This is a good book. The two main characters are Kalaine and Bodhi. They are world champions surfers. They meet, and started dating. They fell in love but broke up. Several years later Kalaine has an accident. She comes back home to her brother’s house, where Bodhi lives too. They each have issues but together they work them out and fall in love.

Catch a Wave by Savannah Scott is a captivating romance novel that tells the story of a former surfing power couple. The book delves into their passionate and tumultuous relationship, set against the backdrop of the big-wave surfing world.

The narrative is filled with palpable emotions as she recounts her memories of Bodhi and their shared experiences in the surfing community. The author skillfully captures the chemistry between the characters, depicting the irresistible attraction that drew them together and the subsequent heartbreak that tore them apart.

I love second chance romance and this was a really fun and angsty one. I loved the journey and found it to be so beautiful and rewarding,

Second chance romance, brother's best friend, close proximity - all some of my favorite tropes in one novel.

Savannah Scott does a fantastic job of creating complex characters and story lines and Catch A Wave is no exception.

Mavs and Bohdi are cleary soulmates. Their love is adorable and inspirational. I enjoyed learning more about surfing and Hawaiian culture from this read but it definitely didnt overshadow the sweet romance and character development of this romcom.

This is the third book of the Love Trippin' series and was an absolute delight to read. Ms. Scott has fast become one of my favorite rom-com authors and I was excited to read this one and was not disappointed. She has such a wonderful writing style that easily pulls you into the story. The descriptions of the scenes and characters really bring the story to life. Bodhi and Kalaine’s romance was sweet and lovely and it was easily to get totally absorbed in their story. Though this is a romantic comedy, there were also some deep and emotional moments weaved within which made the story even more enjoyable. The story has so much warmth and heart and I was completely endeared to the characters, each one of which had their own struggles to go through. It was so easy to fall in love with them! This is a touching second chance romance that had me laughing and swooning and really connecting with the characters. Absolutely loved it!
My thanks to NetGalley for providing a complimentary copy. This is my honest review.

This story struck the perfect balance between the need for healing and forgiveness with laugh out loud moments. And the romance! Shoulder kisses anyone? It’s a story that had me glued to my kindle and I can’t wait to savor it all over again.

Highly recommend to closed door romcom fans! It’s a definite favorite. Though part of a series, it can be read as a standalone, but it’s more fun if you’ve read the previous books

this is my second Savannah Scott book and I was once again NOT disappointed! I loved the characters and the whole surfer vibe as well. I’ve never read a surfer before this but it will certainly not be my last! the forced proximity brought the best of tension and the second chance romance was done in a way that kept me rooting for them from start to finish.

🏄🏼second chance romance
🏄🏼surfers
🏄🏼forced proximity

Told from the perspective of exes Kalaine and Bodhi, Catch a Wave explores their physical and emotional recovery from major Big wave surfing accidents and the implosion of their relationship. I was attracted to the idea of reading a surfing romance on my beach vacation but was a little skeptical, as I’m not typically a fan of second-chance romances. However, Catch a Wave won me over with heartfelt storytelling and characters who both take an emotional journey to reach a place where they are ready for love again. I’m typically a spicy romance lover, and this book is so closed door that there isn’t a door to close, but the physical attraction between the characters is palpable, the kissing is passionate, and there were never “we have to stop” moments, so I enjoyed it far more than most similar books. I might just have to hunt down more books by Savannah Scott.

This was so sweet. It had it's slower moments for me but I really did love the romance and these two characters coming back to each other.

Book Review:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The third novel in the Love Trippin’ Series follows Bodhi and Mav’s second shot at love. Brought together over their love of surfing, the two formed an instant connection. But when Bodhi suffers a career ending injury it tears them apart. Years later the couple is unexpectedly brought together when Mav endures a similar injury. Can the couple heal old wounds, or will they learn that some relationships aren’t meant to last?

It is evident from the writing that this is a subject near and dear to Scott’s heart. Using her husband’s love of surfing as inspiration she wrote one of the most beautiful second chance romances I have read. As a result, Catch A Wave is her best work to date!!!

I fell in love with this story for many reasons, but the biggest one was Bodhi. He is the ideal love interest- classically good looking, athletic, sensitive, and devoted. But it is his vulnerability that won me over. He speaks his mind, bears his soul, and admits to struggling with his mental health. We need more male characters like him in literature and real life!

I also enjoyed the nonlinear timeline. It allowed readers to traverse back and forth between the present day as well as important periods of Bodhi and Mav’s relationship. It made for great character development. Without it the story would not have been the same.

I highly recommend reading this book. It is a true five star read. Every romance fan needs to know this love story.

Special thanks to Netgalley, Victoria Editing, and Savannah Scott for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my honest review.

*I loved this story so much I will be going back and reading the first two books in the series!!!

Just like the other books in this series, Savannah took me on a wonderful adventure as she invited me to take a peek into the lives of Bodhi and Kalaine. A great second chance, brother's best friend, HEA! Definitely one to add to the TBR!

Bodhi and Kalaine were surfing's "it couple." Their love was palpable to their fans and it was all such a fairytale. Until it wasn't.

Two years post break-up, Kalaine is coming to her brother's house with a bruised ego and broken body needing a place to recover. She doesn't expect to find that her brother's roommate is her ex-boyfriend. And she certainly doesn't have the capacity to deal with all these feelings bubbling up right now!

Bodhi has moved on from the life he had 2 years ago. But when Kalaine literally moves into his house, he realizes she might have never moved out of his heart.

Do Bodhi and Kalaine really want to face what tore them apart before? Can they find it in themselves to give their relationship a second chance?

Savannah Scott keeps adding more and more depth to her books. And once again she manages to hit the right balance of sweet, funny, and real.

I am so far removed from the surfing world, but thanks to the writing, I was on board with these two conquering the waves (both oceanic and emotional).

I loved Bodhi and Kalaine and how they were both so upfront about their feelings. They didn't play games, they went after the relationship they wanted in a forward but respectful way.

I am so excited for the next book and what it holds for Kai and what glimpses we will get to see of the characters we have grown to love over the series!
_____
This is a closed door, kisses only rom com. It is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone.

Thank you to the author for the book to review. All opinions are my own.

Four Stars- lots of feels, waves, and surfing! Bodhi is the brother of Kalaines ex but despite this, she cannot help but to feel attracted to him. I loved the surfing background, which made it so dreamy! A great beach read and lots of good tropes in this one!
Thank you for this arc :)

First off I love the name Bodhi! Loved the duel everything in the book. Timelines point of views. Second chance romance. I wish Marbella island was a real place because you’d catch me on the first flight. Being in Cali I appreciated the surfing aspects to the book too!
