie is the bestest best friend you could ever have. Jasper and Cait were amazing siblings to Jude too. (I’m really hoping Jasper will get a book with a certain someone too.) They each had publicists too who were always looking out for them.
I love when a book can be entertaining without any toxic or horrible behavior by someone close to the main characters. They were all beautiful and great.

Overall, this book was a lot of fun. I truly smiled so much while reading it. It was a whirlwind of a relationship but really cute. Jude is honestly one of the sweetest MMCs I’ve ever read.
Recommended if you enjoy a celeb romance and how all the drama with fame can affect a relationship, plus some spice!

Thank you to Montlake and NetGalley for the eARC. I’m leaving this review voluntarily and all thoughts are my own.

Olive is a plus size influencer under a lot of pressure. She DMs Jasper, the hottest movie start in the world, never expecting an answer. Jude is Jasper's younger brother who is helping out with his social media accounts and falls in love with Olive's DMs. What happens when they meet?

Love the sarcasm, banter and fun in the book. It does tackle some more serious issues but with a very light and comedic touch. The characters are all charming and likable. Jude is really sweet and Olive is wonderful.
Really enjoy the romance.

Thanks to the publisher for the arc.
