This story is alright. The pictures are sweet and the dinosaur is adorable. It does help to walk kids through a bedtime routine and could be a good before bed story.
The ending feels slightly abrupt and my kids were looking for the end of the story.

First off - I love the illustrations in this book. They are lovely illustrations for a children's book and I adore the sibling characters and the diverse representation that they bring to the story. The story itself is very cute for young kids. Walking through a bedtime routine with many activities that they'd recognize from their own bedtime routine, while including the dinosaur character to keep it fun and imaginary.

I did have a couple of critiques - with the formatting of the text - I wasn't sure why there needed to be red text as well as the black and white text. It seems like maybe limiting the number of colors of text might be something to consider. Also, there's one random dinosaur fact on the teeth brushing page that seemed out of place - both from the style of the text but also the fact itself. If there were more facts spread throughout the book it would make more sense. But one fact in the middle of an imaginary bedtime story felt a little disjointed.

Overall, I think this is a kids book that young kids (especially those that like dinosaurs) will enjoy. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC of this book to read and review.

How to Put a Dinosaur to Bed is an adorable children's book that goes through the bedtime routine of a triceratops. Two kids tell you how to make sure your dino goes to sleep and stays asleep. Of course, it's very similar to how we put our kiddos to bed so it would be an excellent pre-bedtime story. It is extremely short which makes it great for the youngest littles and the illustrations are vibrant and fun to look at as well.

Quick, cute book. Very similar to other “how to” books in the children’s book world. Illustrations were nice. This book would do well for a toddler.

This board book has really cute illustrations. It shows two kids trying to put their dinosaur to bed and dealing with its stalling tactics, just as parents do with little kids. This book's straightforward, underlying humor will appeal more to adults than to kids, but the illustrations will appeal to kids, especially dinosaur fans. I also love the dinosaur's little panda stuffed animal!

Cute children's book - perhaps a little short. It feels like part of the story is missing. I do love the illustrations and the few little facts squeezed in.

"How to Put a Dinosaur to Bed" by Alycia Pace is a children's picture board book for very young children. A brother and sister have a pet dinosaur, a Triceratops. He's a lot of fun, but taking care of him makes them very tired. They decide to use a routine.

First, they give him a bath, a bubble bath with a rubber duckie. Then they help him get on his most comfy pajamas. Next, they help him brush his many teeth. Then they read a bedtime story, kiss them goodnight, and tell them they will see them in the morning.

This story let's children imagine themselves in charge of bedtime. This might help them get to bed easier.

It's a very cute book that young children will probably really enjoy. Highly recommended!!

This one was really cute. I liked how sleepy the kids looked. A good perspective flip on putting kiddos to bed.

This is a beautiful picture book that will help you put your dinosaur to bed, and at the same time, give you information like how many teeth they have. Most importantly, the same routine applies to toddlers, so your children are going to get inculcated with good habits.

Only con: I wish this book was longer.

My little one loved this book, especially the illustrations and short sentences, it kept his attention. This book is perfect for little ones when you're trying to teach them a bedtime routine as it uses the dinosaur to help establish the importance of a routine.

Super cute! My kids are loving dinosaurs right now and this would be a great introduction for kids on routines - especially right before bed. We are already doing a routine where my boys know when it's bedtime and this book was a fantastic finishing touch. This book is so precious and the illustration is beautiful. Very short and easy for my kids to stay attention just long enough. This is a great book to gift to introduce routine for our family friends.

I love the sweet illustrations, easy to read/short sentences, and precious story. I love that it shows the kiddos how to have a routine and prepare for bedtime by way of their pet triceratops. My little guy happens to have a pet triceratops that he sleeps with. This will be a hit for the dino lovers in your life!

I loved the illustartions. As someone who has loved dinosaurs as a child (and still does haha) I would have loved to read this as a bedtime story. It was short and adorable.

It's a very cute read. I read it to my dino loving daughter, and she loved it. The illustrations are wonderful, full of color, and give you opportunities to talk about what you see. It's a great step by step routine for bedtime that children can easily understand and want to follow, just like the dinosaur.

Im unsure who exactly this book is for.. it seems mostly a book for the adults trying to put their children to sleep. Perhaps it can be used as a way to explain to the child why it needs to sleep - because mommy and daddy needs sleep too! It seemed a little too on the nose and surely there is a better way of handling this type of conversation with your child. This book really feels like it talks down to children. Children are smarter than this.. they can feel when they are condescended. I didn't like the book and can't recommend it.

This is such a cute book and a perfect bedtime story for kids. The art is well done, and my sons loved the dinosaur getting ready for bed just like they do.
