This was a really cool book! I have seen Mayflower II and loved visiting Plymouth Plantation as a child. We may have been told some of the history behind it but I didn't remember and this book was an incredable reminder of one of my favorite childhood historical vacations.
To me, the tale of the Mayflower has always been an intriguing part of history, yet I hadn't heard of the replica called the Mayflower II. Richard A. Stone's book takes the reader through the history of the titular project from its beginning in 1950 to the present day. I found the book intriguing to see how history is being brought into the present differently. Replicas of historical ships are not something new, but seeing a historically accurate one that has no worries of disasters was interesting and made it easier to read.
I highly recommend Project Mayflower if you enjoy reading nautical history or want to see the progress of creating ship replicas.
