I love all the antics Pizza and Taco get up to. This one was no different. My favorite part was seeing Taco happy with what he received and not getting upset. Pizza needed to learn that Christmas isn't about getting everything on your list. This would be a great read for any kid who has experiences like Pizza's.
I look forward to getting a copy for my daughter's shelf.
My son is a Pizza and Taco fan, and we read this together. He enjoyed it, but I wished there was a clearer conclusion to Pizza's bad attitude about his gifts at the end of the book.
Pizza and Taco is a staple on our shelves. This is a well loved series that my children love and reades both young and old enjoy. We love that we now enjoy some our favoite characters in a Christmas story. 5 stars.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the free copy of Pizza and Taco: Best Christmas Ever! by Stephen Shaskan in exchange for my honest review.
This was such a cute, fun, festive story! It was engaging, kept my kiddo excited for the next page. I really loved the underlying moral as well. Bold enough for a kid to pick it up, but subtle enough to not overpower the entertainment.
The Pizza and Taco series are so popular in my Media Center. I guarantee this latest will be flying off the shelves as well.
The story is a sweet one with the message of valuing friendship above all. The illustrations are fun and vivid.
The easy-to-understand format goes a long way towards including readers of all ability. Well done!
This was a cute read! I read it with my two and five-year olds who both enjoyed it as well. We’ve never read any of the other books in the series, but are currently on a graphic novel kick, so we will probably check them out!
The illustrations were colorful, eye-catching, and clever. The dialogue was cute and age-appropriate.
The only thing I didn’t like was that I wished a lesson had been learned at the end. Instead of Pizza and Taco just being disappointed they didn’t get everything on their list and finding camaraderie from the other one also not receiving everything on their list, I wish there had been a discussion with the parents or some sort of realization to be thankful for what they were given.
We love Pizza and Taco books in this house! My daughter has read every single one and every time I see one available as an ARC we are so happy. Pizza and Taco are hilarious and have so many fun adventures. The illustrations are great as well. Definitely a series to not miss for your kids!
My daughter read this one. She’s a huge fan of pizza and taco and gave it two thumbs up and a couple of laughs. It was a quick read for her but enjoyable. As always pizza and tacos antics were entertaining.
5/5 stars from my Pizza and Taco loving kids! I know they will pick this up again during the holiday season!
This series is awesome and this new Christmas book definitely didn't disappoint!
These books are great for newer readers! This series was the gateway for my youngest daughter getting into enjoying to read. It is a graphic novel that is full of fun and comedy that helps kids to not view reading as a chore and just enjoy the entertainment of the book.
This book took on Christmas with pizza and tacos usual silliness. A perfect book to lighten up the mood during the holidays and really anytime! My daughter can't wait until the next book!
Thank you to Random House Childrens and Netgalley for providing me a copy of this ARC for my honest review.
This is my first book in the Pizza and Taco series and it was very fun and cute. They have a great friendship and learn wonderful lessons about being nice and appreciating presents. It was a lovely read that I look forward to sharing with a child!
Another fantastic Pizza and Taco book!
While we read these books with my 3 and 5 year old, it keeps their attention and they love every second.
This time, Pizza and Taco are writing their Christmas Lists for Santa Slaw. After writing the lists, they realize they have to be nice to stay on the nice list.
Overall, a extremely silly book with bright eye catching art. Will be read and reread with extra reads around Christmas. Highly recommend this book and every other in the series.
Very cute book especially if you enjoy the Pizza and Taco stories. Love the comic style this book exhibits. Perfect for the upcoming Christmas season
Another adorable Pizza and Taco adventure! I love it when a series adds holiday volumes to the collection and this was no exception. The story is silly and fun and the graphics are great. Three cheers for Pizza and Taco!
*Thanks to NetGalley for a free ARC in exchange for honest review.
This books was the cutest! I loved that they did not get everything on their wish list, kids don't always get it all! Yes, it's hard but it's real! The story of friendship and trying hard to be good and earn their presents was adorable. This is sure to be a holiday hit.
This would be the perfect book for an early teen that likes comic as it's silly and there are lots of jokes written in comic style. Taco and Pizza have some adventures while trying to prove they were good and deserve Christmas gifts.
Thanks to NetGalley and the Publisher for the copy of the ARC.
Absolutely delightful. My son loved this story and has really made him want to read the rest of the series!
Cute, engaging graphics with an easy-to-follow story. I particularly liked the frames when they were making their Christmas lists (i.e. pizza playing electric guitar) and their Christmas party with their other food friends. It's simple and sweet, so perfect for kids.
My daughter who is 7 loves the pizza and taco books. She was so excited to read this one and it did not disappoint! Highly recommended to all young readers!!
I truly thought that I had read one of the books in this series before and enjoyed it, so it was a bit of a surprise to find out that I had not actually read any Pizza and Taco before. The book is fun and an easy read for someone who is just starting out with graphic novels. The artwork is bright and sharp, and there aren't a lot of words. I think of this as a variation on the whole Narwhal and Jelly series because it's probably aimed at the same audience.
Having worked the odd book fair, where kids were rushing to buyNarwhal and Jelly, I know that parents are frustrated sometimes with the fact that these books have limited text and so are not necessarily going to improve reading. But teachers of my acquaintance have said that any reading is better than no reading, and if your child likes a specific series or book, it's worth getting for them. That's how I would feel about Pizza and Taco. If my son or daughter were interested in reading the books, sure, there isn't a lot of text for them to read, but they are choosing a book over TV or video games and that's a win for me.
The story was fun. Things moved along well. And I did appreciate that there was a lesson to be learned in terms of the two friends asking for things for Christmas and not necessarily getting everything. And being happy for each other because one seems to get more than their friend.
All in all, a good read for someone who is an early reader and also not bad as a read aloud.
