this was a cute & sweet second chance romance about josie (ceo of a fashion brand) & will (a consultant for her company + her ex best friends twin). i enjoyed this, clare's writing is flowy and fun! i loved and appreciated the communication from the start of the book and no third act breakup! yay! i do think it felt a bit rushed at times but other times it dragged a bit (idk) there was just something missing in this one for me but overall it was a cute and lighthearted read ๐ค thank you so much st. martin's press & netgalley for the arc!
I really liked the characters in this book and the love story was really well done. Very much a love story for millennials, especially with the struggle of identity tied to productivity and public persona and issues with social media. Lots of cute references.
Will was...wow! Swoon worthy for sure! Great male romantic interest!
Quick easy read! The book has the perfect title because it was just about perfect fit for someone who enjoys a cute romance
I would say that the cover of this book doesn't adequately portray the depth of feeling in this story. There is a lot of angst, heartache and unresolved issues from these characters past that are wonderfully handled but are not the lighthearted feel that I expected from the pretty pink cover.
With that said, really really adored Will and Josie individually and together (there is an incredibly long slow burn here but it's so delicious!).
The description made me a little curious how these two characters intersected from the past but it won't take long for it to be spelled out. Josie and Zoe are best friends Senior year of high school and Will is Zoe's twin brother. We learn that there is a falling out between Josie and Zoe and it has devastating repercussions.
I couldn't read this book fast enough because the delicious chemistry was full of tension and want!
Check this one out!
I thought this was a sweet book about an overachiever and perfectionist reuniting with her former best friendโs brother. I enjoyed the fashion elements, but the focus on food was a highlight.
Perfect Fit is a second chance romance between Josie and Will. A lot of women will relate to the workplace issues, imposter syndrome, and the burden of social media. The characters show a ton of growth by the end of the book. I absolutely love the relationship between Josie and Camila - such a great friendship! The work trip scenes were all great. No 3rd quarter breakup - no major miscommunication. The ending!
Thank you to St. Martinโs Press and NetGalley for the ARC.
This is the first book I read by this author and it will not be my last. This was a quick read that had me hooked early on!
I really enjoyed Perfect Fit. Josie, the heroine, was likable and relatable. And the hero, Will Grant, made me swoon! A great love story that made me feel a bit of nostalgia for my late-20s. Would definitely recommend this book and I look forward to reading more by Clare Gilmore.
Perfect Fit by Clare Gilmore is an absolute gem of a rom-com that hits all the right notes. This story is an enchanting blend of hilarity and heart, perfect for anyone who's ever wondered if they can have it all.
Meet Josephine Davis, a powerhouse CEO whoโs poured her twenties into building her fashion brand, Revenant. Just when she thinks she has everything under control, she's thrown a curveball in the form of Will Grant โ the twin brother of her estranged best friend and the guy she shared one unforgettable kiss with nine years ago. Theyโve never been friends; she remembers him as moody, and he thought she was shallow. But as they work together, sparks fly in ways neither anticipated.
Gilmoreโs writing is a delightful mix of witty banter and emotional moments. The chemistry between Josie and Will is undeniable, making their journey from reluctant partners to something much more compelling and relatable. Many of us can relate to Josieโs struggle to balance her booming career with her blossoming feelings for Will.
If youโre in the mood for a rom-com thatโs funny and touching, Perfect Fit is your perfect match. I highly recommend curling up with this one โ you won't be disappointed! Thank you, NetGalley and St Martins Press, for this arc in exchange for an honest review!
The story and plot had such a good concept but, in my opinion, could have been executed a little better. What kept me reading and pushing to the end were the characters being so relatable and enjoyable. To be fair I am not really into the miscommunication trope so take my thoughts with the tiniest grain of salt!
This second chance romance was a little too slow burn for me. I also felt they retold the circumstances around their initial connection too many times so it became repetitive. I did like how supportive Will was and that Josie was a strong, independent FMC.
Itโs been nearly a decade since Josephine Davis kissed her best friendโs brother, Will Davis, effectively ruining her friendship with his sister Zoe. Since then, sheโs dedicated herself to launching her own clothing brand, Revenant. When Will comes crashing back into her lifeโliterallyโJosie must reconsider whether the brand should always come first, or if sometimes, she gets to prioritize herself.
I loved the pacing of this storyโwhile Josieโs attraction for Will was always simmering at the surface, the two of them did not dive right into a relationship. Clare Gilmore gave them time to build a friendship, a foundation for their relationship; this felt very true to their characters, given that last time, when they moved immediately into a physical relationship, it had devastating consequences. Josieโs struggles with social media and burnout also felt very real, and it made her an extremely relatable character. Yes, she was a twenty-something CEO, but even she had a hard time believing that, and Gilmore navigated her imposter system so delicately. Will had his own dreams and motives, which proved to be essential in establishing that he wasnโt just following Josie wherever, wheneverโhe was making major decisions for himself, too. I did find the premise for the end of Josie and Zoeโs friendship to be a bit unrealisticโI could see it leading to a massive fight, but it felt unlikely that neither of them would have reached out after all that time. I also found the epilogue to be a little unsatisfying, mainly the cliffhanger at the end. While the story was about Josieโs growth, and therefore her answer to the question on the final page didnโt matter, I really wanted a concrete answer to what the future held for her. With that said, I enjoyed watching the relationship between Josie and Will unfold, and I would absolutely recommend this book to romance lovers, especially those who enjoy the second-chance trope.
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martinโs Press for granting me access to this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I love that there was no third-act breakup in this story. The characters were very natural and their love story was sweet and believable. All they had to overcome were some personal issues from the past. I was very excited for them to get together and I'm glad that their relationship didn't happen too soon.
Second chance romance books are my biggest weakness, making this book the ultimate comfort read for me. I truly enjoyed the deeper topics discussed, adding such rich complexity to the story. Will has quickly become my newest book boyfriend, and I fear my heart may never be the same. His love and care for Josie in all the ways she needs is simply beautiful. This was such a sweet and heartfelt read!
The characters are wonderfully relatable. The authorโs vivid descriptions and engaging dialogue make it easy to get lost in the story. This novel is a delightful read that leaves you with a warm, fuzzy feeling and a renewed belief in the power of love. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a feel-good romance!
Not only will I almost always love a book thatโs set in Austin (and mentioning a couple of my favorite spots and restaurants!!), the second chance love!! The love and need for female best friends!! The understanding of burnout and imposter syndrome!! This story has it all. Not only does it have you rooting for the protagonists, Will and Josie, but it has you rooting for them individually, because the understanding isnโt that they complete each other but they support and build each other up, alongside with their network of community. I havenโt been so enraptured for a while to stay up till 4am to read such an amazing little romcom, and Iโm so glad I did for this one.

This book was so good. It had the feel of an early 2000โs romcom, relatable characters, and emotional depth. I honestly loved it from the first page.
Josie was a strong and independent FMC. I love that she was her own person and that Will fully supported her in that. Both main characters were kind and successful in their own ways and they truly made one another better. The character development (both individual and relationship growth) was top notch. Clare Gilmore did a great job creating tension and conflict without adding in an unnecessary third-act breakup. There was still a lot of miscommunication, but it really was mostly between side characters.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press/St. Martin's Griffin for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This book was everything that I needed right now. I was giggling and rooting for these characters every step of the way. It made me feel all of the emotions and I just love Claire Gilmoreโs writing so much!!
My biggest critique is that I wanted more! Will and Josie are so special and I loved reading their story. The pining was next level and the hotel make out session was hot! The subplots were interesting and I read this book super quick!
I canโt wait to see what is next for Clare Gilmore! ๐ซถ
Thank you St martinโs press and Netgalley for the digital ARC!! Would absolutely Reccomend! Mark Your Calendars!!!
October 29th is Release day!
Finished earlier so havenโt fully decided on a Star Rating but inbetween 3.5/4 Stars!
Overall I enjoyed this book, I will end up recommending the author and Novel once itโs released. Will most likely add a Staff Pick Sticker on it once itโs released because i did enjoy it and it was super cutie!! I think Will the MMC was adorable and my favourite person ever, he communicated and let her be herself without her CEO title Emasculating him, He was strong and he loved her to pieces for the last decade. Josie was a great FMC and she had a backbone which is suprising cuz a lot of FMCโs donโt. The Setting was always perfect, their sick scenes were so heartwarming and the friendships in the whole story were *chefs kiss*.
I loved the Strong FMC Josie, She was cute and had a backbone and didnโt just run away from her Life as soon as a man stepped into it.
I loved Will, He was on his knees with how much he loved her, He stood up anytime she walked into a room, like sir!!! He Helped her, filled her fridge, stayed with her while she course work. Just was a perfect man!
What i didnโt really like, was the constant references to Pop culture, Personally i think it was overdone and it ages the book. There was mentions of Strava, S1 of TSITP, Barbie movie, Olivia Rodrigoโs Sour Album, Etc. Iโm not a fan of it, seemed like it was done too often, and just isnโt for me, maybe others will go oh i love that, etc. But i didnโt enjoy those moments.
