Let me just say to start off with I first saw this book on instagram and the gorgeous cover really drew me in. I was approved for an ARC from NetGalley and I felt BLESSED!

This book is absolutely AMAZING.

I loved the chemistry between Margot and Jackson and it felt real. Their banter is top tier and I loved every second of it!

As a swiftie whose favorite beatle is Paul and who LOVES chilis (and my husband hates it!) I found Margot extremely relatable. This book definitely made me laugh out loud multiple times.

Overall, this book is definitely worth the read. I’ll definitely be reading more of Heather’s books in the future! It’s a fun lighthearted read that will make you kick your feet and giggle in the best way possible.

*** (very minor plot spoilers beyond this point) ***

My first impression of this book is that it would be spicier than it is based off the description, but I was pleasantly surprised as the slow burn is ****chefs kiss**** (I’m a huge slowburn fan) but when they finally do get together (it doesn’t take that long, but it’s definitely not right away) the spice is blush worthy. All I was thinking is that they are so “Work song by Hozier” coded. As a girlie who loves tension this book was absolutely 10/10

Just Don’t Call Me Yours by @heathergarvinbooks

This was a cute (but still spicy) read. My image is how I picture an important post on Margot’s (FMC) blog and that’s all the context I’m giving lol

Some of the things I loved-

🎵the music references (she’s a little T.Swift, he’s a little Arctic Monkeys)
🎵the banter/quips/aggravation between Margot & Jackson
🎵the way Jackson makes Margot VOICE her wants

However I didn’t realize the last line was “to be continued” so I was like 😱🧐 but that just means we are getting more (so actually not a bad thing)

Thank you to @netgalley and @heathergarvinbooks for the opportunity to read early

When I read the dedication I immediately thought of Taylor Swift, but when I saw that she mentions her in the story I was like AAAAAAA. (I’m a Swiftie so I was happy). Bon, this story was so good!! It was cute, fun and quick to read. I loved the characters and the vibes and I would love to live in the same dorms as them. I saw that there was a second book coming so I’m definitely gonna read that one too. If you want to read an enemies to lovers in a college setting, with mentions of Taylor Swift and Artic Monkeys you definitely should read this book!

A rockstar university romance? Count me in. Heather Garvin's 'Just Don't Call Me Yours' was so much fun to read. There as tonnes of witty banter and spark between the two lead characters that I was frantically turning the page because I really enjoyed her writing.

Margot and Jackson are complete opposities but they both can't leave each other alone. Jackson loves to get Margot a bit riled up, while Margot can't resist putting herself in Jackson's orbit. It was so entertaining to watch the spark between them grow. They had such a fantastic chemistry and I loved watching it develop from hostility to lovers. They were also mature and supportive of each other. I loved that music heavily played a role in this (though, and I know I'm going to get yelled for this, I wish I could read one romance book without a Taylor Swift reference in it. Yes she's talented and brings joy to people, but its getting a bit much.)

My only disappointment is I have to wait for a second book to see what's next between Margot and Jackson. I loved this so much I am greedy to learn what happens next! I can't help but wish perhaps this would've been better as one combined book, but I won't know this until I can get my hands on book two (please may I be granted a copy??!).

Thanks to Victory Editing Co-op and NetGalley for the ARC.

Just Don't Call Me Yours by Heather Garvin is a classic enemies to lovers, close proximity, banter filled college romance. Margot is ready for college except for the annoying guitar player across the hall in her coed dorm. Unexpectedly, both their groups of friends find themselves dating each other forcing them together on a regular basis. While Margot pretends their attraction is purely physical, Jackson is insistent that she is the one for him.

Not sure how I feel about this one. It was a fast read, and it left me wanting to know what happens next to the characters, but that ending felt abrupt and the characters didn't feel fleshed out enough? Will I read the next one? Probably. Fun, new adult romance about two college students who love to hate each other.

I have not read a Heather Garvin book before this, but I absolutely loved it and will be reading more! I did have some reservations because this is a college romance, and I typically do NOT like those (the characters feel immature and childish) but this was good for what it is: a college romance. The tropes in this book really drew me in, as well as the cute cover! I love that this is an enemies to lovers, forced proximity, he falls first romance. Margot and Jackson are just so cute together, after they get over their dislike for each other. There are a lot of Taylor Swift references, and sometimes that can be annoying, but I think it was perfectly done in this book and not overkill at all. After all, Jackson is a musician and Margot is a fan so it makes sense. The banter was top notch, and there were certainly laugh out loud moments. The spice was good! I think it was the appropriate level for this type of book. I did see that this is just the first part of their story and there will be more, and I'm so excited to read more about Margot and Jackson!

Thank you to NetGalley, Heather Garvin, and Tuskan Publishing for the eARC of this book!

This book was very good! I really enjoyed the romance. The banter was top tier and I really enjoyed the music references and I think they were very tasteful done.

The story was overall pretty cute but it definitely lacked depth. I feel like we didn’t really get to know the characters in any great detail. The conflicts were pretty surface level and sometimes a bit juvenile. The relationship came together pretty quickly and surprised me a little bit. I would have liked a little more build up but I still enjoyed it.

I didn’t love all the specific music references. Too many real-world references take me out of the story a bit, but it’s to be expected in a story about music and it’s also just a personal preference.

I enjoyed the book overall and I would read more from the author.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

First, I enjoyed this, but it took me a good portion of the book to decide to enjoy it. The first half almost lost me. Admittedly, I had a moment where I felt too old for this and the two leads antics just felt immature and exhausting (I was as frustrated at them as their own friends were!!) - until I stopped and told myself, these are early college age people and the behavior and personalities track. Once I gave the two leads some grace, I started enjoying the book. Looking at it through a different lens changed a lot. The story was a cute and easy read once I shifted perspective and I would recommend it.

I really enjoyed this book, Its the first I have read from this author and I will 100% be looking out for more books by this author.

Where do I start... this book had every thing I love reading, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, he falls first.

I honestly really enjoyed this book I read it within 2 days and I could not put it down. I loved Margot and Jackson together I just wish that we got to see more of how Margot was feeling about the relationship because I adore them together. I loved that this book had dual pov and also short chapters, it kept my attention which made it a easy and good read.

I recommend this book if you are looking for a Mood lifting read.

*Thank you NetGalley for providing me this arc in return for an honest review*

I have absolutely zero complaints about this book. Two witty college freshmen trying to pretend they aren't attracted to each other???? UGH!!!

The banter was great. The music references were great, and I could tell that the author really put some thought into which songs to include and didn't just pick random ones.

Shoutout to the guys in the band for being the biggest homies and letting Jackson add I Wanna Be Yours to the setlist. Thats kind of a crazy song to throw in last minute like that. I'm not sure I could contain my laughter if I was at a show and the 18-year-old guitarist started singing that song. THE FIRST LINE IS "I WANNA BE YOUR VACUUM CLEANER," but it worked for them and for that, I love it.

Was this book emotional or life changing? No. But I still loved reading it and it's a super easy and quick read. (SUUUPER short chapters: my beloved)

I also fell for the boy that introduced me to Arctic Monkeys freshman year of college, so I get it.

Just Don't Call Me Yours was such a fun read! Enemies to lovers college romance with just the right amount of spice. I read it twice, and both times I flew through it because the tension between Jackson and Margot quickly becomes addicting--you just want to keep reading. You can also see how Jackson's personality challenges Margot's just right, and it's clear why they are so drawn to each other despite their squabbles (something I think is missing from a lot of enemies to lovers romances).

The dual POV really shines here, you get to be inside both of their heads as they navigate each other and that adds to the fun. Jackson is the perfect MMC in my opinion: snarky but kind, direct, passionate, respectful... and he plays guitar in a band (need I say more?). Margot is very relatable as a FMC, she's spunky and introspective, and avoids conflict and tough conversations (something she slowly is working through). Some of the side characters also add to the story, even if they're only on the page for a short time (shoutout to Matt's Grandma!). And the spicy scenes are so well done, it heats things up in the best way and just leaves you wanting more. This is the first book in a duology, and I can't wait to read the next book and see where their relationship leads!

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this enemies to lovers!

Stacy, the song that this book is from is one of my favourite songs so seeing it in book form was so good!!

Loved all of the Taylor swift references and of course Jackson needed to be one too!

This book was such a sweet and easy read after coming out of reading slump. I loved how fierce and strong Margot was but when it came to her feelings it felt like her confusing didn’t match everything else in her life. I liked her at first but then as the book kept going I kept wanting her to be that fierce strong FMC when she unfortunately fell short for me.

Jackson was amazing. Such a confident and strong MMC that knew what he wanted and made sure that he communicated clearly on what was happening to him. I love how he cared for her from the very start and couldn’t wait for him to write a song about her.

Just was wanting a little more from Margot to put in some effort with the relationship and understanding why they are so good together, just not the sex part changing everything.

Tropes: enemies to lovers & forced proximity

Margot and Jackson where to start… he plays guitar, and she hates him playing the guitar (until she doesn’t). Margot is clearly challenged by Jackson and Jackson loves it. I really enjoyed the dynamic of this relationship and thought the character development was *chefs kiss*, what’s not to love about a ‘he falls first’ romance?

Matt and Rae were great secondary supporting characters, and I liked the contrast, or their dynamic compared with Margot and Jackson (the banter was top tier).
A very easy and nice mood read, will be looking up the rest of Heather Garvins works for sure.

Tropes:
🎸he’s a musician
🖤enemies to lovers
🎸college romance
🖤forced proximity
🎸he falls first
🖤 banter

This is my first book by the author and overall I really enjoyed this book. I thought the characters were just well executed. This was a college aged story and the characters had the right amount of angst, banter, romance for this story.

Jackson is kinda like that annoying neighbor who pulls you in and won't leave you alone and grows on you. A little pesky and annoying at first but then he grows on you and you don't want him to go bc he's in your heart now.

When Jackson finally got Margot out her own head I thought the light spice was then perfect especially considering the age of the characters.

All in all a well written book. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this arc

To be continued have to be the most hurtful words in literary history. Margot and Jackson are perfection in this enemies to lovers slow burn story. I NEED MORE. Jackson's dreams are about to come true and Margot is scared of her feelings and that she'll be left behind. Jackson has never wanted a relationship, but Margot has him rethinking everything. Rae and Matt are caring, supportive friends and are ready to like. I look forward to whatever happens next.

I enjoyed this so much! I love a good musical romance and their relationship flowed so nicely. I only wish there was a second book for them because the ending felt abrupt
