ARC Review ~ De-Witched~

*******************************************

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was definitely an intriguing read. From start to finish it was a lot of fun. I loved the witchy elements intermingling with every day life. I loved the universe that the author created and the romance was cute but the friendships were cuter!

Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin for this ARC!

Absolutely loved Sophie’s first book and De-Witched was was the perfect continuation of the series. She’s great at weaving a tale filled with magic and mischief while being chock full of romance and great spicy moments!!

I honestly loved this book. We have a super grumpy who warlock who dislikes humans (bc trauma) and a happy sunshine human who is obsessed with the witch world that she is not supposed to know exists. He also works at the animal shelter in a suit every day, what's not the love about that. I loved Gabriel's journey in the human world of learning more about humans and ultimately about himself. Leah is his opposite, but also perfect for his personality in every way. The question is can he get passed that she's human.

This is a solid follow-up to the first book in the Toil and Trouble series. I love a grumpy love interest, and Gabriel Goodnight is that (but also gallant and conscientious). Leah is his perfect sunny foil.

Also...Chuck! That's all.

I hadn't read the first book in this series, but this made me go back and start the whole series! It's a fun witchy read with a grumpy yet sexy MMC and a sassy FMC. Perfect for any read, but especially Halloween.

Had enough fun even beginning this that for a moment I stopped and went back to read the first book first (which I very rarely do). I will be keeping an eye out for the next book in this delicious series.

I loved the first book in this series, and Sophie didn't disappoint with book two! I absolutely enjoyed Leah and how we're continuing this little trio's romance stories. Leah being the only human in the group was also delightful because it was so fun to get to see her develop throughout.

I would definitely recommend reading book one if you haven't before starting book two. There's a lot of reference back to the first one throughout discussing Leah and how she's aware of witches/the covens, but she's not supposed to. We also have a character in the first book that is brought in and you will want to know their back story.

If you like grumpy x sunshine, big secrets, witch covens, and smutty scenes then you're going to want to get into this series!

This was a cozy type of vibe that’s just perfect for this time of year.. it’s a great pair with a warm blanket and a nice hot cup of coffee or cocoa.

I'm loving the Toil and Trouble series.

In this book Leah is a rule breaker. Her friends are witches, but she's not supposed to know that witches exist. This is a grumpy/sunshine; supernatural/human romance where the guy is the grumpy warlock, and she is the sunshine mortal. Super cute read!

I throughly enjoyed this book. Leah is kind and sweet and even though she knows all about witchcraft and witches she doesn’t use that to her advantage in trying to win Gabriel’s grumpy heart. A well written forbidden love romance with lots of spice and heart felt moments. Highly recommended for anyone who loves grumpy/sunshine or forbidden love witchy romances

This series is becoming one that I look forward to reading every fall, and I'm so glad! I thoroughly enjoyed the back and forth between the MCs and their friends/families, not to mention the little bit of witchy!

This book is a charming contemporary romance that blends magic with humor. The story follows Bella, a witch dealing with the fallout of a spell gone wrong as she seeks to reclaim her powers and navigate her personal life.

Morgan’s writing is witty and engaging, bringing Bella’s relatable struggles to life. The supporting characters add warmth and charm, enhancing the lively atmosphere of the narrative. Themes of self-discovery and empowerment are woven throughout, making Bella's journey both entertaining and meaningful.

With a delightful mix of romance and magical mishaps, "De-Witched" is a feel-good read that will enchant fans of contemporary romance and magic alike. I recommend this book!

What a great story. I really enjoyed the first book in this series and Leah was one of my favorite characters, so I was so excited to come back into this world and Leah getting her happily ever after. And this story did not disappoint. Leah was just a fun and special character she had to have a super special someone to match her and I think Gabriel was perfect. As someone that was always on the outskirts of the witch society as she was a human and couldn't know about the witch world, i loved that she falls in love with a grumpy human hating warlock that can't use his magic. I thought matching just perfect. The story was so cute with him failing miserably at being a bar tender, at making toast, and learning to deal with people in general.
I loved that Leah was true to herself and knew she found the grumpy, moody and little aloof Gabriel sexy, and she pursued him even though she knew they had obstacles. I love how she pushed all his buttons and made him relax and really learn to be himself.

The ending of this book was my favorite. I love those big dramatic scenes where everyone comes defend Leah and Gabe It gave me all the warm feels and I love that they felt their family/friends were there for them as there had been so many times in both of their lives they have felt left out, left behind. I love that there are so many good characters in these stories. ( I really hope there will be more in this world).

I highly recommend to those that like romances with great character development, amazing family/friendships that build the characters up, grumpy/sunshine dynamics and a cool withcy rom com feels.

As usual, Sophie H. Morgan gives us a great magical realism story. Dogs? Check. Witches? Check. A grumpy/sunshine relationship? Check. Happily Ever After? Double check. Loved it!

This was good!!! There was a lot of chemistry between Leah and Gabe and this book really did enemies to lovers well. Gabe was just annoying at the beginning-not totally loathful-and we soon see his softer sides. The magical conflict was fun and drove the plot forward and I will be excited to read more in this series!

Cute. Steamy. Honestly, just a magically good time!

It’s no secret I’m a sucker for a cozy paranormal romance romp and this series ticks the boxes in the best way! This book is the perfect autumn read!

Quick Summary: A cool, sexy, magic romance

My Review: De-witched by Sophie H. Morgan is book #2 in the Toil and Trouble series.

About the Book: Leah Turner has a secret. She knows all about the magical world of witches and warlocks. She's known for years. When she meets Gabriel Goodnight, a high family warlock, attraction is instantaneous. Sparks fly. Cauldrons bubble. Chemistry sizzles. What happens next is the stuff of dreams.

My Final Say: I totally loved Leah and Gabriel as a couple. They fit together well. From the moment they met, there was something that drew them to each other. No matter how they fought the pull, it was inevitable that they would be partners.

Other: Emma, Bastian, Tia, Henry, Melly, Ms. Q, and those lovable shelter sweeties were a blast. I can't wait to see what happens next in the series.

This was a fantastic sequel to the Toil and Trouble series!

I honestly wasn't sure I was going to enjoy it. Gabriel initially came off a little too strongly, like the ultimate haughty and cold snob. He hates humans and doesn't want to have anything to do with them. But, ultimately, a relationship with Leah is irresistible and worth the risk.

The story had the perfect build-up and I loved the ending. I can't wait for more in this series!

De-Witched by Sophie H Morgan. This book in the series tells the story of Leah and Gabe. It was great to get to know Leah’s story after her featuring in the first book, and being human it was interesting to read her thoughts on the world she is in. Both characters had issues they were working through, and it was great to see how this impacted them on an individual level and when they were working together. Love the fact Leah is a friend of animals too, I liked this storyline in the book. Great to see characters from the first book coming in to the story and meeting new ones along the way. I really enjoyed reading this in the Toil and Trouble series!
