This book had potential, but it didn’t fully deliver. The overly long descriptions felt like filler, and there was too much telling instead of showing, which hurt the pacing and emotional impact.
The romance was hard to buy—falling in love after five days felt rushed and unrealistic. Aiden’s sister was unnecessarily mean and didn’t redeem herself, while Holly was an unlikable and unsupportive friend to Ivy.
The standout was Oliver, who was by far the most compelling and likable character. He brought charm and balance to an otherwise frustrating story.
An intriguing premise, but it lacked the depth and character development to make it memorable.

This was such a sweet holiday book. Two friends switch vacation/honeymoon plans when one of them gets left the night before her wedding. This book was heavy on the insta attraction/like (no one said I love you in the "too short" time frame, which I see as a win), but was still such a fun, cute read. It was also a love story to their friendship and how important friends are in your life.
Thank you, NetGalley and Putnam Books, for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you NetGalley for an advanced copy of “The Holiday Honeymoon Switch.”
When Holly is jilted by her slime ball fiancée the day before they are set to say “I do,” her best friend, Ivy has the perfect solution: you take my art retreat in the mountains, while I’m take your honeymoon to Hawaii. Did I want slime ball ex to get what was coming to him when he showed up in Hawaii with the girl he left Holly for? Yes. Did he get what was coming to him? No! That was a big miss in my opinion.
This lighthearted rom-com makes me think of The Holiday, except the main characters knew each other and no one was British. It’s a quick holiday read that is perfect to curl up with on a cold winter day with a cup of cocoa.

Kind of the premise of The Holiday but partially set in warm, sunny Hawaii?! Count me in! This book was a cute, quick holiday read that I think will end up kind of forgettable. I really enjoyed Ivy's character, but Holly was a tad annoying and I truly, truly could not stand one of the side characters - thankfully she wasn't in it much. Aiden and Oliver were both adorable and I would have loved to read more about their budding friendship. Some of the dialogue was super cringey and I couldn't get past the insta-love, but it was festive and got me out of my reading rut, so I'll take it! I'm looking forward to what the author comes out with next. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

A really fun, 2 for 1, love story about best friends who swap vacations and find Mr. Right while least expecting it.
Not only are Ivy and Holly best friends, but they look almost exactly alike. When Holly's ex finace leaves her the night before her wedding, Holly offers Ivy her 2 week Hawaiian honeymoon for her artist escape and takes Ivy's secluded NY Airbnb trip instead. Both friends end up finding Mr. Right when they aren't expecting to find him.
I found myself really invested in both stories - sometimes when it's a book like this I find myself way more invested in one person's story than the other, but this wasn't the case here. This screamed a good hallmark Christmas movie - I could see it all play out in my head and I ate it up. I listened to some and read some, and I thoroughly enjoyed both ways. It wasn't super Christmas-y, I kind of forgot it was a Christmas themed book while in the Hawaiian scenes and even in the NY scenes other than when it was actually Christmas eve and Christmas Day. This was really cute and I highly recommend it!
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of this in exchange for my honest opinion.

I really enjoyed this book. Holly and ivy have been friends since college. Holly is about to marry her college sweetheart when he dumps her the night before the wedding. Holly and Ivy decide to switch vacations and will they find a bit more on each?

A super cute 2 for 1 romance with two best friends on their own adventures. I can't decide which story I liked better, they were both great. Both also had fun side characters. I would've liked a bit more vengeance for the cheating ex.

Thank you NetGalley for a copy in exchange for my honest review. Holly and Ivy are best friends who act and look more like twins than friends. Holly was about to be married, but her fiancé calls off the wedding the night before the wedding. Ivy always knew something was off about Holly's fiancé, but never voiced her opinion to her best friend. It wasn't until the separation, that Ivy encouraged Holly to heal from the relationship by going on her honeymoon. Holly ended up convincing Ivy to switch vacations so that Ivy can go to Hawaii and Holly can go to Hudson Valley. Having a break from family and work allows both girls to rejuvenate and find time for things that make them happy. Along the way, both Holly and Ivy build relationships with handsome men and end up having the best holiday yet. Both vacations sounded so nice and healing for both girls! I would have loved to go to either! I love how the vacations strengthened the relationship between their friendship and opened their hearts to love.

✨Book Review: The Holiday Honeymoon Switch✨
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book is everything you want in a Christmas love story. It gave me The Holiday vibes, which is one of my favorite movies of all time! Holly and Ivy were destined to be best friends because of their names, and have been inseparable since college. When Holly gets dumped on the eve of her wedding, Ivy steps in to cheer up her best friend. Ivy offers Holly to spend Christmas in a cozy cabin while she travels to Hawaii for what would-have-been Holly’s honeymoon. Of course, like any holiday romance, they each find love in an unexpected place.
Super cute! Loved it!

Holly and Ivy are ride-or-die besties. So when Holly’s fiance leaves her the day before their wedding, Ivy is ready to do what she can to help Holly through this. They decide to swap vacations. Ivy goes on Holly’s all-expenses-paid Hawaiian honeymoon while Holly goes to the secluded cabin in the woods Ivy booked for her annual solo art retreat to heal. Neither of them expexts to find love on their trips, but both are surprised when it finds them.
I’m a sucker for a vacation/house swap story and this book gave The Holiday vibes. I LOVED this story and was laughing out loud as I was reading. There are so many unexpected surprises and twists and very unexpected holiday settings. This wasn’t as strong on the holiday vibes, but I loved the characters and the story so much that I didn’t care. This is definitely one to add to your list!
Thanks to Putnam Books and NetGalley for the advance copy.

I wanted to absolutely love this book. I thought it was such a great concept- two best friends switch out their holiday trips after one of them gets dumped the day before their wedding. This doesn't seem like it would lend to a lot of good holiday vibes, but I still had hope. What I left with was wanting a lot more from the characters. While I understand it is a book and not to be taken so seriously, I just thought that both Holly and Ivy acted so immature at times. The dialogue felt very childish at times. It took me out of the story almost immediately, so I didn't care much for their character arcs. I enjoyed the two different locations for the book- the beautiful beaches of Hawaii and a remote cabin in the woods of upstate New York. I appreciated the small town vibes and the beachy vibes that were curated, but I just couldn't get myself to care much about the characters enough. For that reason, I left wanting more. While it wasn't my favorite book this holiday season, I still think it can be enjoyed by many.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for an advanced readers copy of this book. All opinions within this review are my own.

My biggest regret regarding this book is that I prolonged reading it for such a long time! I love the perfect combination of traditional snowy and warm Hawaii Christmas, and adored the best friend angle that played such a huge role in this book. Both Ivy and Holly have such different, but amazing, adventures in this tension filled and lightly spicy novel!

Huge thank you to @penguin and @netgalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

This gave all The Holiday vibes! After being jilted Holly needs some healing. She convinces her best friend to go on her honeymoon in her place and she goes to a cabin to recoup and relax. Relaxation isn’t meant to be when she realizes her Airbnb host is her high school nemesis. Meanwhile in Hawaii Ivy doesn’t have a room when Holly’s ex checks in. Luckily the bartender comes to her rescue. This Holiday is full of unexpected surprises that forever change their lives in the best way!

This was a very cute story! Both main characters’ plot lines keep me wanting to read just one more chapter. The ending felt rushed but other than that it was a great book!

I finished this book in under a day! It was so cute.
Two best friends swap their Christmas vacation plans after one of their weddings is called off by a scum-bag fiancé. It’s okay though, because they’re going to find something better in their own corners of the world.
This book wasn’t as Christmas-y as I wanted, but it was still so stinking adorable and I was rooting for those best friends the whole way!!

Holly and Ivy (haha, yes, they know about the song) have been besties since college. When Holly’s fiancé dumps her the night before their Christmas-themed wedding, she convinces Ivy to go on her nonrefundable honeymoon to Hawaii so it doesn’t go to waste. Ivy had already booked a remote Hudson Valley cabin to focus on her art over the holidays, so the two women agree to take each other’s vacations. Holly plans to spend her days wallowing, but when she finds her Airbnb host is an old classmate who grew up to be a hottie, she starts to feel not so sad after all. Meanwhile, Ivy hits it off with a hunky bartender at the resort. Maybe Holly and Ivy will both find love this Christmas!
This is a sweet, cute romance with lots of holiday charm! I loved the friendship between Holly and Ivy, as well as the contrast of the holidays in the snowy Hudson Valley vs the tropical paradise of Hawaii, both locations with perfect Christmas vibes. Both romances are a little insta-love, but that’s to be expected with a vacation romance. Both couples had such great chemistry, and I could easily see this story as a Hallmark movie!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Putnam Books for providing me an advance copy of this book.

Very cute book, I liked that it switched point of views between holly and ivy and that the settings were both very different.

This was cute! I enjoyed the friendship between Holly and Ivy. The romances were cute also although fairly unrealistic. Oh well, tis the season!

A sweet and mostly wholesome holiday rom-com. I love reading best friend story lines and this one not only delivers on that front, but also introduces a whole cast of fun characters - some straight out of a cozy Hallmark holiday movie and others a bit more rambunctious and a little vacation swap akin to The Holiday.

This one follows 2 best friends, Holly and Ivy, who switch vacations during the holiday season. One goes to Hawaii and the other to a snowy town in New York. I really liked the different take of Christmas in Hawaii without all the typical snow and Christmas trees, etc. I liked the relationship between the 2 best friends more than the relationships the friends fall into with significant others. I didn’t really feel like either couple had much chemistry. Oftentimes the characters, especially Holly, seemed much younger and more immature than the 29 years she was supposed to be. The love stories felt rushed with the characters falling in love in like a week’s time. But this is a good romance option if you prefer a romance with low spice level.
