Such a sweet book to read with littles! The World is Awaiting You is full of self affirming messages, showing them that they have so much to give to the world just by being themselves and doing what they love or have passion for. I enjoyed sharing this with them!
This is a wonderful book for children. The messages of the book are to be positive and with your activities to do good things for yourself and your best friends. But when it's hard for you, you have the right to the holidays for you.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Marianne Richmond for sharing the e-copy of this fantastic children's book
Thank you to Sourcebooks Jabberwocky, the author and Net Galley for the ARC!
This is a classic Marianne Richmond, who will always have a place on our shelf! Her signature lyrical poetry with tight rhymes is as charming as ever. I find that a lot of sentimental books are about nighttime and all that has been done during the day, so I love that this one would be a great way to begin the morning. Five shining stars!
Such a feel good board book! Anyone who reaches for this book will get blessed for the entire day!
Just go grab the book when it comes out because I am jealous of you and the kids who are going to experience reading this book for the first time.
Expect dropping your jaw with the amazing illustrations and your eyes to sparkle reading the magical words!
The world is not that dark and scary after all!
Thank you, Sourcebooks Jabberwocky, for the ARC.
The World Is Awaiting You is the perfect book for any young person who is ready to get a little independence and it teaches them that they are perfect just the way they are and that they should be themselves when they are meeting new people and doing new things. Cute illustrations will keep children interested in the story as it's being read. A great lesson for any child, maybe before they start school, so they can be confident in themselves.
There are so many books that can be found encouraging kids to go out and live their lives. But I found this one special and sweet. The simple illustrations are inviting and the message is told in a simple but powerful way. Would be great to discuss with your little how God made them unique and how he has a plan for their life.
Heartfelt and A Beautiful Book
I am so in love with this special book. It is a true treasure. Every page is meaningful for me and for my little ones. I loved every word of this little story. It is a celebration of life for every child and all that we as parents and caregivers want for them. It is full of love and encouragement and celebrating each individual child for the unique way they are themselves. The book encourages children to celebrate what makes them unique, their style, their thoughts and how they treat others. It shows them to believe in themselves, find compassion and show who they really are. You have to read this story to truly understand how amazing each page is individually and all together. It has become our new favorite snuggle time read. It is so comforting and full of love and inspiration. My favorite page of all is the “the world is awaiting the story that's yours to plot and pen”!! The illustrations use calm colors and art that really show the meaning of the story. This story is sure to be a family treasure for years to come. It is a perfectly written show of love. This would make an absolutely wonderful gift for new parents and caregivers to read together with their little ones.

I received an ARC from SOURCEBOOKS Kids | Sourcebooks Jabberwocky via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This story is so adorable! I love the incredibly powerful message and positivity it brings.
The illustrations are captivating, words per page also allow for easier flow to share with a younger audience. The messages within are also appropriate for older elementary age as well.
This one is all about embracing yourself, allowing yourself to grow, and being kind. My 6 year old son LOVED this, and we will be buying copies for him and his best friend when it releases in September!
Thank you so much Marianne Richmond for sharing an e-copy of your beautiful story with me. I look forward to seeing what else you come up with!
I liked the ideas, illustrations, and writing of this book, I just didn't find it very interesting, personally. I want to note that I feel like this book is more intended for young, young kids due to the theme of the whole book (the title says it all). For this much younger audience, I think that this is a really sweet book. Even though a few words here and there might be a bit advanced, I think that the overall message will still get through to the readers. As for the illustrations, they were very beautifully done. Every different scene was done in bright and stunning color, with lots of interesting detail included. On top of that, the style of the illustrations fit the intended audience perfectly and will capture attention. Lastly, I thought that the writing was done in a nice and poetic way, allowing the story to flow easily and smoothly while keeping the reader engaged. This book was great all around, it just wasn't my personal favorite.
The World Is Awaiting You by Marianne Richmond is a beautiful and uplighting tribute to you. A child will realize how special he or she is from the words and illustrations on the pages. The book begins, "Happy day! You're here at last. The start of something new."
The world is awaiting your face, eyes, nose, and chin.
The world is awaiting your mind, your thoughts, your hands, your feet, your voice, and the story that's yours to plot and pen.
The world is awaiting your courage, your stop and rest, your heart, your spirit, and your love.
Make your mark, believe in your spark, because the world is awaiting you!
This is an example of how an "about you" reads. "The world is awaiting your courage to fuel your how and when. If things get hard as things will do, and trouble shows its face, the world is awaiting your stop and rest to give yourself some space."
The words in this book are absolutely beautiful and I love them all. A book like this should be read and heard by every child.
"The World is Awaiting You" by Marianne Richmond celebrates the unique qualities each child brings into the world from the way they think, to the things they'll create, and the words they'll share. Children will delight in the reassurance that there never has been nor will there ever be a kid just like them and who they are is of great value. The soft and dreamlike illustrations pair well with this soothing message of encouragement and unconditional love, culminating in the perfect bedtime story.
The World Is Awaiting You, written by Marianne Richmond and illustrated by Sally Garland is a sweet book for younger readers. This book encourages readers to show care and kindness to themselves and those around them, to be themselves, and take time away when needed. It has very kind sentiments and beautiful illustrations that are sure to be enjoyed! Definitely recommend! Thank you to NetGalley, and to the publisher, author, and illustrator of this book for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
A really cute story encouraging children to follow their dreams and to lead life with kindness and love. What a great message. I will definitely be recommending this one to all parents.

I was very excited to read this book, as I love the message it brings. The illustrations and art style is lovely and matches the book very well.
I appreciate the diversity included in the characters. I do think I would have preferred the child using a wheelchair to be on really any other page though. I would have also liked to see more children with visible disabilities or differences included.
Overall, I did like this book and would recommend it to those with young children or just enjoy children’s books.
This is a very touching story about being your own person and shining your own light in the world. Everyone is different and we all have something to offer this old world. The illustrations are soft and beautiful, and I know our library patrons - young and old - would love this book. Highly recommended.
