Clare Gilmore is one of my auto-buy authors, and Perfect Fit was just as delicious as Love Interest! I like the commentary on hustle culture and the fulfilling character arc for Josie. I'll be purchasing a hard copy for a re-read upon publication!

Since I’m writing a romcom, I’m filling all my summer days reading romcoms by my favorite authors!

I was fortunate enough to get an ARC of Perfect Fit by @claregilmorewrites via @netgalley, and let me tell you: it’s the “perfect fit” for a poolside read.

Clare is one of my auto-buy authors after my obsession with her first novel, Love Interest. Perfect Fit delivers the ideal vibe for summer, complete with a likable main character and all the best tropes. 😉

Can’t wait to get the physical copy for my bookshelves (vs. my poor Canva-edited Kindle version)!

I really enjoyed Love Interest last year, but I have to say that Clare absolutely knocked this novel right out of the park. I LOVED this story and everything about it. There was no sophomore slump with Clare. Josie was such a relatable MC and Will is definitely going to be your next book boyfriend. This story was utter perfection and I can't wait to read Clare's next release! Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for this ARC. All opinions are my own.

Perfect Fit is a stand alone romance featuring Josephine and Will. This is a second chance, small town romance that I could not put down.

I wanted more of Zoe, Josephine's ex best friend and Will's twin sister, as well as more about the drama between them, however this was still a fantastic read that I will definitely reread in the future.

3.5 stars for this one!

Quick summary- Overworked, successful, fashion CEO, Josie, has spent her entire twenty’s focused on work and not love. As burnout is quickly approaching so is possibly a chance with her perfect man. Enter Will Grant, a new consultant for Josie’s company and he also happens to be her high school, ex-best friend’s, twin brother (who she made out with!)… Will she learn how to balance her work and her life in order for a shot with her perfect match?

Let’s talk about what I loved about this book first. I enjoyed that the leading lady (and her best friend) were incredibly hard-working, career focused, and successful! The topic of burnout and struggling to balance, especially with females, is something that is often overlooked. Clare Gilmore did such an incredibly job of portraying this struggle.

Josie also struggled with the toxicity of social media and I believe this is a harsh reality that a lot of people face. To paint a bigger picture of that is something I’m not used to in a Rom Com & Gilmore nailed it.

I adored the character of Will and I think it was a good depiction of opposites attract and truly finding the perfect person for you. I appreciated how mature and communicative this relationship was and we avoided dealing with a 3rd act break up or some drama. They were able to figure things out like, well….adults!!! Very refreshing.

My biggest issue with this book was the underlying conflict between Josie and her ex-best friend. It was hard for me to believe that a childish, high school, friendship fallout would still be causing such a fuss almost 10 years later when everyone is now adults and successful in their lives. I understand that Will coming back into the picture unlocked some past issues for Josie but I couldn’t wrap my head around this being such an issue.

Overall, I’d recommend this book and look forward to reading more from Clare Gilmore. Loved her talking about issues that a lot of other authors in this genre avoid and I loved the portrayal of a mature relationship.

Josephine Davis has spent the better part of her 20s building her successful clothing business. But is being 'girl boss' all its cracked up to be? Especially when she's sacrificed her personal life. After running (literally) into Will Grant, brother of her ex-best friend (and partly responsible for the end of their friendship), Josie finds herself at a crossroads. Will she follow her heart or will she continue to run herself into the ground?

Whipsmart and thoughtful, Clare Gilmore explores success, self-doubt, work/life balance, the double standards women face and the negative aspects of social media. From the first sentence to the last, this book was well-paced and had me devouring each chapter. I appreciated the emphasis on Josie's growth and development, instead of throwing in the usual cliche obstacles for drama's sake. Supporting characters were also lovely and I liked that her major investor/mentor - old enough to be her father - was also someone who treated her like an equal.

The romance is swoony. Will is the perfect man for Josie, understanding her needs before her, always in her corner, from the business consulting he does professionally for Revanant, to the personal. He gives her space. He caretakes. He is just the sort of man we all deserve.

The ending? It may cause controversy but I think it was its equal parts genius and infuriating. Hence its perfection. One can only hope maybe just maybe down the track Clare Gilmore might throw us a bone down the track and give us further insight into Josie's happy ever after.

Thanks to St Martin's Griffin and NetGalley for the ARC.

I did not think I would love reading this as much as I did. The build up of the relationship, the genuine friendships and the backstory were so endearing. The main connections in the book seemed so real from the beginning and I ate it up. So many rom-com type books have a lot of cringy, over the top moments when it comes to the “spice” and I appreciated that this did not. Honestly this feels like a story that will be a comfort read to me, like a show you’ve seen a million times and it’s still as enjoyable as ever when you watch it again and again. Thankful to netgalley for the opportunity to read this book!

This is such a perfect book! Josie is the successful CEO of a fashion brand, but her entire self-worth is tied to her work. Will is a consultant hired to help Josie’s company become B- corp certified and the sparks fly immediately. Turns out they knew each other in high school but ruined each other’s lives.
This is a book about second chance romance, growing with each and giving each other space to mature.
It was such a profoundly sweet story of two people who are just trying their best! I am very much in love with Will 💕

I can definitely say that I have found my next book boyfriend and his name is Will Grant. From the very beginning, I could tell he had been smitten for her back in high school and was still true today. All the things he did for her through the story just showed why he would make the best book boyfriend. One thing I loved about this book is the way the relationship grew between Josie and Will. He was in her life back in high school and suddenly appears in her life again. Josie is the burnt out CEO of a clothing company she created and he becomes a consultant she hires to help her. They both come to some realizations throughout the story that leads them to be their very best selves by the end. I thoroughly enjoyed the story but in parts, there were situations (or storylines) that didn't feel necessary to the basis of the story. I loved the dynamic between Josie and Camila, as well as her relationship with Will. This was my first Clare Gilmore novel, and I don't think it will my last!

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an arc.
I want to say that I absolutely loved Josie and Will. Their dynamic was very intriguing from the beginning, and Will was very sweet from the moment he was introduced on page.
After not seeing each other for nearly a decade, Josie and Will run into each other and they are immediately struggling to stay away from each other. Very quickly, Josie hires Will as a consultant for her clothing company, and they are spending a lot of time together. On a trip abroad meeting suppliers, their relationship takes a major turn.
Though Josie is a workaholic and frequently tells herself that she cannot get attached to Will because of her job, they can’t seem to stay away from each other.
I loved the way the romance played out in this book, and the way Josie feels about herself is how I feel about myself, so her character resonated a lot more with me.

Although Perfect Fit by Clare Gilmore gives us a story about Josephine Davis has spent her entire twenties building Revenant, a fashion brand headquartered in downtown Austin. When her biggest investor orders Josie to hire a consultant, the last person she expects to be working with is Will Grant – the twin brother of her ex best friend.

First off I love the relationship between Josie and Will on the second chance romance story line in my opinion Zoe made a big deal of Josie and Will one mistake that should have clear up in the beginning. I really wanted to love this book but it only made me go into a reading slump.

My rate 3.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you NetGalley for the advance copy of Perfect Fit by Clare Gilmore. #NetGalley

Will literally runs into his twin sister’s former high school best friend while biking to a meeting. Josie remembers him as a jerk and the reason she and his sister, Zoe, are estranged. When the cause of the girl’s estrangement is revealed, I had to wonder what the big deal was. As Josie and Will worked together, more is revealed, and I remembered how intense everything felt at that age.

Josie is the CEO of her own company now and every moment of her time is scheduled. I loved Will's character and how he attempted to show her how to bring balance back to her life. Josie is an excellent example of a strong, successful female who learns the career she once loved no longer brings joy.

I really enjoyed reading this book. The dialog and chemistry between all characters was on point. 4⭐️

Woahhhhhhh wow! So so so so good! So good!

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC and to Clare for writing two beautiful characters and taking us on such a great journey. I absolutely devoured this one and fell instantly in love with Josie and Will and desperately needed to add ICOMLs to my life STAT! Being a Texas girl, I loved the setting in Austin too! I loved all of Josie’s growth and her beautiful friendships with her girlies and much as her devotion to her business and her man. It was super incredible watching two burned out millineals (high, I’ve been one!) recognize that struggle and self correct. And the spice, woah! I loved it and thought it perfectly accented the book. 5 stars! Excellent, Perfect Read!

When I read the description I thought this would be more enemies to lovers. Forced to work with someone by her boss. Kind of misleading in my opinion.
I wish there was more Zoe
Feel like the story line with Margaret is reaching sure she was fired but she was given a severance package after totally flopping the pop up.why? What did she really get out of that? Was she mad? Wasn't believable unless I missed something.
Also hated the no closure end

Clare Gilmore is a MUST BUY.

Her characters are so witty and clever - she has banter that Emily Henry fans would love: she tackles complex storylines and explored difficult topics in a vulnerable, genuine way.

It’s hot and steamy but still feels so real.

WOW I loved this.

This book was... perfect? The perfect love story, the perfect look into a life built around work and nothing else and the subsequent burnout, the perfect look into healthy communication, perfect friendships, JUST PERFECT, OKAY?

Maybe I'm being a little bit hasty with such a big word for a book but I genuinely did not dislike a single thing about it!!!!

Josie was so genuine and relatable. I saw myself in so much of how much she cares about certain things, like her admittance to being vain, which I found so damn refreshing. I was rooting for her the entire book.

Will Grant, a perfect specimen! An ex-finance bro turned consultant turned a secret third thing that I love so much?????? Endlessly supportive, incredibly wholesome, insanely fucking hot. His random acts of kindness toward Josie had me in tears multiple times. One of my favorite heroes, that's for sure.

I loved this book, the end. Thank you to SMP and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Enter Josephine, a late 20s overworked and overbooked CEO of a high end clothing company.
She puts all her time and energy into her company and none towards dating and love interests until….
Will.

Will is the twin brother of Josie’s ex best friend, Zoe.
He is also an old flame of Josie’s.

We get to see the relationship blossom between the two amongst many personal struggles.

Will knows exactly what to say at the right time. He’s a ‘perfect fit’ for Josie and I adored these two.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for allowing me to read and review Perfect Fit.

Loved it. There were times where I thought Will was a little *too* perfect and that took me out of the story a tiny bit. But honestly, that’s why I read books like this anyway so who cares- not me!

Josie, a young CEO of a fashion company that she launched herself, finds herself car-to-bike with Will, who happens to be a consultant for companies like hers. However, that wasn’t the first time they’ve met. Will is the twin brother of Josie’s high school best friend (detangle that one) and he happens to be the reason Josie and her are no longer friends. A mutual mistake in high school changed both their paths and now they find themselves here 10 years later.

I can’t count the amount of times that I caught myself gushing over the two of them. There were also multiple times that I wanted to punch Josie in the face just to get her out of her own head! Which is also so relatable and it didn’t feel like that problem got dragged on too long. It had a great slow-burn with a HEA. Also surprisingly, a great surprise for me who loves this rarity, no third act breakup.

5/5 ⭐️ a perfect little gushy romance book
3/5 🌶️ romance was good and well placed- not a lot of it but still solid

A self made female CEO reconnects with her past, while figuring out what she really wants from her future. Will and Josie start working together and rediscovering old feelings. In this slow burn romance that heats up the drama in the third act. I found myself rooting for Josie, Will, Revenant and all the really fun flushed out side characters. Set in the world of fashion and beautiful Austin, TX this novel has it all!

Another lovely romance by Clare Gilmore. Josie was a great character to follow and her friends (the minor characters) livened up the story. My only quibble with the book (that kept it from being 5 stars) was how often people used her full name. I didn't believe that her best friends would use "J," "Josie," and "Josephine" all in the same conversation. It happened enough that it was distracting and kept me from fully immersing in the story.
