Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to read this in exchange for my honest opinion.

Really enjoyed this twisty turny novel about a mysterious estate in the middle of the woods that, while currently a luxury resort for the rich and famous, has a sordid past that few know the truth about. Maybe too many points of view, but overall LOVED the twists and the Midsommar vibes of it all!

True to Lucy Foley form the midnight feast is another thriller with multiple POV‘s and twists and turns. A gripping tale that intertwines mystery, suspense, and human psyche. Set against the backdrop of a secluded mansion turned resort/retreat, the true mystery of the events of the original Midnight Feast that occurred when the main characters were teens reveals itself as the story is told with time jumps told through diary entries. Foley skillfully crafts each character, weaving their secrets and desires that keeps readers guessing until the very end. With its atmospheric setting and intricate plot twists, 'The Midnight Feast' is a captivating read that will leave you not wanting to put the book down until the end.

I typically love multiple POV books but this one was almost too much. Especially when you add in a teenagers diary. I understand that it was important in telling the backstory but it became hard to keep up at times. The other issue I had was who was truly the main character - was it Francesca or Bella? It was hard for me to get into at first because it didn’t have the page turning quality that her previous books did. I felt like it started getting to that point when I was over 75% through. Ultimately, I ended up enjoying it but was still slightly disappointed it didn’t have the same quality as Lucy Foleys other books. Thanks for Netgalley for sending me an early copy of the book!

I was immediately captivated and couldn't put the book down. It was the novel's closing section that shocked me. The words possessed me as my heart raced with adrenaline. My heart skipped a beat because of the unexpected turns and puzzle-style climax. The conclusion was fantastic, as expected! Remembering the climax of "True Detective: Night County." came to mind. The primary mystery was expertly woven into folklore, particularly the legend of the Birds, as the inhabitants battle for justice against the invasion of Zenith's pristine, filthy-rich town, invoking Hitchcock's "The Birds." This book holds the reader's attention from the scathing depiction of the super-rich to the cynical analysis of social inequality and the villagers' fight for justice to the psychological manipulation of both victims and perpetrators. The story takes place at the Manor, a stately home in Woodland Hutches built to pamper its wealthy and privileged visitors. Francesca Woodland, a mysterious woman with dark secrets, who resembles a priestess, owns the manor and will host a summer solstice celebration. Her younger spouse, Owen, an aspiring architect, is captivated by her ethereal beauty and the illusion she has constructed about her character. However, their future is threatened when he reveals dark truths from his past. I knew all the characters would be connected in true Lucy fashion.

Thanks to William Morrow and NetGalley for this ARC for an honest review.

The Midnight Feast deep into the secrets of The Manor, a luxurious resort with a haunting past, where a locked room murder mystery unravels over a fateful opening weekend.Foley artfully intertwines the lives of her characters, each harboring clandestine agendas and closely guarded secrets. Against the serene backdrop of The Manor, Francesca Woodland reigns supreme, her pristine facade concealing a labyrinth of mysteries. Alongside her is Owen, ensnared by her charm but oblivious to the storm brewing beneath the surface as his own secrets threaten to emerge. The tranquility of The Manor is shattered by Bella, a mysterious figure from Francesca's past, determined to confront her demons. Meanwhile, Eddie, a kitchen helper, is torn between loyalty to his job and his dysfunctional family's dynamics.Foley's characters are vivid and achingly human, immersing readers in their struggles. Whether it's the conflicted Owen, determined Bella, or resilient Eddie, each character leaps off the page with electrifying vitality. The Midnight Feast stands out as one of Lucy Foley's finest works, recommended for anyone seeking a gripping and immersive read.

Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins for the opportunity to read this book in advance!

Honestly, this is more of a 3.5 star read, the plot twists definitely got me, and I love a female psychopath when reading thrillers, but as a whole, it was a little underwhelming. In the beginning of the story, up until about half way through, it felt like nothing was happening, but then once things were revealed, I found myself intrigued and wanting to read more. The story tied together, even though some of the things the author includes feel like it added too much and seemed unnecessary. Some parts were confusing towards the end, but the twists once it finally clicked in my head did make my jaw drop. I'd recommend this book if you want an intriguing thriller to read!

Thank you to NetGalley for the advanced reader copy of The Midnight Feast by Lucy Foley!

It is opening weekend at The Manor for Summer Soltice and Francesca Meadows wants everything to be perfect. She has always been warned about The Birds from her grandad.

The Birds and people from the past keep showing up.

I really enjoyed this book and each time I thought I had something figured out I did not.

I really loved this book. After my conflicting feelings of Lucy Foley’s “The Paris Apartment”, part of me was let down. “The Guest List” was such a solid novel…

Thankfully, “The Midnight Feast” entirely delivered. I was hooked by the premise, pleased with the cover, and in love with the story. This book was just so enjoyable to me. Creepy, nostalgic, and mysterious.

I can’t wait to suggest this one to library patrons this summer. What a great read. Thank you, Lucy Foley, for writing this one.

The Midnight Feast is a delicious book to devour in one sitting, as long as you aren't too afraid of birds...

The book focuses on multiple viewpoints, but don't let that distract you. Each character has their own history and secrets taking them to The Manor's opening weekend, but who can be trusted? Is our future shaped by our past, and can past wrongs be corrected?
Lucy Foley's books will always be on my shelves, and this one did not disappoint. I loved the characters, the setting, and the quick pace of the chapters.

Many thanks to NetGalley and William Morrow for this ARC.

Thank you NetGalley and William Morrow Publishing for the ARC of The Midnight Feast. As a big fan of Lucy Foley, The Midnight Feast did not disappoint.
Francesca Meadows has recently inherited her grandparents estate and, with the help of her architect husband, has turned it into a glamorous resort that has drawn the wealthiest of vacationers for opening weekend. But as the weekend’s highlight event, The Midnight Feast, approaches, the locals and town secrets emerge from the woodwork and challenge the Manor’s ultimate success.

I was super pumped to get the opportunity to read the ARC of Lucy Foley's latest book, The Mightnight Feast. I have loved her previous books and was anticipating diving into this one. The Midnight Feast tells the story of a new luxury hotel that entices and brings in a prestigious group of guests, aggravating the locals. As the hotel opens, mysterious things create hiccups during the opening weekend. Starting this book took a little while. The different perspectives, timelines, and lack of information initially slowed it. As I continued to read, it picked up the pace, and all the tidbits of information started to connect. I began to fly through the book, looking for answers and seeing how the story unfolded. When I thought I had the story figured out, Lucy Foley flipped what I thought I knew over my head. This dark story is full of twists and turns! Push through the first few chapters, I promise it is worth it!!!

Thank you to Lucy Foley, William Morrow Publishing, and Netgalley for the ARC of The Midnight Feast!

Thank you so much, @netgalley and @williammorrowbooks for this Advanced Reader’s copy. I could not put this one down. This book is a perfect summer or roadtrip read.

I think this is the best so far from @lucyfoleyauthor! This thriller is set at The Manor, a new posh resort for the elite in small town, legend filled, Tome. Guests gather for the opening night and are awed by Francesca’s elegance and poise as she floats among the guests. Her husband Owen’s architecture brought the woman’s dreams to life and the couple seems to have it all. Yet, something dark and eerie threatens to bring the opening weekend crashing down.

With multiple narrators, the reader slowly collects details about a mystery that occurred 15 years prior at the very spot where the resort now lies. Woven between chapters are Summer Notebook entries that shed even more light on the characters and their roles in both the past and present.

Be prepared for twists, turns, and gasp aloud moments. 🤯😳🦅

I enjoyed the story but it was a lot to keep up with. So many characters and so much going on made it hard to connect with any character. I love Lucy, but this wasn’t for me.

This review is honest feedback of this ARC I received from Netgalley.

Oh.My.Goodness. This books was phenomenal. It had me second guessing myself throughout the whole thing. The twists threw me for a loop more than once.

The characters were well written, even the ones you're meant to hate. They are so well done, and you feel like you're right there watching the whole opening weekend of The Manor play out in real time.

Very well done! I love when a mystery/thriller can keep me on my toes, and this one did not disappoint. 10/10.

I have read other Lucy Foley books and enjoyed them. I looked forward to this one and having an advance copy was even better. And then I realized this one was not good. I could not get into the plot at all, too many characters, too many back stories and none of them interesting or engaging. And the Bird theme seemed gratuitous. I really have nothing else to say except don't waste your time.

L.F. is a natural with their stories and it's such a treat to read any of them. This book really shows that even more so. I absolutely loved this one.

Add this to the list of Lucy Foley books I really enjoyed. A tale of haves vs. havenots and the intricate web of lies they weave. This story is a slow build but once the finale hits, all the loose ends tie themselves up nicely. With a few “what?!” Moments as the plot started to unfold, this book left me feeling satisfied.

Thank you to the author and NetGalley for allowing me to read the prereleased copy in exchange for an honest review.

I just reviewed The Midnight Feast by Lucy Foley. #TheMidnightFeast #NetGalley

I have read all of Foley's novels and think they are usually well plotted and have a good twist. The Midnight Feast was good but not my favorite. There was a creepy supernatural element that was a little hard to believe. And all of the characters were pretending to be someone else and out for revenge from their past. Plus, there were too many characters.
I would still recommend this to followers of Foley and I will still read whatever comes next.

Welcome to the opening weekend of The Manor. A luxury resort built on top of old secrets in an ancient wood. Told from multiple perspectives, we meet the owner, her husband, a guest, a detective, and a kitchen boy. They all have secrets but not all survive the opening weekend.
I have read other Lucy Foley books and unfortunately this one was not my favorite. Initially, I was worried this book was going to be too similar to other books set at an exclusive resort with someone ultimately ending up dead. I was wrong on that front. The story is told from multiple POVs but also different days and flashbacks where some are the distant past, some are the previous days, and one is the present. I personally was not a fan of the different overlapping times.
The story alludes to a secret past in this small town and strange happenings in the woods. We get a little information on this but I wanted more.

Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for the arc of this book. This is the first Lucy Foley book I have read and I am impressed. I usually am pretty good at seeing the plot twists coming and I did not see them at all with the book.I want to keep this review spoiler free but with that being said so many small details earlier in the book became important details with the plot twists.I was afraid I would not like this book with it being from many characters points of view but I ended up loving it. I will be looking to read more of this author's books.
