Evelyn is planning on going backpacking, the sooner the better, to be away from her mum, Alice.

Cecilia is moving to Paris from a tiny village in France, with her best friend. Her mum, Fern, is going to miss her and can’t wait to go to Paris to visit her.

When Evelyn meets Cecilia, they soon become great friends. Evelyn puts her backpacking on hold to move in with the girls and spend time with them.

The girls decide it’s time to have their mum’s come and visit, to put their minds at rest that they are doing okay … and that’s when things turn sour.

I hadn’t realised this was the fourth book in a series, not have I read the first three books!

This didn’t take away from my enjoyment of the book, as there was enough information in the story to give me a heads up on what had gone on prior to this book.

An excellent story, that was tense and dark. There were some twists along the way, and I was hooked on the tale being woven.

I am now going to be reading the first three books to catch up.

My thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for a copy in exchange for my honest review.

You can never go wrong picking up a Daniel Hurst thriller. I have read all of his books and they all have been so amazing. The characters are fascinating and the plots are unique. Doctors Child is a book in the Doctors Wife series. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to see what was in store for Fern who was running from authorities and living under an alias in France with her child and new husband. An encounter with someone from her past has Fern scrambling to make her world right again but the question is at what cost. It was a wild ride and I love how the book ended.

The Doctors child Is the 4th and the final book in the doctor’s wife series and what a wonderful series it has been.
It’s 18 years since the last instalment and both Fern and Alice has stayed away from each other. Both their children are now grown up and Cecilia now wants to fly the nest. They never had the loving relationship that other Mother and daughters have, and she feels stifled due to what her mother did. She wants a life of her own. But when both daughters of Fern and Alce accidentally meet in Paris and they both decide to live together. Both girls Cecilia and Evelyn decide that they want their mothers to meet. This event changes all their lives forever.
This is another gripping page turner from Mr Hurst. He does not disappoint. This has lots of twists and turns and a very satisfying conclusion to this fab series. 5 stars

Thank you NetGalley and Bookoutoure for allowing me to read the ARC of The Doctor's Child in exchange for my honest review.

This is the fourth book in The Doctor's Wife series and I'm sad to say the last, however it did wrap up nicely at the end. I loved the whole series and this book was even better than the last..

Told from the point of view of Fern and Alice, they are now joined by their 18-year-old daughters, Celilia and Evelyn. This book was hard to put down. There was twist after twist, making this a fast-paced psychological thriller that kept my attention the whole time. It could be read as a stand-alone but it is definitely worth it to read the whole series.

Another excellent book from this author. It wraps up the stories from The Doctors Wife, The Doctors Widow and The Doctors Mistress. As usual, an un put downable book.

A great addition to the Doctor's Wife series. If you haven't read this series I would recommend starting from the beginning BUT it has enough back story it could be read as a stand alone...just not ideal. It has tons of twists and turns and the ending was terrific. Daniel Hurst is a master at writing psychological thrillers and you won't be disappointed. I highly recommend this one!!

Thank you to Netgalley, Bookouture, and Daniel Hurst for this eARC.

A fitting finale in The Doctor's series of 4 books by the very talented Daniel Hurst. We last saw Fern and Alice on a cliff edge with their young daughters. Now, 18 years old both girls Cecilia and Evelyn are making their own way in the world. Cecilia is oblivious to her mothers past while Evelyn is resentful to Alice who she blames for Fern's behaviour. But the past and present collide in this fast paced novel.
I've loved this entire series, each book could be read as a standalone but then you'd be missing out on the manipulation and cunningness of Fern, a wonderful character who you love to hate.

A murderer, but still a mother, secrets and revenge.

This is the fourth book in a series. The backstory was explained well, so it *could* be a stand alone, but I would start the first book in the series. I did not read the other books, therefore the connection to the characters was lost to me.

There were not that many twists in this one, but was still a decently fast paced psychological thriller.

Thank you NetGalley for the early copy in exchange for my opinion.

Such an awesome thriller! There were so many twists and turns, and it kept my attention the whole time. Definitely pick this one up!

I read all the Doctor's books and I thought this one to be a good conclusion to the series. It is less fast paced to the precedent ones, but we get more insight into all the lives of the Doctor's wife and daughter and Mistress and daughter and it comes to a satisfying conclusion in my view. Thank you NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book! #TheDoctorsChild #NetGalley

The Doctor’s Child by Daniel Hurst is the fourth book in the Doctor’s Wife series. I really love this series! The fourth book was just as good as the other 3. It was full of twists throughout the book and love how everything wrapped up nicely at the end. I highly recommend this whole series. You could read it as a stand-alone, but I really think starting with book one is better. Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for this advanced copy! I really enjoyed it!

I have had such a soft spot for the Doctor's Wife series - i've enjoyed each one, and just when I think we won't get more, we do and Daniel Hurst just nails it.

I thought this was such a great way to wrap up the series, provide some closure (in many different ways), and allow us to revisit those characters years later. Fast paced, well written, a few twists and turns and a very enjoyable read. It's so satisfying when a series is done so well like this, and feels thought out rather than putting out sequels "just because".

The Doctor's Child could be read as a standalone but I highly recommend working your way through for the full journey. Really enjoyed and can't wait for more Daniel Hurst.

Daniel Hurst is among my favorite psychological thriller authors. I have read all the 3 other books of the series and didn't love this one as much as the others. But again, this one also was a quick read and it kept me hooked till the end.

There are certain authors that I can barely even string a review together for now, because their brilliance needs little more than to say, Daniel Hurst nailed it again! Of course, he did.

Ok, let’s talk about it…

When The Doctor’s Wife came out, I devoured it. I could go for another, but I was content.
When The Doctor’s Widow came out, I devoured it. I could go for another, but I was content.
When The Doctor’s Mistress came out, I devoured it. I could go for another, but I was content.

And then he flippin’ throws The Doctor’s Child out there. Started it late last night, finished it today. Devoured it.

I love reading Daniel Hurst’s books. There is more to it than just being a great writer, his books are written with enjoyment and passion. I feel like that’s his, not so secret, ingredient!

A quick, fast paced physiological thriller. The last book in the doctors wife series

I have not read the series and as a standalone it works great. I feel could have gotten more out of the book if id read the series first. I might have been less confused about the cover possibly if I had since I thought it would be about a little girl because of the shoes.

Thank you to the author and publisher for this twisty pre-released copy from NetGalley.

love all of Daniel Hurst's books, but I especially love the Doctor's series. This one has been the best yet, wrapping up the story of Fern. He recalls the previous stories without repeating and dragging out the story. Well done!

A great ending to the Doctor's Wife series. Catching up with Alice and Fern since their last meeting, we see the girls are 18 and are ready to fly the nest. With new adventures on the horizon the girls find themselves in a peculiar situation. After all this time, will Alice and Fern come face to face again? How will things play out of they do? Tiwts I didn't expect with a satisfying ending.

Thank you to Netgalley, Bookouture, and Daniel Hurst for this eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Although The Doctor's Child is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone, since the author provides context of previous events till the present.

It seems like Fern has really outsmarted the police when she ends up living in a little village in France for years and happily married to a doctor (again!). Will she ever learn? Yet it seems like she has finally found her happily ever after. Her daughter is now 18 years old and wants to leave the nest to explore the world. Fern's biggest fear is that when her daughter, Cecilia leaves home and discovers who her mother really is, that she'd turn against her.

Meanwhile in another small village Alice's daughter also decides to leave the nest to explore the world. Alice hopes that somehow her relationship with her daughter, Evelyn will be healed and restored after the many challenges that Evelyn had growing up without a father.

What will happen when Cecilia and Evelyn's worlds collide? Will Fern's closely guarded secrets still be intact? Fern is a smart woman, but will she finally be outsmarted? A psychological thriller that will keep you at the edge of your seat till the very end. Brilliant psychological thriller by Daniel Hurst. Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.

The way Fern makes me root for her is insane! How am I rooting for the “Villian” in the story? But what can I say I love her lol

Those darn 18 yr old girls made me so mad because of how they handled everything.

So sad that this is the last book because where can it go from here? I will miss Fern

This one definitely have you turning the page so fast just wanting to know what is next.

I really recommend this series! The first three books i listened to and it was perfection the audio for those is immaculate. I hope 🤞🏼 I can get a audio of this one too
