This was a very enjoyable story!
A group of strangers are put together in a cooking class in Paris. The story follows their individual storylines and histories and the experiences and people they met along the way. It's just a fun story - the food sounds amazing and the class sounds like a fun experience. Gabi and Kate are the larger characters and they both meet fabulous Parisian men.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for a temporary, digital ARC in return for my review.
The cover of this novel drew me right in. It promised exactly what I needed during a stressful time. In these pages I knew that I would find Paris and food. In addition, reading the book I found characters about whom I cared.
Sophie Beaumont really knows the city and its culinary world. The descriptions of both helped me to feel that I was walking in many neighborhoods and tasting many treats. The cooking school itself sounded so special that I wished it were real.
Readers most closely follow three characters and those around them, including their romantic interests. Each has a backstory that readers get to know as they spend time with Kate, Gabi and Sylvie. Readers will want to witness their growth and will hope that they find happiness.
It is very easy to recommend this title. I very much look forward to whatever this author writes next.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Alcove Press for this title. All opinions are my own.
I enjoyed reading this book! It's a great book to start the summer season with. I loved all the food and Paris related things. It was a really quick and fun read and I recommend it to everyone!

Thoughts
Paris is an auto-read setting for me and this story absolutely delivers in making you feel as if you are strolling along Parisian streets. This book is a foodie’s dream- if you weren’t hungry, you will be (there are several pages dedicated just to cheese). I enjoyed Sylvie’s passion and fight for the school she founded, Kate’s new-found purposefulness in the wake of her divorce, and Gabi’s discoveries that reignite her artistic dreams. Friendship, close-door romances, and Paris in the Springtime result in a lighthearted and cozy read.
Gabi and Kate both Australian and with personal issues decided to join Sylvie’s Paris Ccoking School to expand their culinary abilities. Gabi is an artist that can’t get back her inspiration and thinks that going back to the city she loves will be helpful. While Kate who, recently divorced from Josh her cheating husband, has the same idea. For four weeks during spring, they will escape from their lives, immersing in the world of French cuisine.
Sylvie the founder of the cooking school with the help of her assistant sous-chef, Damien, are set to “help people discover and apply the French way of home cooking to their own lives”. She also lives in the premises with a kitchen that is the centre of everything, inspired by her grandparents house where she first learn to cook as a child.
She gave her separated paramour, Claude, an ultimatum, she is tired of being second in every aspect of his life.
Max and Serge provide suppliers to the school, but their relationship with the owner is more friendship than business.
The author’s description of the city is amazing and if we add French cooking with the flavors and fragrances we end up with an extraordinary combination impossible to resist.
If you enjoy cooking and travel this book is for you. I loved it!
This was a fun, quick read for me.

Well written and great pacing.
You will want to read this one if you love romance, Paris, friendships between women and cozy stories.

I was drawn to this book just by the cover and title alone. I went in thinking it would have “Emily in Paris” vibes and was a little disappointed.
This book begins when a new month starts at Sylvia Morel’s Paris Cooking School. Students Kate and Gabi take the class and gain an escape from the drama of their lives back home. They are both eager to find each other during this course on French cooking.
Meanwhile, in the background, Sylvia’s cooking school is facing bad reviews and being harassed. I found the resolution of this harassment to be very bizarre and unusual.
Overall, I loved the way Sophie Beaumont transports you to Paris. Her descriptions of the scenery and life in Paris made me feel like I was there. This helped to add to the story, but I still felt like it was missing something.
If you love reading about Paris, and are looking for a quick read, then try this book.

This book has everything I love in one - multiple POV, talking about food, finding yourself, and a Paris setting. I loved all of the characters and enjoyed following each of their individual journeys while also following the collective group journey. I look forward to reading more of this author’s work in the future.
This book was truly refreshing. It was in fact three stories of 3 women, who met at The Paris Cooking School and found their love matches in the city of love. The plot was wonderfully flowing from one woman to another and only mixed while them being together in the kitchen. Their lives were a mess, all of them searching for their identity and most needed recovery from their previous lives. I have to admit that I was delighted with each of the heroines and loved that all had an individual little twist.
A lot of native French food accompanied the book so you would mostly had liked to try all of them. I loved all the descriptions not only of the cooking but also of the places that were mentioned. The whole book was a balm for the soul as it was a cozy, clean read perfect for vacation time.
I would also like to thank NetGalley and the publisher Alcove Press for providing me with an early copy.
This was a very cute book, I loved learning more about Paris, and all the cooking sounded delicious! I would love to attend cooking classes in Paris! The characters were great but I wish we would have learned more about them. Thank You NetGalley and Alcove Press for an early reader’s copy for my honest opinion! 4 stars! Publishing Date of August 6, 2024
Unfortunately this was a 2-star read for me. While I loved the descriptions of the food and Paris, they were so extensive, the pace really dragged. The characters were quite predictable and lacked depth, which made it hard to want to keep reading. The coincidences were unbelievable and made the end of the book feel very trite. There were so many elements here I expected to love, but ultimately this just wasn't for me.
Thank you to Alcove Press and Netgalley for the advanced copy of this book.
A light cozy read with a little mystery. The story was predictable, but the location, food description and a few likeable characters make it a pleasure to read. A great book for those that are looking for a light read.
This is a fantastic book! I loved everything about it! The location of Paris is sublime! The imagery brought the city to life! The author's brilliant writing about food literally made my mouth water! Magnifique!!
The cast of characters is amazing! I have so many favorites! My absolute favorites are Kate and Arnaud! They are kind, helpful, and genuine! Shout out to Nina- dogs do bring people together!
I look forward to reading more books by this author! Maybe a cookbook- hint, hint!!
I was provided a complimentary copy of the book from Alcove Press via Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Thank you to Alcove Press for the ARC, provided in exchange for an honest review.
The Paris Cooking School was a quiet delight to read. Reading it felt a bit like taking one of the walks described in it: a lovely, meandering journey, filled with beautiful sights and vivid descriptions. I think Paris itself is as much of a main character in the novel as Sylvie, Kate and Gabi -- from the food (especially the food!), the fashion, the architecture to just the general vibe. It seems like a book that absolutely had to be set in Paris; that no other city would fit in the same way.
I enjoyed the pace very much -- even as revelations were made, it was a quiet and calm discovery, which made it really refreshing. All the main characters are changed by the events of the book, even in big ways, but it feels very straightforward: everything is happening as it should be.
There is nothing explosive or earth-shattering about this book, and there shouldn’t be. For me, it’s like Kate’s strawberry tart: perfectly, delectably beautiful.
I enjoyed savoring this book. I felt like I was there with these characters. I would love to go to a cooking school like this, it seems like so much fun and I love food.
Kate is dealing with a lot and learning how to let go. I liked watching her release the past and move toward a brighter future.
Gabi is working through parts of her past of being an artist. She still loves it, but there are demons she needs to get past and find her direction again. I liked the relationship she forms with Max also.
Sylvie is going through a lot, with the cooking school and Claude and finding new love. I liked her relationship with her son too. I liked seeing how much she loves the cooking school, but also wanting to take a step back and chase some other dreams she has too.
I liked the relationships between these characters too and how we watch them help and lift the others up.
The side characters who are also involved in the school and with these characters are really great too.
I can't wait to get a copy of this book and read through my favorite sections again.
Thank you NetGalley for this ARC!
Sylvie Runs the Paris cooking school where she only takes a few students in a batch and it's a very well known cooking school.
We see Sylvie and her two student's journeys in this book.
I have read many books based in Paris but this one showed a very different side of Paris, it didnt show the typical Eiffel tower and basic Louvre Museum. It showed the local markets, the river, the canals, the boat life, the small cafes.
We of course get to learn so much more about Parisian food culture, traditions, history and many recipes.
The group of students is very lovely and wholesome, and the three journeys we went on were really interesting, we see the story not just through one pov but three which gives so much more perspective.
There is a small mystery subplot and I absolutely enjoyed it, that was the perfect amount of mystery I like in my cozy books.
It's a very sweet and perfect spring read which will make you want to have some cheese (or lots of it).
Ooooh this one was really fun but man was I hungry the entire time I was reading! The Paris vibes were immaculate and the characters were charming. I loved! This is definitely a story for foodies!
Don't read this book while hungry! All kidding aside, this book reminds the reader as to the story that food preparation and the dish itself can tell and how it can bring people together. It is the joy of life that is meant to be shared. Both Gabi and Kate came to the cooking school wandering and aimless as to what they truly wanted in life. They found great loves bust most importantly, they found themselves. Sylvie certainly struggled coupled with bad reviews and her relationship with Claude but she eventually knew what was right for her with Serge. Paris is a magical place that draws any visitor in and all peers in the cooking school shared their experiences both through learning the traditional dishes but through personal changes as they have evolved. A great read as to how quickly one can evolve and find happiness and joy if a person is open to it.
I love a cooking school story and a Paris cooking school is a bonus! Great setting though the characters fell a little flat to me. Thank you NetGalley for the advance ecopy,
The best parts of the book were the setting in Paris and descriptions of food. They held the book together and were an escape.
The story itself was a little flat. It was hard to keep track of all the point of view characters and had long passages of narrative without much dialogue.
But Paris. Paris is fun!
