I've read quite a few chef memoirs, and this one suffers from some of the same features--I wonder if becoming a chef requires certain personality traits?
I enjoyed the parts where he details how he became a chef and worked his way up in the culinary world. What I didn't enjoy was his pretentious personality and thinking he was above it all, even when his restaurant failed. That seems to be a common thread among chefs, thinking they are so good and then crashing and burning.
Otherwise, it's an interesting read.
