Chanel Cleeton NEVER disappoints. I love all her books, and this series is so much fun! Loved it. It is such a good pickup from where the first one left off.

I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.

I thought this one was just ok. I've loved all of Chanel's other books, and I hadn't read this one yet. Compared to everything else, this one kinda fell flat.

Yes, there was passion, but I felt like screaming at the book a few times over how stupid Maggie and Samir were. I almost DNF'd but forced myself to finish.

Chanel Cleeton’s London Falling is a heartwarming and engaging contemporary romance that brings together themes of love, self-discovery, and second chances. Set against the backdrop of London, this book tells the story of Maggie Riley, a successful attorney with a troubled past, and her unexpected encounter with Sam Thompson, a man she once loved and thought she’d left behind.

Maggie is a strong and independent character, but beneath her tough exterior lies vulnerability and a yearning for closure from her past relationships, especially the one with Sam. Her character development throughout the novel is compelling as she navigates the emotional complexities of rekindled love, career ambitions, and the desire for personal fulfillment. Sam, on the other hand, is the perfect complement to Maggie’s character. He’s charming, thoughtful, and driven by his own personal journey of redemption.

Cleeton’s writing is captivating, blending humor, romance, and a touch of nostalgia. The chemistry between Maggie and Sam is electric, and their banter is both witty and heartfelt. Cleeton masterfully captures the tension between them as they work through unresolved feelings and old wounds. The pacing of the story is well done, with a gradual buildup of emotional intensity, making the reader invested in their reunion.

One of the highlights of London Falling is Cleeton’s vivid depiction of London. The city itself becomes a character in the story, with its iconic landmarks, cozy pubs, and rainy afternoons providing the perfect setting for Maggie and Sam’s love story. The setting enhances the romance, creating a sense of place that adds depth to the narrative.

While London Falling is primarily a romance, it also explores deeper themes of forgiveness, personal growth, and the complexity of relationships. Both Maggie and Sam are forced to confront their pasts and make decisions about their futures, adding layers of emotional depth to the story.

Overall, London Falling is a delightful read for fans of contemporary romance. Chanel Cleeton weaves a heartfelt and satisfying story that will resonate with readers who enjoy second-chance love stories and a charming London backdrop. It’s a book that reminds us that love is often messy, complicated, and worth fighting for.

This three book series was very good. I god hooked after I See London which is book 1. I loved Maggie and Samir. Not to mention Mya and Fleur were incredible girl friends. I found this series both emotional and romantic. It really is a coming of age story. I See London and London Falling followed Maggie and Samir’s story which led us down the path to answer the question: what are you willing to give up to have everything you could ever want? There were some heavier topics discussed throughout but it really was a beautiful story.

~~~ I received a copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review~~~
I love this series and this second book London Falling. This is the continuation of Maggie and Samir’s relationship from the first book. And it’s hot! Great characters, great chemistry, great settings… and great storytelling on Cleeton’s part! I highly recommend. Can’t wait to read the third installment of the International School Series.
This has definitely been a year of re-releasing of books. Between HF and romance, Im finding old titles of beloved authors that I may have not gotten to. And with this one, I got to experience earlier writing of Cleeton.
A story about the London International School with Maggie returning to London and being entranced by the gorgeous Samir. It's a story about second chanced and parental expectations within love and heartache. There is exploding passion between Samir and Maggie . There was a friendship between Fleur and Maggie (ugh, loved Fleur). But there was complications in the love triangle and the family promises that simmer underneath.
Ok, so I am a HUGE fan of her HF novels with the Perez family. And I think I went into this expecting that level of depth that always sinks into. my heart. What I found was more of a complicated love story. And I'm not a huge fan of cheating being romanticized. Ugh, it felt like it was justified because Samir' marriage was "arranged". Yep no. Sister code. Moral code. I just can't. Perhaps my own lens of life on this particular sub genre but it frustrated me. I think this book was not for me.
That said, I still love all her new work. The last few years with Bookstagram booming with "new to me" authors, I have loved her stories that came my way. But this, was a miss.
Thank you to the publisher for the gifted copy. It was a "not you, its me" thing.
I am a huge fan of Chanel Cleeton's books! I find it interesting reading an author's work from an earlier time to see how they've grown as a writer. I did enjoy reading this book and loved the concept, but there were a few times when I feel the love between Maggie and Samir was forced which could have been the purpose due to Samir's family dynamics and their expectations. I guess I wanted more of a slow burn.
Overall, London Falling a book that I would recommend to anyone who loves a young love relationship and to anyone that is a fan of Cleeton's work!
This book was a struggle to finish. It was so repetitive, predictable, and juvenile.. it read like YA but would be too spicy for a teen/young adult in my opinion. It was just 300 pages of a girl ignoring her friends when she starts sleeping with on of their cousins. Can’t think of a single person I would recommend this to. I love Chanel Cleeton’s historical fiction, but this did not do it for me.
Apparently this is a direct sequel to a book I have not read. I probably should have dug up the first book before reading this one. I don't want to write a full review of this one until I'm able to get my hands on the first book and reread this one. For now I'm just giving a star rating.
So I'm going to be honest, when I requested an advance copy of London Falling, all I saw was that it was written by Chanel Cleeton. Since I've enjoyed all of her previous novels, I immediately requested it just seeing her name (assuming I had somehow missed that she had another new book out). Little did I know, this is actually the second in a romance series (The International School)! While I didn't feel like I was lost not having read the first book in the series, I did fall in love with the characters and the premise enough that I will probably go back and read the first one anyway! Very enjoyable and readable - a happy mistake!
London Falling by Chanel Cleeton was enjoyable, although there were moments when I needed to reread certain passages to grasp the storyline fully. It wasn't until later that I discovered it was part of a series, with this being the second installment. Those who have read the first book would better understand the characters and their backgrounds, making the overall reading experience more enriching.
Maggie has fallen for Samir, her best friend’s brother. But, he comes from a different world. He is expected to go back to Lebanon and follow in his father’s footsteps. Samir’s time in London is coming to a close. Can these young lovers survive the consequences if they fight to stay together.
Y’all know I very seldom read a blurb. Well, I should have read this one. I really enjoy this author and I saw her name on this book and jumped at it. This is not exactly what I expected. It is almost a young adult romance.
Y’all take this review with a grain of salt and you read it for yourself! First off, I was not in the mood for a romance! I am a moody reader so there were several places I almost eye-rolled. Also, this is part of a series, I have not read the others in the series and I probably should have before this one! I did not feel very connected to the characters and I wanted them to make better decisions.
I feel like this is a rant but it was just unexpected content for me. And that is on me! And I do enjoy this author, just not this series by her. Read this and form your own opinion.
It was a relief to get the continuation of Maggie and Samir's story. When we left them at the end of the first book, things were left in a very uncertain predicament.
As school starts back up again at the International School in London, Maggie is left wondering if and how her relationship with Samir will proceed or will it cease to exist. They spent a very silent summer apart and it's left her unsure of where they stand. This book takes them through the ups and downs of finding their way through a relationship with all the pitfalls from Samir's family added to Maggie's "baggage" from her own dysfunctional family. They definitely don't have the odds in their favor but it really forces the reader to keep turning the pages to see what will happen next. This is another solid angsty read by Chanel Cleeton.
In the midst of Maggie and Samir's story, there is also some well placed setup for Fleur's next relationship (and hence the next book) which I'm also quite curious about and eager to read.
Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC. I voluntarily chose to read and review it and the opinions contained within are my own.
This is a re-release of an older book, written before the author found her stride writing historical women’s fiction. This novel is steamy contemporary new-adult romance. Emotional and immersive, it’s the second book in a trilogy best read in order.
Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC.
I didn’t realize that this was a reference saying if a book written in 2014. I read it years ago.
I saw Chanel Cleeton wrote this one on Netgalley and had to request it. I had no idea it was an old book of hers, but I consider myself lucky to get to read more from her.
Maggie isn't like her crowd of friends at her college, the International School in London. She's there on a scholarship. She's not from a wealthy family, but was raised by her grandparents in a small home in South Carolina. The people who are supposed to lovers her never stick around and this has defined most of her life. Samir is her best friend Fleur's cousin and part of her group of friends. He thinks he's God's gift to women and behaves as such. At the end of her freshman year and his junior one, the two hook up, fully knowing he has a girlfriend and commitments back in Lebanon. But when they both return to school in the fall, it's not so easy to just be friends.
This was very sweet and very unlike all the historical fiction I've read from Cleeton previously. I didn't look up anything so the setting and time period surprised me a bit, knowing what I've read of hers before. I enjoyed it though. It was a quick read that had a lot of heart.
I rated this 3 stars, but it was more like 2.75 stars. Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin for the arc.
This is a new adult story about Maggie Carpenter and Samir Khouri, students at the International School in London. Both Maggie and Samir have to deal with surviving college at the International School, while worrying about familial obligations and expectations.
This story was frustrating to read. I lost patience with both MCs because of their inability to stand with their convictions. They caved into their lust, a lot, and then whined about their actions. Very annoying. I don't think this series is for me.
Maggie walked away from the hottest encounter of her life when she left London. Now she has returned to the International School and she can't help but want him even more. She can't afford to fall for him when his time in London is running out. He is supposed to return to Lebanon and follow in his father's footsteps. Maggie and Samir's story is explosive! The conclusion to that story is riveting and I highly recommend it. Thanks to @NetGalley for the ARC of this book.
Know that this is a reissue of a novel first published in 2014. I missed it the first time, as well as the preceding book, but that wasn't a problem, To be honest, though, I don't think I'm the right audience for this tale of three young adults- Maggie, her bff Fleur, and her love interest Samir- who meet at university in London. This addresses cross cultural issues but it's really about all the drama of love in your college years. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC, Over to others- I bet it's a hit with many.
