I absolutely loved this book! What an amazing concept to borrow a bookshop! I would LOVE to do this!
Love Letters at the Borrow a Bookshop was #4 of a series and although I hadn't read the previous ones (this was an ARC), I was able to follow along with the characters and the storyline. Austen was new to the series as she came to this quiet little town to get a fresh start even if it is a temporary stay. What she finds instead is everything she has been looking for. I highly recommend it and look forward to reading the rest of the series.
Thank you Netgalley and Hera for the ARC. Kiley Dunbar - I love your story telling and can't wait to catch up on all the rest and any future books you have coming out! Highly recommend!
This book is part of series that I didn't realize when I started it, but I didn't feel like anything was missing. I am going to go back and pick up the rest of the series.
This cute bookshop book is all about second chances and romance. It felt a little slow in places, but the quaint town grew on me toward the end of the book.
This book was gripping and hard to put down. It didn't feel like everything else you see out there, it felt very fresh. I really enjoyed this book!
Thanks to netgalley for the chance to read this book.
Another good read about the borrow a bookshop.
I very much looked forward to reading this book as each bookshop book has whisked me away to a beautiful place where books, comfort and love are paramount. This was no different. The way that the stories of each resident both new and old are entwined and problems resolved neatly but with a sense that there is more to tell, making the characters seem so real. The book tells several love stories and it is refreshing to see a diverse range of couples.
This series has been such a joy to read. It brings me so much comfort reading about this heartwarming community, catching up with familiar characters and meeting new ones. The beautiful setting. The love and angst are perfectly matched, the friendships are true and supportive, the real life struggles and character growth all draw you into this charming story. It’s a place I would want to live! looking forward to reading more of this series.
An absolutely precious read! This book capitvated me from the very beginning and it was just a sweet romance. This book sucked me in from the very beginning and captivated me. The author wove together the story and made you feel like you were actually there. Would love to read more from her!
Heat Factor: It’s a closed door–there’s only one scene and it’s referred to in the past tense.
Character Chemistry: There are two couples in this–in both cases they’re very different people who help each other awaken.
Plot: There’s a local bookshop in an English seaside town, where lucky winners are given the opportunity to run it, all on their own, for two weeks (and then they learn about themselves).
Overall: This book was really sweet–it’s definitely smut adjacent though
In this meandering story, Austen is on the tail end of an embarrassing entanglement with her ex-boss when she wins a lottery and takes temporary ownership of a local bookstore in a small seaside town in Devon.
While there, she ends up making friends with a Parisian bookseller on Instagram and starting up an immediate and close friendship. Simultaneously, she meets Patti, who moved to the small town to be closer to her sister and niece. Austen ends up having to sort through her baggage from her ex boss, figure out if her Parisian relationship is real, and decide if she’s brave enough to seek out a healthy relationship with Patti.
Meanwhile, there’s ANOTHER relationship brewing between Jasper, the son of a famous socialite, and Sam, the daughter of the local laundress. While they’re immediately drawn to each other, they’re also very different and it takes a lot of open-hearted conversations for them to get there with one another.
Honestly, I was in a SUPER frantic, stressed headspace this week and this book was so relaxing and contemplative that it felt a bit slow but I do have to say it was sweet. Also, this may have been answered in other books in this series (although I don’t think you NEED to read any of the others to enjoy this book), but even after finishing the book I don’t understand why someone would want to run a bookstore for no pay for two weeks? It’s such a short amount of time to learn all the point of sale and processes and I get that it’s supposed to be like a retreat but there was never really an explanation of why that would be appealing? Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE bookstores and I would absolutely love to own a quaint little bookstore myself, but I feel like the two week window kind of defeats the purpose. A year might make more sense? I think I just didn’t quite catch what the purpose of the two weeks of total responsibility was.
Honestly, due to the two simultaneous romances and the way the plot unfolded, I think this is better suited to women’s fiction. It’s absolutely a sweet, romantic story but it’s more about the setting than the relationship. I can say that if you’re on vacation and you’re interested in something you could buddy read with your mom or grandma, this would be great.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. We disclose this in accordance with 16 CFR §255.

Great read from an author who is new to me, definitely want to read more, brilliant storyline that draws you in and fab characters who you feel a connection to
Um, no. This book was not enjoyable. The characters were pushed too hard, So many things that just didn't flow well.
A brilliant read and one I really enjoyed. The characters are loveable. The plot is one that is engaging and I found myself completely drawn into the story and enjoyed the writing style.
This is the 4th in the series of Borrow-a Bookshop stories and having read the previous three I was delighted to receive an early copy in exchange for an honest review. Thanks to Net Galley and the publisher.
It’s like coming home as the bookshop, the seaside village where it’s located and many of the characters remain the same. The main change is the person who has come on holiday to run the bookshop. In theory all the books can be read as stand-alone, but I feel that the original characters are not as developed in the later books. It’s still a great summer read however.
Love this series of stories, it’s just everything you could dream of as an avid reader, bookshop, romance, drama, this is definitely why I keep coming back book after book, kiley is one of my goto authors so you’re in good hands
This was a cute story! I love the premise! A small town in England called Clove Lore has a borrow-a-bookshop, where people apply to be the bookseller for a two-week holiday. The wait list is long, which I imagine it would be - so two years after applying to be the borrower, Austen Archer's opportunity arises.
Archer falls in love with the bookshop immediately and is surprised by the traffic generated by bus tours stopping in town. Soon, she begins to make friends, including a long-distance online friend, a bookseller in Paris named Delphine. As Archer gets aquainted with the town, she also meets a lovely woman named Patti, who has recently moved to town and is living with her sister and niece.
I don't want to spoil anything but there are actually several love stories in this book and I just found out it's actually the fourth book in the series, however I had no issues reading this as a standalone novel. I am glad to know that I can go back to Clove Lore and read about more love matches in town.
This was a fun read and I would recommend to anyone looking for a sweet seaside romance.
Cute overall read... The author is nice and the concept of it is also very nice. Who doesn't like a bookish book?
We are once again swept away on a delightful journey to Clove Lore, Devon, where Austen Archer finds solace in her dream job as the new 'borrower' at Borrow-A-Bookshop. Despite her love for poetry, Austen struggles to find her own words after a devastating setback with her former boss, bestselling author Callista Flyte. As she immerses herself in the cozy world of the bookshop and engages in flirtatious online exchanges with an anonymous Parisian bookseller, Austen remains oblivious to the growing feelings of wedding planner Patti. But as their connection deepens against the backdrop of Clove Lore's enchanting wildflower meadow, Austen must confront her fears and find the courage to embrace love and rediscover her passion for writing. With its charming setting and heartwarming romance, this is a tale of healing, second chances, and the transformative power of love.
I love this series. Love, love, love. I also would LOVE to run a bookshop for 2 weeks. I think it would be absolutely delightful. Austen and Patti do not disappoint - I love the cozy vibes of this book, and hope this continues - let's see more and more couples!
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley!
The fourth book in one of the loveliest series, and as always, a wonderful return to Clover Lore.
If you are new to the series you’ve missed some great stories, but essentially each story tells the tale of another “borrower” of the seaside towns bookshop. A working holiday for book lovers – heaven if you ask me.
This time we have Austen and Patti's story which I thoroughly enjoyed. As the book progresses we see characters grow, face up to their worries or historic problems and to some degree heal a little. I love that the community comes together in each book, providing fun little moments.
The books are light-hearted and leave you feeling positive and happy. Whilst they can be read as a stand alone I would highly recommend reading the other books.
I look forward to the next visit to Clover Lore.
This is delightful and cozy, a reader's dream. I was interested from the very first page, and absolutely love how dynamic the characters are.
This cozy read will leave you feeling just so warm and cozy. Who wouldn't want to borrow a bookshop? The unique blend of characters will leave you wanting more. I will likely continue to read others in this series.
