This lighthearted and quirky romance was a delightful introduction to a new-to-me author. Róisín is excited to finally get married when her boyfriend Nate proposed. She even wins an all expense paid dream wedding just in time to cover the cost, only to find out Nate doesn't really want to get married. Róisín is then left with a dream wedding but no groom. Her determination to have this wedding and find her true love within a year sets the stage for a series of comical and touching escapades. Her journey from heartbreak to hope takes a dramatic—and wildly entertaining—turn and we follow her on her heartwarming adventure filled with humor and laughs, and I couldn't help but cheer her on through it all.

The story is filled with colorful characters, witty dialogue, and laugh-out-loud moments, but it also has a heartfelt core. As Róisín searches for Mr. Right, she learns more about herself and what she truly values in life and love.

The story was absolutely charming and Róisín’s journey left me with a warm feeling and a smile on my face. Glad to have had the opportunity to read this!

I received a complimentary copy from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.

Roisin O Riley has finally after ten years been asked by her boyfriend to get married. She also finds out that she has won her dream wedding. Telling Nate and waiting for him to be excited, thrilled, smiling, fist pump, nothing she finds out that he never wants to be married. So she decides to go to the destination and work on finding love and a groom. This is a very good book I did not know how it was going to go but overall I did like the characters and the story.

I liked the look of this book, the cover was very appealing and I do like a wedding themed read. We meet Roisin O'Reilly who is planning her wedding after her boyfriend Nate proposes. She has her eye on Sylverley House as a venue to hold her wedding, and she enters a competition to win an all expenses paid dream wedding. However, just as she hears that she has won, Nate calls the wedding off and breaks up with her.

This was an enjoyable read and Roisin is a likeable character. You have to feel for her when Nate reveals he doesn't want to get married, and I loved the idea of her keeping the wedding and finding a new groom! There was lots of fun and laughs throughout the book and I did like the speed dating! The location sounds lovely and I liked the main characters in the book. However, it was a little slow in parts, but I did enjoy the ending!

Róisín O’Reilly is ecstatic. Nate, her boyfriend of the past ten years, has finally proposed. But he insists they need to save for five years before they can afford the swanky wedding she longs for.

Their problems are solved when Róisín enters a competition for an all-expenses-paid dream wedding at stunning Sylverley House – and to her astonishment she wins!

Then Nate drops a bombshell. He never wanted to get married.

There’s only one thing for it. Róisín breaks up with Nate and sets out to find the real love of her life. But she only has twelve months before her prize expires . . .

She has the stunning venue, the designer dress, the bridesmaids, the cake and the flowers.

Now she just needs to find Mr Right.

Really enjoyed the plot of the story. The characters were easy to relate to. Cannot wait to read more from the author. Will recommend to others.

Everyone wishes to be lucky enough to win a free, all expenses paid wedding at a beautiful property. This books premise is such a delight. ‘Róisín, enters to win a free wedding at a historical property that perfectly fits with her historical costume business. She unexpectedly wins, while also loosing the fiance and home. Instead of giving up the win, she has a year to find a new husband to be. This was so much fun. Her random speed dates, bad blind dates, and disastrous second dates were such a funny turn of events that I could not wait to see how she was going to her HEA and it did not disappoint.

This book was given to me by NetGalley, but all opinions and reviews are my own.

This book tells the story of Róisín, who dreams of a Regency-themed wedding with her fiancé. She wins the wedding of her dreams, only to find out that her fiancé won't marry her. Left with only one year to find a groom, Roisin embarks on a journey filled with challenges…

I enjoyed the book and became attached to the characters. I felt empathy for the main character as she navigated through her struggles, hopes, and deception. I would have loved to see more interaction between the main characters; I found myself craving more banter. Overall, it was a nice read that puts you in a good mood!

Thanks NetGalley and Joffe Books for an eARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you Net Galley for the chance to read this ARC. The Wedding Hitch is a rom-com about a sweet girl, Roisin, that has her heart set on having her dream wedding. When she realizes it is financially out of reach, she enters a contest to hopefully win it, and is actually chosen! When she tells her Fiancée, he admits he doesn't really want to marry her, so she has a year to find herself a new groom and still have her dream wedding. As she faces challenges in the dating world, certain parts of the story progressed so slowly, but at the end when she finally figures out who is the one, it feels so rushed. Overall, the banter was fun and the story did end perfectly. I will definitely read anything Claire McCauly writes in the future!

Roisin wants to get married. She's engaged, but no date has been set. She and her fiance, Nate, go to tour an estate that is going to be a new wedding venue when refurbishing is complete and enters a contest for a free all inclusive wedding.

When she finds out she won the wedding she excitedly tells her fiance. His reaction, I don't ever want to get married, I think we're just fine the way we are. Roisin packs her bags and moves out. Now she has no home, no work space, no fiance, and a wedding in 12 months. We get to go along as she looks for love and her groom.

Hilarious in parts, touching in parts, and totally a great read.

She caught his eye from the first moment they met, and he’s held stars for her ever since, but another held her’s.

Róisín had her dream wedding planned her whole life and after a trip to Sylverley, she deigned this was the place. She signed her and her fiancee up for a dream wedding give away, on whim with no expectations. One call announcing her the winner changes everything for Róisín… newly single, one year to find the one for her fairy tale wedding, But…. Has she already found him? 😉😉😉

An entertaining read! This book kept me guessing which way it was going to go. At times resembled a very curvy road. With that said the author created very interesting characters. Several standouts in the ensemble cast, Esme, Perky. I only had one thing that detracted from my enjoyment of this book. Naming a set of twins Hyssop and Borage is down right cruel!

I received an advance reader copy from the publisher. Any review is voluntary, honest.

Roísín O’Reilly is a fashion historian and costume designer who has just won the wedding of her dreams at the beautiful, recently restored Sylverley House. She just doesn’t have anyone to marry. Roísín accepts the prize regardless, hopeful that she can still find “the one” before the one-year deadline to claim her free wedding is up.

This book was a joy to read! It is a fairly predictable story, but the characters are loveable, the descriptions of Bath and of Sylverley itself are incredible (especially as seen through the eyes of a historian/designer) and the pacing is excellent.

This book is perfect for someone who is a fan of both contemporary romance and historical romance.

This is my first introduction to author Claire McCauley... and I am not disappointed. I enjoy books revolving around weddings... I find the narrative takes me away from the 'everyday,' and cajoles my mind and heart into a festive mode. After all, a happy, true-love-ending, is a beautiful thing!

This is a lovely romcom that delighted my senses. I became vested in Roisin's journey, and I was satisfied with the way the author wrapped it all up with a bow at the end, satisfying my expectations. (Oh! There is a surprise revelation that elevated the finality of the storyline. You've been happily warned!)

I really enjoyed the lovely descriptions of Bath, and the English countryside. The characters were well-rounded, and I'm excited to say you will meet a delightful little fairy-goddaughter that will make you smile.

I read this book late at night, (1:00am kinda late), and it helped me drift away to sleep with pleasant thoughts. I was eager to read more the next evening. In summation, I recommend this book for your own reading pleasure and thank Joffe Books, and Claire McCauley, for a copy of this eARC.

This is my honest review.

5/5

Thank you so much to Joffe Books and NetGalley for this ARC!

The Wedding Hitch is an hilarious romantic comedy, basically Róisín O’Reilly has recently gotten engaged to her long time boyfriend, Nate.

Róisín enters a competition to win the wedding of her dreams at her dream venue ( She is an history girl and is an historic costume designer!) all expenses paid except there’s one problem… Róisín is now single and she has no groom and has a year to find a man to marry.

Róisín goes back to Syverley borrowing her best friend’s clothes and accepts the prize on the arm of the general manager at Syverley - Tristan Nash - shortly after Róisín has to come clean and this leads Róisín to going onto a few tragic dates that are certainly embarrassing for her!

I really enjoyed this book and it was such a fun read! Esme, Róisín’s fairy goddaughter was adorable! And Bear? Bear stole the book in my opinion, a little cutie!!!

I loved the plot twist towards the end of the book with Tristan which was definitely my favourite part of the entire book either that or when Róisín is trying to find out when Tristan is coming back by explaining his costume which was hilarious, however I would have loved more chemistry between Róisín and Tristan I felt as if we didn’t really get to see much of a build up but nevertheless I enjoyed it and I am definitely recommending this to everyone I know ( I already have and told everyone the publish date!)

When Roisin wins the all-expenses-paid wedding of her dreams, she can’t believe her luck…until she finds out that her fiancé doesn’t actually want to get married. Since she has a year in which to claim the wedding, Roisin breaks up with him and goes in search of someone who would want to marry her. What follows is a series of dating misadventures, as she tries to find her future Mr. Right.

The premise of this book had a lot of potential, although Roisin is not all that easy to root for and much of what happens feels predictable or formulaic to fit the “madcap rom-com” stereotype. She does manage to devise a clever solution to her dilemma, and readers will be glad of the happy ending.

This was such a cute story. I enjoyed every second of it and couldn't put it down. I loved the twist at the end, I wasn't expecting it at all. And I loved the happy ending.

Thank you so much to the author for a chance to read this book early! It was so cute. This book is about a girl named Roisin (said "Rosheen") who is engaged and wins an all inclusive wedding to her dream venue, Sylverley House. She has to use it within one year, which shouldn't be a problem since she's already engaged, but then her fiance says he actually doesn't want to get married. She realizes their dreams and values are different so they break up and she's left with 11.5 months to find a groom! She gets a job designing period costumes for the staff. She also gets to live in a cottage on site since she lived with her ex-fiance. Tristan is the manager of Sylverley and they have a connection, but hes also really cagey in someways and theres a lot of lack of communication between the 2. This isnt a love triangle but both men do come and go from her life (the ex and Tristan). The book has just enough regency influence to scratch the itch for us non regency lovers, but not so much as to detract from the contemporary nature. The author said she wanted the regency vibes without the boring bits and I think she did great with that! I also loved the fact that this book doesn't take a completely predictable route. It is an HEA and "typical" romance, but it had an added element that I really liked. I also loved the emphasis on the MARRIAGE, not the WEDDING. I think thats something more young people need to think about. Overall, cute romance!

I really enjoyed this book and it kept me wanting to know more. I was on pins and needles when I thought Roisin was going to get back together with Nate but when she let him down I was rooting for Tristan to tell Roisin how he really felt. Thank you for allowing me to read and review this ARC.
