Snowy Mountain Christmas by Sharon Sala 4 stars
A small town holiday romance from Sharon Sala with a light religious undertone in keeping with the seasonal theme. A play on Cinderella, Trey Austin is in a car accident and is rescued by Hailey Beaumont. Hailey disappears when the first responders arrive and all that’s left is her shoe. Trey launches a internet search for his “Cinderella”. He finds his “Cinderella” to be an independent B&B owner with plenty of sass to go around. Love ensues and while there are obstacles (including the obligatory villain) a happy ending is a given. I enjoyed this novel, it was a quick read once I sat down with a cup of hot cocoa.
Thank you Netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for this ARC.
Marley didn't intend to be a hero. But, when she came across a car accident while traveling through the mountains, she felt she had to stop. With no other help nearby, it was up to her to help the driver.
Trey Austin woke in the hospital with only a vague memory of his accident and the voice of his rescuer echoing through his mind. He has no idea who she is. She left the scene while the first responders were concentrating on his injuries. The only clue to her identity - one muddy, red shoe she lost in the mud at the scene of the accident.
In an attempt to find his missing savior, he posts a letter to social media in the hopes his Cinderella might see it and identify herself.
Perfect for the season, this is a story of two people living a lonely life, but not really searching for more. Their first meeting is unconventional. Despite this, Trey feels a strong need to find the angel who saved him. I loved the emotion of the story, could feel the connection the first time Trey and Marley met in person. Add to that an undercurrent of suspense from an old acquaintance who won't accept Marley's lack of interest in a relationship and family drama in the guise of Trey's parents who never really took an interest in the child they bore. This was a sentimental story, full of sensitivity, compassion and holiday cheer.
What better time is there than Christmas to write about angels. This story is a great holiday read and has all the emotions that you look for in a Christmas story. It grabbed you right at the start and kept your interest all the way through. A great book to read on a snowy night during the holiday season.
*4.5 stars*
Wrap yourself in all that is good about humanity at Christmastime…
This author knows how to touch my heartstrings and Trey and Marley did just that. With a helping hand, Marley did the unbelievable and saved Trey’s life. The search for his rescuer led him to everything he hadn’t known he wanted. Or deserved…
With all the drama and emotion I craved, I loved the fairytale aspect and how it played out. Nothing like bringing a modern twist to it with family and relationships that are so easily relatable. This was such a great read, I curled up and didn’t stop until I read it all.
I remember a favourite movie quote where relationship that start in “intense situations” rarely last. Well, I think these two will make it…
I may have already reread their story (a few times lol). Who wouldn’t want more love and hope no matter the time of year…
Snowy Mountain Christmas by Sharon Sala ⭐⭐⭐⭐
A great holiday read with a twist. Social Media to the rescue when looking for someone. Will Trey find a way to save a damsel in distress.
This was a cute clean romance that takes place during the holidays. Trey is traveling down a backroad during a severe thunderstorm when he has a wreck. Marley is also traveling down the same road when she comes upon the wreck and saves his life. Once he is healed he starts a search for the unknown woman who saves his life. I don’t want to give away the rest of the book but there are several things that happen that could prevent their HEA.
Trey meets Hailey when she rescues him from a car accident, then he tracks her down thanks to social media. But someone is out to get her and can Trey save her this time? A great read, I like how it told from various points of view.
SNOWY MOUNTAIN CHRISTMAS has a very unique storyline. Trey puts a story out on social media about finding the woman who saved his life and soon he becomes known as The Cinderella Man. Sharon Sala digs deep into the lives of her characters and delivers an emotionally amazing read. She knows how to write about family drama, heartbreak, and forgiveness. I can not wait to read more by this wonderful and heart-tugging author. Knowing I have many of them to read brings me so much joy and happiness to know they are waiting for me! She has the most beautiful covers! Check them out!!

Trey Austin is driving through torrential rain; his car overturns and he is rescued by a woman. Marley Corbett was the woman who saved his life and left her shoe behind. Trey decides to go online to try to find Marley. Marley owns and runs a B&B in Colorado; Trey lives in Arizona. As soon as he locates her, he heads to her home. Marley has been remodeling the B&B and it's closes until the New Year.
As they spend time together Trey knows she is the one for him. Of course, the way to true love is not easy. Great love story.
I love reading easy, breezy Christmas romances. I love the magical, whirlwind romance that often exists within their pages. Snowy Mountain Christmas is one of those books. This was a fun read. I enjoyed the unexpected twists and drama moments in this story. This is definitely a light and fluffy read, but there are a few darker moments that I wasn’t expecting. I loved the fast pacing of this book. The relationship between Hailey and Trey moves fast, which is typical for a novella romance.
I enjoyed the overall story. It had everything I wanted:
An unforgettable meet-cute.
A snowy, isolated setting.
Sweet, swoony moments.
Even a bit of spice.
Some of the descriptions in this book made me give it a lower rating. There were times when the author would describe something or let us know a character was doing something, but she did so in a manner that was jarring. These moments didn’t fit with the flow of the story and sometimes felt unnecessary to the overall story.
All the characters were wonderful. Everyone played an important role in this book. Hailey and Trey were great main characters. They both have lived, and even though they weren’t older MCs, they both felt like old souls. I loved spending time with them and watching as their romance blossomed on the pages. Jack and Marley were such delightfully fun secondary characters. They charmed me from the moment they appeared on the page, and I just couldn’t get enough of their relationship. There was just the right amount of cheeky, spunky banter.
As I mentioned, this is an instant-love romance, and because this is a novella, the hurdles that Hailey and Trey have to overcome are minimal and are often solved fairly quickly. The romance between Hailey and Trey is textbook Hallmark-y charming with a small dash of spice. I enjoyed these two together. There was this fun sweetness to their love story.
Snowy Mountain Christmas is a heartwarming Hallmark holiday romance.
This was a lovely cozy Christmas romance. I was hooked in the first few pages. It's sweet heartfelt, entertaining and emotional. Wonderfully authentic characters you'll fall in love with. These two had a ton of chemistry and spark, I loved how their romance developed. A romance beautifully written and the bed and breakfast at wintertime served as the perfect backdrop. An amazing read!
The main characters met under the most extreme circumstances possible and even "met" is a strong word for how their worlds collided.
And that's probably why I felt the connection was too insta-love situation.
I'd say that I wasn't a huge fan of the lingering suspense, regarding a bad character, in this plotline but I guess there had to be some sort of conflict.
<i>Thank you Netgalley and publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.<i>
An amazing “anytime” story with strong characters who live their lives with courage and belief. Even though Marley Corbett lost her parents, she carries on the traditions of the Corbett Inn, first opened by her great-grandparents. On her way home, through a snow storm, she receives a message from her “angel” which causes her to take a detour. Her detour saved the life of Trey Austin who she rescued after his car accident. The only clue that he has about the woman who saved his life is the red shoe that was left behind in the mud. Trey begins his search for the Cinderella who saved his life which eventually leads him to Marley. He couldn’t wait to meet her and having never felt close to his absent parents is thrilled with the welcome he receives from Marley and her community. She is excited to meet the man she saved and awed by their immediate attraction. As she prepares to reopen the inn, Trey stays and soon becomes an integral part of her life. She has no idea that he is her favorite mystery author, Chapel Hill. How will she weather the media storm and the disruption to their lives when he announces his writing career? Loved everything about this story! I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)
Snowy Mountain Christmas by Sharon Sala is a close proximity Christmas holiday romantic book it's very cute it's very Christmassy it's very sentimental very Hallmark movie type of book it was a cute read it was a good time.
Sharon Sala is one of my favorite authors and her stories never fail to capture my attention from start to finish and this one is no exception. When Trey is rescued by a mysterious angel, the only clue he has to find her is a missing shoe. Hailey and Trey finally find each other, and the connection is there instantly. I love these characters and the way they come together. This is one Christmas story you won’t want to miss!
Snowy Mountain Christmas is bestselling author Sharon Sala’s latest novel, a Christmas-themed standalone romantic suspense. It utilizes a Cinderella trope and contains multiple references to angelic guidance.
Trey Austin is a bestselling mystery author who lives anonymously because he writes under the pseudonym Chapel Hill. While on a research trip in Arkansas, he gets caught in a storm and is involved in an accident. His vehicle lands upside down in a ditch and he is rendered unconscious. A small female passerby spots his vehicle and bravely rescues him, losing a red shoe in the mud. When emergency responders arrive, they dismiss her without even getting her name.
27-year-old Marley/Ladybug/Bug Corbett runs her family’s lodge outside Colorado Springs since her parents’ deaths four years earlier. Family friends Jack and Wanda Wallace help her out and have become surrogate parents. Marley loves cooking and spends two weeks in Arkansas collecting recipes while the lodge undergoes renovations. When she starts home during a torrential storm, she feels guidance from an angel to take a particular road and then sees a wrecked vehicle. She rescues a handsome unconscious man and then calls 911. After she returns home, she is sexually harassed by a former school classmate, Jared Beckett.
As Trey recovers at his home in Phoenix, he writes about his accident and the mysterious angelic rescuer. His posts on social media become viral and are then shared on the national news. Eventually he receives an email from Marley and decides to travel to Colorado to meet her in person. They get snowed in and quickly fall in love. However Marley is in danger from Jared, who wants to end her life because she rejected him. Trey has to reveal his alter ego and deal with emotional childhood trauma from neglectful parents.
Sharon Sala’s stories are based on her dreams, and her descriptive writing style makes it easy for the reader/listener to visualize the action. She consistently writes strong, engaging characters who readers would want to know in real life. Her characters may have had some bad luck, but they are courageous and hardworking. Snowy Mountain Christmas is not only about romantic love; it also shows how families can be created by love between friends. The reader feels the love between Marley and the Wallaces, and Trey and his agent, Meredith Bernstein. In all of this author’s books, the villains get what they deserve. Snowy Mountain Christmas contains a sweet Christmas romance between unforgettable characters. I couldn’t put this story down; it deserves more than 5 stars!
I received an advance review copy (ARC) of the ebook from NetGalley and SourceBooks-Casablanca for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This was a cute wholesome story, but I didn’t care for the writing style. The POV would switch but the author would still be thinking as both characters. I found the female main character to be very cheesy.
I enjoyed reading Snowy Mountain Christmas by Sharon Sala. You will fall in love with all the characters. I received an ARC of this book courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely. Happy Reading!
Snowy Mountain Christmas by Sharon Sala is a sweet, heartwarming, inspiring, beautiful and sweet romance that grabbed me on page one and didn’t let go until I turned the last page.
Trey Austin was driving through a torrential rain storm on a country road when lightning flashes, nearly hitting the car, while trying to avoid the strike, he ends up flipping the car and falling into a ditch where the water is rising rapidly. Marley Corbett was on a trip to the Ozark hills of Arkansas, while the B&B she owns in Colorado is being remodeled, when her Angels told her to take a different road. Marley has learned never to question these voices and this time she was in time to rescue a man who had been in an auto accident. Trey had no idea what had happened, but the voice of an Angel told him he was going to be okay, and that help was on the way. While in the hospital, he learns that she left before anyone got her name, leaving behind a single red shoe. Trey goes public, pleading with anyone that might have information on who his savior was; creating a nationwide search for his Cinderella.
Marley was so busy reopening her Colorado lodge after renovations that she wasn't paying attention to the internet, television or the news. When she finally sees the story and contacts Trey, he drops everything to head to Colorado and his Angel. The attraction is instant and when they get snowed in, the seeds of true love are planted and grow. Unfortunately not everyone is happy that these two loners are getting together which leads to a climactic ending that had me cheering for strong women everywhere.
Ms. Sala wrote another wonderful story with strong characters, quirky supporting characters, and a story that gave me all the feels. There is a spiritual twist with Marley and her angels which makes it all the more Christmassy. It is a sweet romance that is soft on spiciness, but with a bit of suspense, and action which I highly recommend for those looking for a quick and sweet romance; especially one with a little holiday spirit.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Snowy Mountain Christmas by Sharon Sala
Contemporary holiday romance.
Trey Austin is driving through a torrential rain storm on a country road when lightning flashes, nearly hitting the car. Avoiding the strike, he ends up flipping the car and falling into a ditch where the water is rising rapidly. He’s saved by a woman that cuts him from his seat belt and is somehow able to drag him out of the car and ditch to higher ground where she’s able to call for help. Trey doesn’t get her name at the time, but he’s given one of her shoes that she lost in his rescue. Trey goes public, pleading with anyone that might have information on who his savior was.
Hailey Beaumont owns a bed and breakfast in Colorado that is being remodeled and updated before opening again. She reaches out to Trey when she sees his messages to confirm it was her on the side of the road and he immediately travels to the inn to meet her. There is a snowstorm on the way and Trey arrives in time to spend the holiday with Hailey where they fall in love.
🎧 I alternated between an ebook and an audiobook which is narrated by Tyler Darby. The performance is easy to listen to and engaging at the same time. The tension of an emergency is heard and felt as well as the joy of spending the holiday season with loved ones. There were specific voices for Trey and Hailey as well as the handyman neighbor and others. The holiday warmth comes through clearly making the audiobook my preferred method of reading for this story.
I did speed up the playback to 1.5 which more closely matches my reading and conversation speed.
Slightly spiritual in that she hears the voices of angels.
Warm and comforting holiday story. He’s a loner but with her, he feels complete. A beautiful and sweet romance.
I received a copy of this from NetGalley. This author is an auto buy for me.
