This one was pretty cute but just not for me. I tried really hard to get into this one but I never really connected with the writing style.

I did really enjoy the premise of friends switching trips after a wedding goes wrong. There just was a lot of telling and not showing.

This was a super cute and quick read. It was full of all the holiday vibes and it was too fun to have best friends switch places and fall in love. This is a good one to add to your list of Christmas reads this upcoming season. I enjoyed the dual points of view of the two main character best friends. It was paced really well and gave great insight into each woman.

Blurb: When doppelgänger best friends trade one's cabin Christmas vacation for the other's Hawaiian would’ve-been-honeymoon, both might just find love they weren't expecting.

Great story! Holly is at a college frat party with her boyfriend Matt when she meets Ivy. The girls spend the night chatting and become best friends. Eight years later, it's the night before Holly and Matt's wedding and Matt comes to a realization and cancels the wedding. Holly needs to get out of town to be by herself and so she and Ivy swap their vacations. Ivy goes to Hawaii for Holly's honeymoon and Holly takes Ivy's trip to the Hudson Valley. What happens in the next two weeks changes both their lives. 4 1/2 stars.

Thanks to Netgalley and PENGUIN GROUP Putnam. This was such a great story to start my Holiday reading. While it is during Christmas and New Years it is much more than a "holiday story" This is about the friendship of Holly and Ivy over 8 years. It is 2 POV Holly and Ivy they are each on a trip Holly is out in the mountains and Ivy is in Hawaii. This story just flowed together and turned out to be such a great read.

This was a cute story about two best friends going on vacations (swapped between each other) and finding love. The honeymoon part comes into play when Holly is supposed to get married but... well... her fiancé is kind of in love with someone else. She's obviously not feeling like lounging in Hawaii to recover on what was supposed to be her honeymoon so she convinces her best friend Ivy to go in her place while she goes on Ivy's two week snowy cabin trip instead. Ivy winds up not staying in the planned hotel - long story - but finds a great apartment with a hot neighbor. Holly, meanwhile, is trying to figure out how to get the fire to work and bumps into Eco Clark Kent, a former classmate. Sparks commence flying! This was a quick read and, as I mentioned, cute, but was pretty predictable. Honestly though, that's what I'm usually expecting when reading a book in this category.

Thanks to NetGalley and Penguin Group Putnam for the advance reader copy!

This book was sweet, and I absolutely adored both female main characters. The pacing of this book was good, and the chapters weren’t too long, and I felt like the events that took place in this book were fast paced. as a romance reader, I felt like the ending was to be expected, but I enjoyed it. I would suggest this book to a friend for a holiday read!

This was really cute & definitely festive. I loved the dual pov/ double love story. It was really unique but also reminded me of the movie The Holiday (which I LOVE)

I loved getting to see the BFF meet-cute and that the author gave us some time with Holly & Ivy together before splitting them up for their separate vacations. I really felt & appreciated their connection.

The love stories were simple and a bit predictable but cute. Definitely gave hallmark vibes (especially the small winter town). A negative of this book for me were the "spicy" scenes. They were barely more detailed than closed door. I would have rather had a fade to black than the most vanilla, basic, no foreplay sex.

Overall, I'd recommend this with the same mindset as a hallmark movie. Quick cute and probably a bit forgettable.

Thank you to NetGalley for this arc in return for an honest review!

3.5⭐️ i needed this book at this current moment in time. it was such a sweet read about friendship and true love. the book was fun and lighthearted but also had really positive undertones of two friends who would do anything for one another and not accepting anything but the best.

holly and ivy were both funny and sweet, being best friends after meeting surprisingly at a frat party. their family lives were very opposite, but they both had issues with the holiday season and not measuring up. holly comes from a posh family where she is ‘supposed’ to marry a man who she really doesn’t love and doesn’t treat her right. ivy comes from free-spirited parents who are not very reliable and always off grid. ivy has a passion for painting, but thinks pursuing her passion is not responsible and wouldn’t lead to a stable career.

i love that the two ‘switched’ in a way their christmas plans and got to meet their loves of their lives while also finding themselves and their worth. the romance was a little too fast paced for me, being a little instalovey but i do understand in the context of the story it was cute.

the romance was a little underwhelming as i wanted a little more depth, but overall it was a heartwarming story <3

3.5 stars rounded up.

I loved the vibes and the story. Holly and Ivy were best friend goals and this book felt very reminiscent of one of my favorite holiday movies (The Holiday). Obviously this book is different, but this book gave me the same feelings as when I watched that movie for the first time. I will say that I was more interested in Holly's love story than Ivy's, but I think that has to do with me being able to relate to Holly more. The highlight of this book is their friendship. I did want a little more on the romance side of things, but I feel like that happens a lot when one book focuses on multiple love stories.

This writing style wasn't my favorite but I was able to get past it and finish this book and I think a lot of that had to do with me loving these characters and wanting to see where things were going.

Two best friends, two relationship two great love stories

I was nervous that I’d find this type of story a little daunting. While at times I did get a little overwhelmed I really enjoyed both stories. They were sweet and you could feel the romance coming to life.

I really enjoyed reading this one! Having the two story lines at the same time was a lot of fun. It had all the feels, good writing and an interesting storyline. It definitely put me in the holiday spirit.

Huge thanks to Penguin Group and Netgalley for allowing me to read and review this book.

This was a cute holiday read! It read very quickly and was perfect for a travel day. The author did a great job flipping between Holly and Ivy’s stories. I did prefer one over the other bit that’s to be expected. I could easily see this as a Hallmark holiday movie.

Thanks to the publisher, author and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for my honest review!

This novel felt like a Hallmark Christmas movie, which will work for some readers, but wasn't really my thing. I did have fun exploring the town in New York. However, I didn't feel like I got to know the male romantic leads and I wasn't too drawn in by the female ones. The Hawaii plotline was a bit odd and unrealistic.

I loved this quick holiday romance. I loved the premise of the story & adored Holly & Ivy’s friendship. The way they grew as people and found love in such fun ways is really special. I have a best friendship like Holly & Ivy and reading about this just makes my heart so happy. I do think Holly got over Matt a little too quickly making it a little hard to believe. It’s your typical cheesy rom-com but with a good aspect of friendship that truly lasts through everything. Definitely read this during the holiday season!

I had the best time reading this book! Holly and Ivy are the best of friends and I loved their friendship. The two simultaneous story lines made this book exciting and different. It was full of heart and gave me all the feels. It was a great Christmas read and I enjoyed it so much!

A huge thank you to PENGUIN GROUP Putnam and NetGalley for the advanced copy. All opinions expressed above are my own.

The Holiday Honeymoon Switch by Julia McKay is a fun rom com. When a woman is jilted the night before her wedding, she goes on her honeymoon with her best friend instead. But both of them end up finding new relationships. This book is fun and predictable and readers of this genre should enjoy it. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.
