Love, love, love this book! This is the third book I have read by Sara Goodman Confino and she has become one of my favorite authors whose books I will read immediately when released. She writes strong, intelligent, independent female characters that will make you laugh and cheer for.

A fantastic book! Hard to put down. If I didn’t have to work I could easily have read it in one sitting. Behind every good man is most definitely an incredible woman! Sara Goodman Confino has done it again with a strong female lead in Beverly and great supporting characters like her mom Millie. Witty, bright and so entertaining. I also enjoyed the historical aspect of election campaigning in the 1960’s compared to today. It’s great to know how far we’ve come especially with women in strong leadership roles. A great read that left me wanting to read more.

A beautifully written story in the 1960s depicting a woman’s path to rediscovering herself after trying to fit the role of a doting housewife to a politician’s campaign manager. I wasn’t alive during the 60s but I felt the underlying themes /historical references of the Soviets, racism against Jews, the female role in a marriage, and women’s rights shining through. Would definitely recommend this book, I could easily see this being turned into a movie. Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read this advanced copy!

This was a very enjoyable story. As a feminist, I enjoyed a Female MC who is not afraid to take care of herself. Sarah Goodman Confino wrote a really enjoyable and powerful story. If you like historical fiction about strong women, you will love this book!

This is the second book I have read by Sara Goodman Confino and the second I have absolutely loved! loved this book! I feel in love with all the character, well expect one :) Once I pick up her books, I just can not get it it down until the last page! Loved the reference to the characters from DFTW as well!

I decided to give this author another try since finding her last book, Don’t Forget to Write, good, but not great. And I felt the same way about this book, although it may have been slightly better with a more interesting plot and better developed characters; the mom and daughter, Debbie, were my favorite characters. I did laugh out loud once!

I am a huge fan of Sara Goodman Confino and I love all of her books. This one was particularly special because the major female characters were inspired by real badass women in history that don’t get the recognition they deserve. I think it’s amazing that Confino has gone and given them a voice through literature. I also loved her main character, Beverly, and was excited that Bev was related to characters from Don’t Forget to Write! I’m so excited for this book to publish!

This is another must read from Sara! I just adore her books and love that this one was set in the 1960s and there’s a tie in to Don’t Forget to Write. It made me want to read that one again!

Bev is a force to be reckoned with and I was cheering for her throughout the book. I’m not usually a fan of politics, but I enjoyed seeing it from the campaign perspective and I learned so much about society’s view of women in the 60s.

As with all of her books, I learned something new, I’m immediately drawn to the main character, and there’s always an amazing supporting cast. Her books are the type that you pick up and don’t want to put down until you’re finished!

This is my first Sara Goodman Confino novel and it certainly won’t be my last! It is truly a feel good story with the perfect amount of romance and humour. It is a look into the past, set in the 1960’s American politics era. I absolutely love the female empowerment in this with a happy ending 💝

Beverly, the daughter of a congressman, wife of a campaign manager and mother to two young children walk’s in on her husband having an affair. In a time when women were expected to put up and shut up, Beverly fights back and proves to everyone around her that women are more than just housewives!

When I saw this book, I knew it was going to be a great one and sure enough, it was amazing. I simply couldn’t put it down.
Once again, Sara has written a fantastic book!! I absolutely loved it. I love the humor throughout. It made me cry, made me laugh and over all it had a wonderful plot. I can’t wait to read more of her work!

I absolutely loved this book! Sara Goodman Confino knows how to write. She did a great job at developing the characters and making us care about them. I loved the serious parts of this book and the funny parts. I think the storyline was great. I don't know much about politics, but it was just enough for me to understand and care about the people involved. Great read!

Another fantastic book by Sarah Goodman Confino! Full of strong female characters and women who support each other, Behind Every Good Man gave me all the feels plus some fantastic laugh out loud moments. It was a quick five star read for me and I was sad when it was over. I loved the cameos of characters from the author's previous books and I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next. WOW! I don’t know where to start. Behind Every Good Man is an incredible and heartwarming story that reminds us that women can do it all, can go against the grain, but that it wasn’t easy (still isn’t easy) not that long ago. This is a political drama that hits the right notes, bringing in romance, family, scandal, and lighthearted humor.

This book left me laughing out loud and wanting to stay up all night to finish it. A beautifully written story! Thank you to NetGalley and Sara Goodman Confino for the ARC. Sara Goodman Confino’s book “ Behind Every Man” was a 4 star pick for me.the storyline was 100%, and the characters were well developed and relatable ( esp as a mom myself). I loved everything about this book!

Sara Goodman Confino is one of my favorite writers of complicated women and their relationships, and this book is no exception. Bev was a delight, and her relationship with her mother was relatable to me in a deep way. Bev’s was a story of moxie, perseverance, and self reflection. I found myself rooting for her, for Michael, and even for Stuart at the end.

What sets Goodman Confino’s writing apart is her incredible wit. I found myself laughing out loud at the banter. I throughly enjoyed this book until the last word!

I enjoyed her others so much that I read all three within 1 week. This was no different and i finished it in two days. What i love about her stories is that the female lead is always growing and feeling empowered to do more.
Set in the early 1960s, Behind Every Good Man focuses on the main character going through a divorce after discovering her husband is cheating on her. Having lived a life in the shadows of men in politics, she takes it upon herself to work on the campaign of the Senator running against her soon-to-be ex's candidate. This was during a time when women didn't have jobs like campaign manager and I love that she demanded it and proved everyone wrong that she would do a great job.
One other part that I love about Sara's books is that she always has main characters whom are Jewish. During a time when anti-semitism is running rampant, I love reading about a main character who is proud to be a Jew. The story doesn't smack you int he face with it but there is the under-cover hatred that can be felt and that, too, is addressed.
Overall, I loved the book! It wasn't the 5-star read that Don't Forget To Write was but I totally enjoyed it and would recommend it. Can't wait to see what she comes up with next to read!

This was my first book by this author. I have seen people rave about Sara Goodman Confino books but never understood. NOW I understand. This book was a quick read. It focused on Bev and her personal growth. It was an aspiring read. I think one of my favorite parts was how the romance was almost an afterthought. It wasn’t the main focus of the book - her story was. I will definitely be reading more books by Sara after this one!

I love how well Sara Goodman Confino always seems to write strong women who are still flawed and therefore relatable.
