This was a cute book about going to bed, but it seemingly ends abruptly, It has a good premise, but the execution is lacking.
This is such a cute but informative book. It is the story of 2 children who have a dinosaur who does not want to go to sleep. They come up with a routine for him and hope it helps. This reinforces bedtime routines for little ones. The book is colorful and fun and sure to delight children. Would be a great bedtime story.
A cute picture book on putting an dinosaur to bed. I kind of want to add it to my collection .But then I loved the Dinosaurs as a kid. But kids and parents alike will like this one.
I read this book with my niece and nephews, and they thought it was great. They are big fans of dinosaurs, so it didn’t disappoint. The illustrations were excellent and added to the portrayal of the story.

This book was incredibly well written and there’s no doubt a younger reader will absolutely love the storytelling and illustrations. This was honestly the perfect bedtime story and I loved the little take on dinosaurs. I’m certain a kid would absolutely love this story and would appreciate it added to their nighttime routine.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with access to read this book!
This cute story follows a dinosaur’s bedtime routine, which looks quite similar to that of a young child. I appreciated the fun facts about dinosaurs and the list for the routine, but wish the book was just a bit longer. I also enjoyed the colorful illustrations.
Thank you NetGalley and Familius for this advanced copy. All opinions are my own.
Thank you to Familus publishing and Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book for my students. I thought this was, okay??? I think it's a nice short story to talk about going to bed and had cute art but other than that... its take or leave it for me personally. Because of these points, I have to give it a 2.5 out of 5 stars.
This 'send-'em-to-sleep' book is a board book apparently addressing the parents, about how awkward it is for them to live with a tormenting stay-awake dinosaur, and reminding them of the virtues of a solid nightly routine. It is of course doing a switch, being a board book addressing the typical board book audience, in the hope it – the audience – reads the advice to their elders and twigs what they should be doing to help. The problem is if they won't be told they won't be told, and I can see just as many instances of this not working as I can imagine of when it hits home. For that reason, it's a three star effort only, and has to be thought of as a borrow and not a purchase.
This was such a fun bedtime read! My toddler and 8 year old loved it as they love most silly books. This is sure to bring much laughter just before bed for many homes!

I had fun reading this book. We see two kids enjoying living with a dinosaur, until bedtime arrives that is. At first they have a tough time getting them to sleep. Soon they come up with a plan and it seems to work perfectly. Most kids will have a great time reading this book.

Thank you to NetGalley for my advance reader copy in exchange for review.
My nephew has loved dinosaurs for as long as I can remember and so consequently my niece does now, too! Any time I see a book about dinosaurs, it peaks my interest. I read this one to them over Easter and they enjoyed it. A cute tale about a dinosaur that will not go to sleep! What's to do? Routine is very important for this dinosaur and the children learn how to keep their Dino buddy on track so he can sleep all night long. There may even be a promise of pancakes in the morning if he can obey!
Kiddos get to see the difficulty of getting someone to stay in bed and the importance of a good routine!
Regardless, a cute and colorful board book suitable for any kids needing more of a routine or just a dino lover.

How to Put a Dinosaur to Bed is a sweet and likable little tale about getting ready for bed. This story is a fantastic method to teach kids how to prepare for bed by using a "dinosaur" as the charming and fun figure. Kids will love this book because they will feel like they are accomplishing acts such as brushing teeth and bathing before bed "like the dinosaur does in the book".
I would definitely buy and read this book for any young child especially if they have a hesitancy about going to bed/sleep at night.
Thank you Alycia Pace, Familius Books and NetGalley for the advanced reader's copy.
Super cute board book for bedtime. Your little ones will love the illustrations and the very quick read. Perfect for the preschool and under aged kiddos.

I thought this book was so cute! The drawings were very nice and the colors were done beautifully.
The length was perfect for a story like this, the premise was clear and there was a subtle yet valuable message that was present throughout the whole book.
The only things I would edit are the ending and the dinosaur fun facts. The ending felt a bit abrupt, but not the worst. The dinosaur fun facts only appeared on one page, and I would have liked to see them on more pages because I thought it added to the book and it helps get kids interested in unique topics that they may grow to really enjoy.
It seems to focus most on the nighttime routine, and not so much on the issue of staying up all night, and the importance of sleep, for us it would have been nice to talk a bit more about that. I think this book is perfect for those, who don’t have a routine, but would like to implement one.
I loved the illustrations, with lots of details.
This book is cute, age appropriate, and fun!
Pros:
- Amazing, eye-catching illustrations
- Illustration attention to detail is incredible
- Story line that is relatable for parents and understandable for children
- Helps children understand the importance of sleep and a night time routine
Suggestions for improvement:
- It would be nice to have a discussion guide at the end for parents. Something that might have questions parents can ask their kids following the book. Such as "What would be a good night time routine for us to follow?" or "What do you think we should do before bed each night?"
My toddler loved this book, and wanted to read it again and again. He loves dinosaurs.
This was such a cute book. My toddler was excited to see the dinosaur going through the same bedtime routine as he does.
We loved this book, and would purchase this series.
We volunteered to read a copy of this ARC through NetGalley.
This story is alright. The pictures are sweet and the dinosaur is adorable. It does help to walk kids through a bedtime routine and could be a good before bed story.
The ending feels slightly abrupt and my kids were looking for the end of the story.
