An anthology of short stories somehow connected but not part of a novel. Steampunk mainly.
I enjoyed and appreciated the storytelling and the world building.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher for this ARC, all opinions are mine
Thank you Danielle Ackley-McPhail, Netgalley, and Paper Phoenix Press for this free ARC in exchange for a review.
Unfortunately, none of the characters in these stories were fleshed out enough to care about, and none of the stories were particularly interesting.
Historical fiction is one of my favourite genres and as such I have a real soft spot for Steampunk and reflections of Jules Verne.
Echoes of the Divine is a compendium of short stories and in itself, a short read.
The writing style was not my usual taste in respect of HIstorical/ steampunk but I like how Ackley-McPhail is developing a unique space of their own within the genre. As such, I would certainly recommend this book as the story concepts are interesting and they work together. I think each short story could be expanded into a novella series
Certainly an author to explore further
Thank you to Netgalley, eSpec Books, Paper Phoenix Press and the author Danielle Ackley-McPhail for this very interesting ARC. My review is left voluntarily and all opinions are my own

This is a science fiction collection of short stories. Many of them were just so "out there" that I shouldn't have liked these, but my god I did. These were so much fun, and if you just don't take any of this too seriously, you'll have a lot of fun reading these too!
