I could have read another three chapters is 100% how I felt when I got to the end of this book! I LOVED this story of Josh and Brynn that definitely had me flashing back to Dawson’s Creek AND Pleasantville all the while falling headlong into their own story! Roomates Josh and Brynn fall through a ‘time space continuum’ and land in Carson’s Cove - Brynn’s longtime comfort show. But not all is as perfect as it seems and Brynn and Josh are thrust into the spotlight as main characters from the series. Can Brynn deliver Sloan’s happily-ever-after? Will Josh surprise everyone as Fletcher? This was so much fun to read!

When a birthday cake unexpectedly appears on shows up on their doorstep on her 30th birthday, she wishes for the happily ever after she’s always wanted.

But the next morning, she and Josh don’t wake up in their apartment. They’re in Carson’s Cove, with Brynn cast as the town sweetheart and Josh as the resident bad boy. To escape, they have to give the show the ending it deserved, with Brynn’s character ending up with the town heartthrob. But as Brynn and Josh spend more time together, their feelings get complicated. The two will have to decide if they give the characters their HEA, or risk it all to seek out their own.

This book had everything. Incredible tension between the couple from the first interaction! A touch of magic! All the Dawson’s Creek/Gilmore Girls/OC/Gossip Girl references you could want (but the book is more than strong enough to stand on its own merits if you weren’t into those shows)! Brynn and Josh brought each other back to life in the weirdest and most entertaining of circumstances. Kate Robb is an easy autobuy for me, and I can’t wait to place this book on the shelf in two weeks!

Rounding up to 4 stars. Not sure if I’ll be the minority but I actually really enjoyed this one. It wasn’t seamless. It had magical realism I would say? I did giggle quite a few times. It kind of gave off the good place vibe, Pleasantville vibe, One Tree Hill vibe? Definitely a fun nod to the 2000s series. Were there some holes in the story? Maybe. Was the word folds used in the worst manner which automatically makes me deduct a star? Yes. But I liked the lessons learned for each character. I also feel like any spice is very easy to skip over if you don’t want to read spice. You can pick up on where it starts and you don’t miss anything if you jump to afterwards, no important dialogue during haha. There were only 2-3 spicy scenes. I do wish a few other things were wrapped up but the point of the book is to show that not everything has a happy ending wrapped up in a pretty little bow but you still choose it because it makes life more fulfilling to experience the lows and the unknowns so you can appreciate all of the highs and when things go the way you hope for! I loved this book so much! It is so fun!!! I loved the added "villain" of Sheldon and I couldn't wait to see how everything unfolded! The friendship between Sloan (Brynn) and Luce was wonderful! Josh/Fletch gave me Jess Mariano vibes and I loved it so much!!! 🤩🤩🤩 I was elated to see Brynn's growth and how she voiced her opinions and observations at the pageant and that she found her HEN!! 🥰🥰

This book, simply put, was cute. It was nothing too special in my opinion, but it was fun & full of angsty teenage drama. The entire time I was envisioning One Tree Hill so it was fun to read a book with that premise! I enjoyed this author's writing (I read her debut novel last year) and thought she did a good job describing the setting, the characters and the overall nostalgic feel of the book.

I thought the main love story was really cute but the overarching theme was just bleh. It didn’t give the magic & the whirlwind that I was hoping for - it felt more toxic & high school drama which I didn't love. I do understand that some of that is part of the idea, but I wished it had been less pettiness and more romance between Brynn and Josh.

This book was a fun, quick read, but it didn't really pull me in. Brynn, the female MC , got divorced at 26 and is still trying to find her place in the world at 30. She accidentally makes a wish that brings her and her roommate, Josh, onto the set of her favorite teen TV show.

I enjoyed that Brynn learned about how things might look perfect on the outside but aren't always perfect on the inside. I think that's a valuable lesson for anybody at any age.

I caught many of the Dawson's Creek and One Tree Hill similarities, which was fun because those are shows I grew up with.

This book has dual POV (Brynn and Josh), forced proximity and insta-love, and is a good light read.

As a person who still watches my nostalgic TV shows, I jumped at the chance to get this eARC, especially with the Dawson's Creek vibes from the cover.

Brynn is a down on her luck divorcee who on the eve of her 30th birthday just wants to watch her favorite comfort show, Carson's Cove. When she gets a mysterious delivery and makes a wish, she and her hot roommate Josh wake up in Carson's Cove. She is excited to help her favorite characters get the ending they deserved after an abrupt cancellation ended on a cliff-hanger. But the dependability of the town she once loved is not all it is cracked up to be in real-life. Especially when she is falling for Josh and not the MMC.

I enjoyed this book. Was it everything I hoped? No, but I truly enjoyed all the teen show references of yesteryear. It was fun reading thinking of what shows the author was referencing. I guessed many of them and I LOVED that Josh was Pacey-coded. The end of the book gives details about the easter eggs and ranks the author's favorite TV boyfriends. (I agree with her list whole-heartedly!) And don't think the references are only from the 90s, it includes shows from Vampire Diaries to Riverdale. I think many millennial readers will get a kick out of the this light-hearted, fun read.

Have you ever wished you could live in the world of your favorite TV sitcom? Through a birthday wish, the FMC in this book finds herself in that position. She brings her roommate along and they enter a world that’s a send-up to Dawson’s Creek, Saved By the Bell, and 90210 and discover that maybe what’s fun in a TV show isn’t so nice in real life.

I liked the main characters in this one. Especially the MMC. Their relationship was fun with just a little spice. The FMC annoyed me at times, but I liked how the MMC treated her with respect, even when he disagreed with her decisions.

The plot required some suspension of belief. The way they joined the TV show was never well explained. But despite that, it was a fun story with some interesting characters.

Overall I really liked the story. It was funny and sweet and had a great ending.

Prime Time Romance is a story about two roommates (practically strangers) who find themselves transported into a fictional town from the female main characters favorite show.

I’m not really into alternate reality/magic in books so this was a stretch for me. About 70% of the way through it hit me that it reminded me of The Good Place tv show and that made me enjoy it a bit more.

I really enjoyed Brynn recognizing how things that once appeared perfect are not really how they seem. Loved how she was able to form a friendship with Luce. And Josh was a good guy who had faced a tough time but was kind of basic.

3.25 stars. Easy read but didn’t pull me in.

The premise of this book was really fun and different! I liked the characters, both the ones in the show and Brynn and Josh. Watching Brynn and Josh interact with the people from the show was very entertaining. I read this book pretty quickly because it was well paced and I was curious to see how everything unfolded. I think it's a good book for people who are looking for something romance but still want a plot. Thank you to Dial Press Trade Paperback and NetGalley for this ARC!

I was so excited to read this after last years This Spells Love. However, I didnt feel the same connection and butterflies with this book as I did last year.
I enjoyed the 90s/00s references. That was when i grew up so i really enjoyed those little bits. I could really connect with that. But the characters left me wanting. I didnt feel any connection or chemistry.

Another great read from Kate Robb! Such a fun spin on the Pleasantville-esque setup, Had a fantastic time with this one ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

I enjoyed this book literally from beginning to end! 😍
As Brynn’s birthday was coming to an end, Josh and Brynn get a strange cake delivery that made them wake up in Brynn’s favorite teen drama show when she blows out the candles wishing for a perfect life with a happy ending.

I loved Brynn, but I think I loved Josh more! 🩷 his character development was my absolute favorite! I loved how playing Fletch (in Carson’s Cove) reminded and helped spark up that love he had for his dad’s bar after sadly losing it after the pandemic. I also did enjoy how eventually Brynn playing as the main character in the show (Sloane) gave her the perspective that having a perfect life won’t always make you happy. I was cheering for her after she gave Luce her pageant dress because tbh I never really like Poppy to begin with 😅

Lastly, Brynn and Josh’s moment made me swoooooon! The first kisses, the spice screens, and the bush scene were sooo cutie and I just adored 🥹

After a few set backs over the last few years all Brynn wants after a bad night out is to watch her favorite comfort show and relax. When a stranger knocks on her door with a birthday cake that she makes a wish on, Brynn and her roommate Josh find themselves in the world of her favorite TV show with the mission to give it a proper ending. It soon becomes soon that maybe this perfect happily ever after isn’t everything it cracked up to be.

Oh my goodness. I loved Brynn and Josh. I liked that both of them had their own issues that they needed to work through while in Carson’s Cove. Josh was the right amount of broody but also an ultimate gentleman. It would have been easy to write this with Brynn loving every moment of her time in the town of her favorite TV show but it was refreshing to see her fighting against it and coming into her own truth. I enjoyed alll the 90s/early 2000s teen TV show Easter eggs and vibes. This was a fun read and I’m excited to see what Kate does next!

At almost thirty, Brynn feels as if her life has already tanked. Stunned by a divorce she had no idea that was coming, Brynn has tried the dating Apps with little to no luck. She would rather be home, snuggled up on her couch binging her favorite teenage soap opera where life was perfect, or was it? Along with her roommate, Josh, whom Brynn barely knows, she is thrust into the bizarre world of that very soap opera with its panoply of perfect pretty girls and handsome men. Two main characters, Sloan and Spencer, seemed fated to be together until the show ended abruptly on a cliffhanger to everyone’s dismay. This story is set fifteen years later with Sloan(Brynn) and Spencer returning to the quaint Carson’s Cove village.

Once Brynn and Josh, who has assumed to roll of the local bad boy, Fletch, are living this strange reality, she begins to see that what her teenage heart deemed as perfect is something else entirely. Brynn thought Spencer was the perfect boy, now a man, until she gets to know him. Josh has been dealing with his own issues after a series of losses, both personal and professional.

The idea that you cannot go home again is true for this fictional setting as well. The story has some interesting meta aspects especially with the popularity of the Barbie movie; however, it does seem to drag at times while Brynn tries to recreate things that happened to high school kids on an adult level. While Brynn is role playing, she begins to realize that a lot of injustices and sexism existed in the fictional town. The dark side becomes more evident especially with the creepy character who was responsible for Brynn and Josh ending up in this alternate reality in the first place. Readers who enjoyed shows of that ilk such as Dawson’s Creek may find this story to their liking.

The premise sounds interesting but honestly the fact that they get pulled into the show with the character names had me honestly confused. I also felt like neither MC had any personality or development. They felt way too surface level which made reading this feel a bit slow.

Overall I felt this was too cutesy and boring instead of standing out and delivering a romance I felt I could actually care about.

This is for all the Pacey girls out there. It felt like a love letter to all the best 90s and 2000s teen dramas. I could not stop smiling; I just had such a fun time reading this.

On her 30th birthday she makes a wish that everything will have a happy ending. The two of them then wake up the next morning trapped inside the world of her favorite tv show, Carson’s Cove (obviously based on Dawson’s Creek).

Brynn is living as Sloan, the main character of the show. She is supposed to give her a happy ending with the main guy, Spencer. But Josh is living as Spencer, he’s living as the town bad boy, Fletcher.

My favorite season of Dawson’s Creek is when Joey and Pacey finally get together, and reading this felt like watching that for the very first time. It was just so fun and made me feel so giddy. Seeing Josh get frustrated because he knew he really liked Brynn but didn’t know if she felt the same and then them finally getting together just felt magical.

This just made me feel so nostalgic. It really was like watching your favorite comfort show. I also loved all the little easter eggs to other shows. It just added to the fun. Absolutely loved this one.

I loved it! It was very nostalgic. Who wouldn't want to be transported into their favorite show! But I love that even though Brynn got what she thought she always wanted she was able to see what was in front of her. Josh was swoon worthy and just so sweet. I ARC read this authors last book This Spells Love and I would have to say I loved this one even more. A sweet comfy romance with a magical twist!

I absolutely love how Kate Robb puts magical realism in her books, it ups the cuteness factor for me. I was team Josh through the whole book, I absolutely adore that man. Brynn was adorable, I loved their relationship with each other.
