Bekah McNeel writes well and writes with compassion. In a world full of division, those who suffer will always be the poor and the under privileged. Bekah gives voice to those who are harmed by privileged societies. One of the tragedies of the world we live in today, is that those who suffer are often invisible to those with privilege. So books like this which give a name to the people behind the stories are very important. But Bekah goes beyond that, she challenges the reader to consider how they can change to make the world more equal and, by extension, better for us all. This is achieved without the berating tone that is often present in social media. This book made me think about my own language and tone. This is a timely book, by an author who deserves more recognition.
