This book was full of drama and mystery.
The author leaves us (and the main character Amy) constantly guessing on what is really going on. I'll be honest, I didn't love Amy.
The romance was okay. The way it started was a little insta-lovey. There were a few moments that I found myself rolling my eyes if I'm being honest.
It was off to a good start, but I was losing interest in the middle.
Not a fan of the cliffhanger at the end!
I requested this several years ago, I will not be reviewing it now but will try my best to review it in the future. Thank you for the opportunity.
Great romantic suspense. The chemistry!!!
Many thanks to Julie Patra Publishing and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.
This book was requested when I was young and requested more books than I could possibly read. Sadly, I no longer have access to this book and my tastes have changed. Thus I will not be able to give feedback on this title.
UGH, this one was really bummed me that I could not get into this book and almost DNFed a few times. I disliked the main characters and their story. So disappointed!
If you have problems with huge cliff hangers then step away now. If not, then grab yourself a copy of Escaping Reality by Lisa Renee Jones. Mystery, suspense, desires as only LRJ can do left me sitting at the end of my seat.
Liam is hot but it’s Amy, and her secrets, that kept me from putting this book down. She’s been living her life on the run, and just when she thinks things will be okay, the past comes back to haunt her. Struggling to deal with starting over yet again, she meets Liam, a brilliant billionaire who doesn’t take no for an answer. They start a passionate love affair, but her past is always lurking. What are his secrets? Will her past get them both killed? Ack!
And just when it gets really good…CLIFF HANGER! I need the next book now!

I received this book from Netgalley. I was not compensated for the book other than the entertainment it provided. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
BADLY WRITTEN BUT KIND OF COMPELLING NONETHELESS; SORT OF A "50 SHADES" KNOCKOFF MIXED WITH ROMANTIC SUSPENSE
This is the first time reading anything by this author, so I didn't really know what to expect. This book was fast paced and easy to read. There were lots of twists and turns that I didn't expect. I look forward to reading more from this author. I highly recommend this book.
Well this started off well. I like the idea of Amy running around and how her and Liam meet. The plane journey was a good scene to read. The romance was nice to read and the ending left me wanting to read the next one. I just felt that in parts I was drifting and found it hard to concentrate.
The suspense was good but too much sex in this book for me to purchase it for my high school library.
This adult romance is really great and has a lot of twists and turns that keep you guessing. I want to read the next one now!
I did not have a chance to read this book, but it is effecting my feedback rating. I am giving books 5 stars that I haven't read to improve my feedback rating. I am not recommending the book for my classroom or students since I have not read the book. There needs to be a better system of leaving feedback for books not read.
When I first got this, I was super excited about the book. But unfortunately, I'm no longer interested in reading it at this point and I don't want to hold onto it any longer.
While the book was well written, and the premise was quite thrilling and promising, I couldn't really connect to Amy and was rather indifferent to her journey, which was a bummer, considering we spend a lot of time with her in this book
This was an amazing book that sucked me right in and there was no escaping from it.
It moved along at a fantastic pace, has characters that grab you and no matter what you can't help but to love them but at the same time you have to wonder about them, and a story that will keep you entertained from the very first word till the very last word.
I cannot wait to read more from the fantastic writing of Lisa Renee Jones.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book (given by Netgalley)...
This book was filled with so much mystery and passionate moments. I could tell right from the beginning this book was going to have a MAJOR cliffhanger and I wasn’t disappointed. There is so much going on with Amy (aka Laura) that we given the bare minimum information but enough to know something traffic happened in the past and has returned in Amy’s present. I have to say I was skeptical of Liam in the beginning but he won me over, but after that ending I have even more questions.
Amy is on the run from her past that we only get little glimpses from; right from the beginning she is told to run but after that everything goes a little crazy. Who is Meg, Luke and Mr Williams? Who/where is Amy’s handler? Liam, good or bad? There is so much we don’t know but I can’t wait to find out more!
I have tried to read this book numerous times over the past year and, for whatever reason, I always end up having to put it down. I finally decided that I was going to read Escaping Reality once and for all and I'm happy to say that I've successfully finished!
I was intrigued by the premise of this book as soon as I heard about it. The very idea of Amy Bensen, a woman who is constantly on the run from someone, is extremely interesting and draws interest about her life, the kind of person she is, and the situations that she gets herself into.
I enjoyed this book enough to continue on to book two. Book one was great at world and character building but didn't really have a lot going on. It kind of seemed like it was just setting up the story for the rest of the series and doesn't work if you just want to read one book without continuing.
There were a lot of steamy moments in Escaping Reality, of that I will not complain, but the relationship between the two main characters went at an extremely fast pace and I honestly couldn't muster up any emotional connection to either of them. Liam was intense, and not really in a good way and, for Amy to constantly be on the run and looking over her shoulder, she gave in to Liam really quickly and didn't do much to protect herself from other people.
It's an okay read and I plan to check out book two, simply because I'm curious about Amy's past, but I wouldn't read Escaping Reality again.
I struggled to get into this title.
It was well written and the writing style was what kept me turning pages with ease.
Just I couldn't connect with Amy.
Amy is harboring some secrets from her past that have forced her to flee from her old life as Lara and create a new identity. Her mysterious "Handler" watches out for her and alerts her to the need to flee from New York where her identity has been compromised and arranges for a new identity and life in Denver. At the airport/on the airplane on her way to Denver, Amy meets Liam Stone, a "darkly entrancing recluse billionaire, who is also a brilliant, and famous, prodigy architect". Experiencing an instant attraction to one another, Liam refuses to allow Amy to say no to him, and they begin a passionate affair. Amy's attraction to Liam, as well as her ability to "Escape Reality" when she is with him, sets Amy on path of reevaluating the way she has to live her life always looking over her shoulder and never trusting anyone, which then has her trying to figure out how she can unravel the secrets of her past.
I was hookes from the very beginning. I have never read anything by this author and was pleasantly surprised. I was flipping pages and reading way into the night.
