It's always fabulous to be back in Clove Lore and at the Borrow-a-Bookshop, and I really enjoyed getting to know the latest borrower - Austen.

She is really unsure of herself at the start, and seems prone to messing up her personal life. She strikes up a friendship with an online bookseller, while not completely trusting the signs that are under her nose from someone in the village.

I really enjoyed Austen's ideas for the children's story time, and hearing about her past life as author's assistant.

And she's a poet too which made a bit of a change.

At the same time there are new people that have moved into the Big House, and once you get to know them, and some bad news is revealed, they start to become part of life in Clove Lore too, with Jasper having his eye on one of the locals we have seen a bit in previous books but really get to know this time.

I also loved just about any scene with Radia in it too. And the local matchmaker may have finally retired her betting book too! So change is afoot slightly in the village.

It was a joy to be back in this community and I was left with another smile on my face, especially after a hint in the back matter that there would be another book next year in this series! I can't wait!

Well, if you've read my reviews, you already know I love Kiley Dunbar, and visiting one of her favourite made-up places, Clove Lore, again is a joy.
The Borrow a Bookshop series has become one of my favourites. I mean, which self-respecting book lover would turn their nose at a holiday where you get to pretend you own a bookshop (and run a lovely little cafe) and surround yourself with the smell of books for two weeks?
So, what fun to hear that there was a fourth installment! I couldn't wait to catch up with old characters and meet the new temporary owner(s).
This time, we meet Austen. Once bitten, twice shy, Austen is a character who riddles with self-doubt. This holiday was booked for her and another, who, given certain circumstances, was no longer coming. Still, books and words are Austen's lifeblood, so this break was not one for cancelling.
Through her trip, a change occurs as she gains her confidence, and then she finds herself in a bit of a confusing situation regarding admirers from two very different places. Both have their place in helping her find herself once more, but where things end was always the route I had hoped for.
We were given a treat in that there was not one but two blossoming romances this time, and both storylines kept me turning the pages on my Kindle as fast as I could. Another new character, a new resident of Clove Lore, and one of the villagers have a hate-to-love situation that is great to read.
Honestly, another favourite of mine, and I cannot wait to read the next one... (April 2025 needs to hurry up!)

this is the third borrow a book shop book in the series.
This one is just as good as the previous two books.
Austen is the main charecter in this book and is the one on her borrow a bookshop holiday.
The town of clove lore as ever is freindly towards the borrow a book shop holiday makers who choose to wait years on a waiting list to come and run the shop for two weeks. And usually end up finding love in the pretty seaside town.

Not my favourite of this series. The FMC was pathetic and not likeable at all. Would have preferred to have read a whole book about Jasper and Sam.

I was super excited to have the privilege to read the next instalment of this beautiful series and this series just keeps getting better and better and every time I read one of these books it makes me wish that there was a real borrow a bookshop holiday I could go on as sounds absolutely perfect.

This instalment introduces us to Austen the latest lucky inhabitant to be holidaying at borrow a book shop and also delves more into the character of Pattie as well as giving us an insight into how the lives of the other characters we have previously met are doing. Loved to see how Austen blossomed during her stay at the bookshop.

This could be read as a standalone but I would recommend reading in order for full enjoyment. I am looking forward to the next instalment

4 stars - a lovely, heartwarming return to clove lore.

This is the the fourth book set in the fictional seaside town of clove lore where in which the premise of each story revolves around the current “borrowers” of a bookshop. The borrowers get to have a working holiday by managing their own bookshop and cafe for 2 weeks before returning home.

This instalment gives us our first sapphic/ lesbian relationship and the story of two newcomers to tight knit community.

Reading these books feels like coming home to your own family with lots of love, hope and happiness.

Lighthearted and hopeful they could also be read as a stand alone but I would highly recommend reading them all.

4/5 stars!

This was the cutest, sweetest read I needed. Austen and Patti's characters had me hooked, their character development was everything and watching their relationship blossom into something so beautiful got me in all the feels. The Borrow a Bookshop series has found itself on my favourite series list <3

The concept of this story was so interesting and fun! Who wouldn’t want to own a bookshop for 2 weeks? This story was cozy and atmospheric and so lovely.

I love this series of books and this one didn't dissapoint me. It feels like a cosy blanket wrapped round me. Whilst the story is about the main character I love the fact that I am given an update on the lives of the people I met in the previous books. Whilst set in a fictional place if you have ever visited Clovelly you feel like you are transported there.

I loved this book. It would be great for the summer time. I love reading books about books and this one was perfect. It was such a sweet read. Would highly recommend.

A timely topic of people thinking not being good enough and about rediscovering who you are or can be. I also appreciated the scene with Austen ordering new children's books for the store, including ones about living with a disability.

And Jasper was an interesting character: getting things wrong, but managing to aks himself how to make things right again.

A quick and easy read. Would make a good summer read to take along. Easy to pick up and easy to put down. Would recommend.

Absolutely wonderful being back in Clove Lore, this time we meet Austen a 'Borrower' who was supposed to come enjoy the holiday with someone else but ended up coming alone. I had a little trouble liking Austen at the beginning her using her phone so much while being around people even costumers was annoying me a lot but in the end I loved her together with Patti. Being back together with the gang was wonderful and the new additions of Jasper and his mother Esteé was just perfect they didn't overshadow Austen's story at all. And I need Radia to come sort my life out, she's only a little 6 year old girl on paper but she is just wonderful and I need her in my life.

Once again Kiley wrote an incredible story in a beloved seaside town and I can not wait to come back and see what every one is up to again especially Mrs Crocombe and her book of love and ice cream of course.

A lovely new story in the Borrow a Bookshop series. Two new Romances as well as checking in on old favorites, this is a perfect cozy read. The new Borrower was a relatable character and I enjoyed her growth. Nice read, best in order but ok on its own.

Brilliant another visit to Devon to the borrow a bookshop. This time love is truly in the air with. Few new arrivals to the village. Austen is the next borrower in the bookshop but Minty has also new neighbours into the now sectioned off big house which she’s sold and are now luxury flats.
But who are the newbies and how will they fare in the beautiful coastal village.
Great to see the bookshop back and now looking forward to its next borrower.

These Borrow a Bookshop books are addictive. This time you have Austin a poet running the book shop. Not an easy character to like at first but she grows on and she finds love and herself again. You meet old characters . Radia is a brilliant character as is Minty . Mrs Crocombe is back with her book and ice cream. You also follow Jasper and his mum who move intro one of Minty ‘s flats. . Another love blossoms . Just read it. It is ace

I decided to read this book on a whim and to my surprise it's probably one of the loveliest stories I've read in a while. I adored Austen and Patti as characters and loved watching their relationship bloom. The borrow a bookshop series has just been the cosiest series I've ever gotten into and leaves me feeling uplifted when i read them!

Can't wait for more from Kiley Dunbar!
