Loved every minute of this book, I don’t think i have loved so many characters in one book, Jude and Olive there were perfect Main characters the chemistry these two had from their first meeting.

The family dynamic of the Rafferty’s with Jasper and cait and their parents 💓.

Olive best friend Annie she was what every girl needs in a best friend and i can’t not mention Mrs Hammish the next door neighbour she did make me lol.

The DM Diaries had me hooked from the start it’s a slow burn but once you’re in your in, I don’t do spoilers as the blurb of this book gives you enough.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did 4 1/2 🌟

So cute!!!! All the feels for this plus sized romance. Ever wonder what it's like to meet a movie star? Remember that girl who wanted to make all her dreams come true? Right here in this book! I spent at least 60 percent of this book with a grin on my face, and would love some follow up books with other characters we met here. Especially if these characters guest star!

4⭐️ I had a really good time reading this book💫

It was refreshing and funny. I understand how Olive and Jude wanted to find someone with whom they could be real. They just wanted to let their guard down with someone who will value and love them for who they truly are. Both had worked hard and have been persistent and resilient to accomplish their goals. I love that about them. Also, I love the bonding between the Rafferty siblings and the friendship between Olive and Annie✨

What I didn’t quite like was the whole third-act breakup situation and how they managed it. In the first sign of trouble, Olive breaks up with Jude without thinking twice or without giving both the chance to talk it through and work on it as a team. But at the same time, I kind of understood why Ollie did what she did. She worked so hard to get where she is right now in her work and being with him could jeopardize all of it. Also, she was scared of her feelings towards him. On the other side, Jude also worked so hard to rebuild a career by himself. After the breakup, he left it without caring at all. It didn’t feel like him. But, at the same time, I kind of understood him. Depression hit him hard, and everyone deals with it in their own way. I was glad they had the time to think things through and that they were able to accept that they were in love.

Anyway, besides that, I really enjoyed the book. I am a clumsy person! A lot of embarrassing things happen to me because of it. The fact that Olive and Jude were just like that was something I related to a lot. It was funny.

Oh my goodness!

So I have been in a huge reading slump for about a month now. No matter how many books I picked up I ended up putting them down after a few pages not able to get into or enjoy any of them. But this one finally broke through.

The DM Diaries.

Olive is a rising plus-size model who loves her job, but is trying to stand out in her world. So she finds peace in an unexpected place. The world's hottest movie stars DM's. She had been sharing her hopes, dreams & life with Jasper, because he doesn't read them, he doesn't even work his own social media pages - so what's the worst that could happen?

Jude is trying to make a comeback in the world of acting. He never hit it as big as his brother Jasper and then took a break to go to college. But after an interview gone-wrong his publicist tells Jude to take over Jasper's social media in hopes to gain publicity of connecting to two together. But Jude stumbles upon DM's. He shouldn't read them. They aren't for him. But they are something real in the world of fake. And then he responds as Jasper.

As the DM's get flirty and more personal, will Jude be able to keep up the ruse? And what will happen when Olive finds out she is starting to fall for a fraud?

So- I loved Olive. She was real. She followed her big dreams to the city. She was brave but also vulnerable. She was sassy and didn't take crap from anyone. She stood for what she believed in- even if misses out on high profile jobs because of it.

Jude likes acting, but doesn't like all that comes with it. The interviews and being on the go go go. He wants something real in the world of fake.

The DM diaries brings the humor & wit Teagan is known for - along with plenty of DM and texting banter. It's cute, and funny and has some steam. I loved every second of it, and couldn't put it down. So if you're looking for a celebrity romance that brings the charm and laughs, this is the book for you. 4.5 ⭐ out of 5⭐.

The DM Diaries tells the story of Olive and Jude. Olive is a plus size model and influencer with big dreams. Which cause a considerable amount of stress. She copes by sending all her dear diary thoughts to The DM of jasper Rafferty-a famous actor, thinking he will never see them anyway. Well turns out she's partially right, because it's not Jasper who finds them.. it's his brother Jude. And when messages are exchanged, a connection is felt, but it's only a matter of a time before Olive learns she's talking to a fraud.

Well, I am not sure what I can say. I just didn't like this story. Not the plot. Or the way it was told. Where was the romance? It had some playful banter near the start so I kept reading, hoping it would get better and I'm sad to say it did the opposite. Nothing drew me into this story or it's characters. I've read a handful of the author's books-this did not feel like her writing to me. I'm going to leave it at that. Just did not work for me unfortunately.

this is what I call a feel-good rom-com!
the chemistry, the banter, the spice, and everything in-between was so well paced and enjoyable.

Olive and Jude are both celebrities, who "meet" through Jude's brother's (Jasper) DMs on Instagram. While I expected the miscommunication trope (duh!), I was pleasantly surprised by how it played out in this book. In my opinion, with a plot like this, some books are way to focused on this one idea and don't get the characters space to show us their chemistry- which is ultimately what makes rom-coms enjoyable, is it not?

not in this one. although I would've loved for Olive and Jude to be given a little more depth altogether, as we see very little of her badass plus-size model job for example, the overall pacing was what kept me enticed.

If you love meet-cute with a lot of sarcasm and banter, then this might be an amazing read for you!

thank you netgalley and the publisher for the arc!

I'm a huge fan of Teagan Hunter and when I saw this pop up, I knew I had to give it a go. The story follows Olive, a plus sized model, and Jude an actor from a famous Hollywood family. For a year, Olive has been treating the inbox of a Hollywood star as her own personal journal, figuring there was no way he would ever see her messages. When Jude is given access to his brothers account, that goes out the window. What happens next is a case of mistaken identity, a coffee truck meet cute, and two people trying to find the right balance in life and in their careers.

While I enjoyed the book, something just was missing for me. I wasn't a huge fan of Olive and how quick she was to judge Jude or believe what she read about him. As someone who's in a similar career, she should know that actors "date" for PR and to spin the narrative. She even mentions this later on but still refused to believe her friend or Jude when it came down to it. It was really noticeable when during Jude's POV, he does nothing but defend Olive to his manager and those around him. He never once thinks she's using him for clout or to get her name out there. I just wish that Olive could've shown Jude the same type of support. And I know it plays into how they started to talk in the first place, but you can't hold a grudge forever. Sooner or later you either believe him, or you don't. In defense of Olive though, it did bug me that Dylan kept thinking Olive was using him and couldn't possibly land certain photographers. If she had done her research into her, she should've known all of this! And I think the 3rd act break up wasn't really necessary. I'm not a huge fan of them in general and here it just felt like it was added because we needed some drama but we already had plenty.

I did enjoy their banter, especially their run ins at the coffee truck. The supporting characters were good as well including her roommates fiance who seems really ride or die. I was 50/50 on who caused the drama at the end, so was a little surprised at who it turned out to be. If you've read Teagan before, this was less spicy than her other books. I'd say about a 2 in the spice department. It was nice seeing a plus sized FMC who was confident in herself, and how it was just who she was. And I loved how she turned down jobs that didn't align with her values and mission when it came to her modeling career.

3.5 stars⭐️

This book was such a cute read. Jude and Olive’s constant banter was so adorable that I caught myself smiling a few times.

I really enjoyed how well Jude and Olive communicated with each other throughout the book. Jude falls first and hard for Olive, and it makes it all the more fun. This man RAN to where she was, so he could talk to her. I also loved how supportive and protective he was of Olive. Jude’s relationship with his siblings is what you’d expect from siblings lol.

However, I felt that the characters lacked a bit of depth, and they came off as two-dimensional at times.

If you’re in the mood for a feel-good romance, then check out The DM Diaries by Teagan Hunter.

Thank you to Montlake and NetGalley for the eARC. This review is my personal and honest opinion.

I enjoyed Teagan Hunter's books in the past, and I appreciate this ARC from Netgally. Our main character, Olive, is a popular influencer and a plus sized one at that. While she receives plenty of attention from her loyal followers, she is lonely. So she decides to start DMing one of the most famous stars in world convinced he'll never see them. Olive is shocked to receive a response. Except it isn't from who she thinks it is instead it is the actor's brother who is intrigued by and responding to Olive's messages. A unique twist on friends to lovers that is truly enjoyable.

The DM Diaries was split into two halves for me. The first half was the You Got Mail like half with Olive and Jasper (Jude really) getting to know each other over social media DM. This half was a lot of fun and I sped through reading it. I probably could have stayed in this world where Olive and Jude didn't meet for longer because it was so entertaining. The second half was Olive and Jude recovering from Jude's deception and falling for each other in person. Jude was unexpectedly shy despite his fame. I adored how he worshipped Olive. Olive was a celebrity in her own right and I loved how she followed her heart and purpose while modeling. They were so cute together! I know a lot of people aren't fans of third act breakups, but the one in this book is perfect for a celebrity romance. Plus, I loved how it all worked out in the end. The DM Diaries was another fun romantic comedy from Teagan Hunter.

I was really struggling how to rate this book. I've read from this author before and have enjoyed the books but this one .... I don't know what it is. I can't put my finger on what has been bothering me.

We are following Olive and Jude who meet because Olive has been sliding into Jude's BROTHERS dms. Ok. Sounds .... Intriguing. I don't know what happened from, sounds intriguing as I started the book to I dont know how to date this, when i finished.

So for now a 3 star. Right in the middle. Until I figure out what is bothering me and whether I can get past it to either keep it a 3 or up it to 4.

This is the first book of Teagan Hunter’s that I’ve read, and absolutely will not be the last. Her writing style and humour just worked so well for me, I can’t wait to read more.

Books with a catfish storyline can be tough, and I feel like it was handled so, so well in this. It didn’t drag on too long, it was talked about in a real and serious way and not just moved on from, and it just worked. The way these characters got to know each other, and the way everything connected, made me totally fall in love with both of them.

As a plus sized woman who always appreciates finding books with plus sized representation, it was really well done in this story. It was simply a description of Olive, not an insecurity that she has or that anyone talks about negatively. Sometimes novels with that inclusion make body positivity the way a character grows in a book, and honestly it was really refreshing to read about a character who is already happy and confident, and a partner who loves every inch of her.

I didn’t *love* the third act conflict, but I could say that about most books. It’s not my favourite thing but I know it’s common. However it was very fitting for the story, and the resolution was really nice. I would have loved an epilogue, but that’s more so because I didn’t want this book to be over, not because it felt unfinished.

Definitely will be recommending this, and I can absolutely see myself rereading it.

Thank you to the publisher & NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review an advanced copy of this book! I voluntarily read this book, and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

As usual, Teagan Hunter does not disappoint with her DM banter! Was it fun Yes. Was it hot? Yes. 3rd act breakup? Yes. Did that ruin the experience? Absolutely not! Thank you Netgalley, Teagan Hunter and publisher for the opportunity to read this ARC!

2.5 stars. The premise was innovative and the protagonists’ career context was interesting to read about. Overall, though, this didn’t do it for me - it was pleasant but I wasn’t engaged in the storytelling and I became less and less invested the further in I got. The characters seemed like nice enough people but fairly two dimensional, so it was hard to feel very strongly about them or what happened to them. I did like the epistolatory element of the book but once the protagonists met in person, their ‘banter’ was often pretty dull. Also, it seemed to me as though a lot of their inner monologues in the first part of the book were whining about the publicity demands of their chosen professions. There were certainly valid points being made here, but they were made repeatedly and this repetition did get annoying and made the characters appear somewhat out of touch.

SPOILER** Olive’s response to the third act crisis didn’t make much sense to me. Breaking up with Jude would just make it look like she really did want Jasper instead, and the harm to her career that was already done would just be magnified. And Jude just stopped caring about his career at all to wallow in drunken, unwashed self-pity for a week after the split? That level of unprofessionalism doesn’t ring true for a motivated actor who’s been in the business since childhood. **SPOILER

A further round of editing would have tightened up the writing and caught some errors.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC.

A cute lighthearted love story. This book was a decent read, however I found the characters a little two dimensional and would have loved to have them a little bit more fleshed out with more depth to them. I feel like all I know about Olive is she is a plus size model who once had chickens and Jude is a famous actor from a famous family.

That being said if you want something that’s easygoing with plenty of banter between the MCs then this book definitely fits the bill!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

The DM Diaries is a witty pen pal, secret identity rom-com!

Olive O'Brien, a plus-size model and Instagram influencer, never expected that sliding into Jasper Rafferty's DMs would lead to a digital connection. As Jude Rafferty takes over his brother's social media, he's intrigued by Olive's authenticity amidst Hollywood's facade. When their relationship deepens, secrets unravel.

I love a good secret pen pal trope and Teagan Hunter does it well with The DM Diaries! I loved the banter between Olive and Jude. Their DMs made me laugh out loud--from aliens to chicken puns! I also found that Teagan did a great job with body self-image and sustainability representation. I loved how true Olive stays to her mission and beliefs.

Besides Olive and Jude, the secondary characters truly made the book enjoyable. Olive's best friend is someone I'd love to have on my side and Jude's love with his siblings makes me think of my own.

This is a 4/5 recommendation for me!

Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for the ARC in return for my honest opinion.

I had so much fun reading this rom-com between model Olive and actor Jude, who connect through the direct message inbox of his superstar brother’s instagram account (which Olive has been using as her own personal diary). Both with a lot to prove, Olive and Jude build a connection but are faced with challenges ranging from mistaken identity to the lack of privacy afforded by fame.

I flew through this book, and I really appreciated just how human all of the characters felt. Both protagonists were complex and managed to be relatable, despite them living in a world of paparazzi and premieres. The side characters added so much to the book, in particular Dylan and Annie. I will definitely be on the lookout for a sequel!
