Perfect for the growing need for manga-style books for a younger audience. Even though Winx Club may not have the same grip on girls today as it did when I was a kid, the story is still enjoyable for young girls (and boys) alike.

The second volume of the new Winx Club graphic novel series published by Papercutz continues the graphic novel story which was kicked off in the first volume. This volume features three stories: A Friend for Bloom, Prisoner of the Dark and The Swamp Monster.

I was a tad disappointed when I found out that the newly published comic series was not a new never-been-released before set of comics from the Winx Club universe. Instead, they are the next set of the comics published in the early 2000s in the Winx Club magazines which I myself used to collect as a kid. However, I'm really happy that they are being republished, as they are really great comics. I was especially delighted to see Prisoner in the Dark, which had not yet been officially published in a graphic novel bindup before.

A Friend for Bloom tells the story of how Bloom came to Magix, how she first met Stella and found out she was a fairy. It pretty much exactly follows the very first episode of the television series and introduces the reader to the Winx Club universe. Prisoner of the Dark and The Swamp Monster are two original comics not related to the series (although The Swamp Monster is probably set in the same swamp as episode four of season 1 was). Prisoner in the Dark digs into Bloom's insecurities and fears as she adjusts to life in Magix as a fairy. This comic holds an especially special place in my heart as this was the first first comic that I read from the Winx Club magazines when growing up. It was honestly really refreshing to read a comic about Bloom struggling to come to terms with her new life. It felt very honest and raw and showed that sometimes even when something amazing happens, not everything is happy-go-lucky from the get go. The friendship between the howeer fairies is really just beautiful and supportive. The Swamp Monster features the Specialists and fairies as they have to battle a big mud-monster in the swamp while the witches try to mess things up for them. Overall, a very typical but thoroughly enjoyable Winx Club format where the fairies and Specialists have to team up to save that day.

Overall, the stories are a good mix of exciting and gripping yet still carrying the lightheartedness that the show does. I really hope that Papercutz continues to release the comics in order without skipping any of the stories. I'm really looking forward to volume 3!

Love it! I grew up watching the winx club and even read the original books so this was such a blast. I'm sad I don't have the first volume but the kindle version comes out in June so that's okay. If you grew up with the winx club or even know someone younger who would enjoy the please get.

This series was my entire childhood so I was very happy when I was given an early copy to review.
This book keeps all the magic of the original series while also including something new.
It is also really easy to understand to people who never got to watch Winx club.

Winx Club was a big staple of my childhood and I loved watching it on Saturday mornings. The clothing, theme song, and girl power radiating through my television screen every week was instrumental. This new comic series helps bring that nostalgia back to life. It's not quite the same magic as the show, but it makes a valiant attempt. This second volume, Friends, Monsters, and Witches!, was cute but not as exciting as the first one. The first story was unnecessary as it just repeated what happened in the first book just with different angles. Perhaps it was a recap for those who failed to read the initial volume? I wish we got to learn more from the secondary fairies like Musa or Flora instead of just focusing on Bloom all the time.

These books are fun and exciting, but they can definitely dive into the outrageous rather easily. The zaniest part of this collection was when Bloom was imprisoned in a tree by the witches. There were multiple panels of an elm tree screaming for help. It was a very silly situation, but I was willing to overlook it when the beefcakes from the Specialist school teamed up with Winx Club to help rescue her. I'm a simple lady with simple tastes. I'm eager to continue reading this series because it's a blast from the past and it's very easy to read. Let's hope the next issue has more Friends, Monsters, and Witches!

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC.

Winx was after my childhood but I can still remember seeing it on TV, often when I was looking after my little sister.
Since I already read the first comic, I figured "why not".
As in the first volume, we get 3 stories with bright and colorful illustrations.
It's enjoyable but if you aren't a winx fan or if you have binged the series then this is just a repeat of what you saw or read in the old comics.
We see our friends grow both in power, as in their friendship and in their own being.

"Winx Club, Vol. 2" by Rainbow Spa is a delightful continuation of the magical adventures of Bloom and her friends. This second installment takes readers deeper into the enchanting world of Magix, where friendship and bravery reign supreme.

One of the highlights of this book is the emphasis on the importance of friendship and teamwork. As Bloom navigates the challenges of Fairy school and battles evil forces, she learns valuable lessons about trust, loyalty, and the true meaning of friendship. These themes are expertly woven into the story, adding depth and resonance to the narrative.

Overall, "Winx Club, Vol. 2" is a charming and enchanting read that will delight fans of the series and newcomers alike. With its engaging characters, thrilling adventures, and heartfelt message of friendship, this book is sure to cast a spell on readers of all ages.

This was so nostalgic and fun to read!
3 chapters continuing the Winx Club storyline with amazing graphics
Theres a character bio reference in the beginning to refresh the reader on the characters and their powers
A great follow up to the 1st volume
So good, i reccomend for anyone who watched the show growing

Two out of three chapters were not directly adapted/drawn from the show, but those are basically just fillers that are not interesting to me personally. I wish we get to see more of either the Winx or the Trix doing interesting stuff with funny banters. The Red Fountain men were so boring, why are they here in the first place? Anyways, I really did not enjoy this.

As a long time winx fan of both the show and comics this was a nice nostalgic read. The art style is a bit wonkier than I remembered but it didn’t bother me too much and its nice to see the classic costumes and dynamics.

That was just as fun, just as magical and enjoyable as the tv series...a good graphic adaptation of the tv series one might say plus can see new story points added in. Although feel this is better adaptation the 4kids translation.

Reading this feels like going back to my childhood.
I have to admit that the story is not the best and the illustration style either, but I have a good time every time that I read Winx Club. I need volume 3 ASAP.

This is a classic-style cartoon compilation. It's a nice representation of female friendship and has themes that littler girls will be into. There are also some cute animal characters.

It drives me a little crazy that Barbie and comics like this represent girls bodies in such a one-dimensional way. Can we get some different shapes and sizes please? Little girls aren't dumb and the empathetic ones will compare themselves whether we want them to or not.

I loved winx club as a kid and this was no exception, the art style is exactly what I remember and it's still a favourite
I think it portrayed a few really good messages that will help someone reading this book,

The Winx Club was a favorite of mine when I was younger, so I loved the opportunity to go back to these characters and read the second installment of the comics. This volume shows friendship in a candid way— how it’s formed, how it grows, and how we work things out with our friends. The message of female friendship in this volume is strong, and young girls reading this comic will be able to identify with and look up to the strong female main characters.

In this second volume, we finally find out how Stella and Bloom met as well as how Bloom discovered about fairy's powers and magical realms. The characters are easy to relate with, they sometimes fight or just like Bloom, she finds herself doubting about the choices she made and if she really belongs in Alfea.

You have more storytelling from the specialist's and Trix's point of view, you see them interact with the head and teachers of their schools and the missions they are given. And I love how the Winx have small poems as spells sometimes!

Something I like about the comics is that there are a lot more quests than in the cartoon. If you were a fan of the TV content, you can still discover some new material of our favorite fairies. I wish there were more stories in a single volume though.

Some drawings in the first story seem different depending on the characters: Stella's wings are disproportionate,Bloom's and the other characters' contour lines are not of the same thickness and don't have the same drawing style, it looks like they come from different comics.

It brings a feeling of nostalgia and addiction, and like Bloom said: "Alfea, Magix, the Winx Club... They're the best!"

Loved the three stories in this volume and even now as an adult I still wish i was bloom. I loved how they did the flashback to how bloom found out she was a fairy.

Honestly, I just love Winx Club! I used to watch the show as a kid and read all the books. I 100% wanted to be Bloom when I was little and she's still a badass fairy to this day. I love returning to these characters and the stories are so much fun. The story is in full color and I've always loved the art! There are so many main characters: the Winx Club fairies, the Trix witches, and the Specialists. Each has their own distinct power/skill/personality and bring something to the story, and while they're not all very developed yet it's still early in the series. I look forward to seeing each character grow and become more complex. You can see certain characters getting more on page time and can guess they might have more character development in the next volume. Any Winx Club fan will enjoy this one and even those who may be new to them will love this series. Winx Club is about friendship, magic, self-discovery, and so much more! It's a very quick read and will leave you wanting to rewatch the animated show or even the Netflix live action series (thought that one is VERY different and only lasted 2 seasons).

I voluntarily read and reviewed a digital ARC of this title from Papercutz via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

If there is one thing you need to know about me, it's that I am a Winx Club fan first and human second. I devoted most of my younger years to the tv show, I spent all my pocket money to buy the comics and me and my friend used play and pretend we are a part of the Winx Club. I nearly wept tears of joy when my request for the ARC got approved - thank you NetGalley and Papercutz!

This is a delightful collection of three stories with full colors and it made me so nostalgic! If you have seen the tv show, the first story, A Fried for Bloom, is rather familiar to you - it's about how Bloom ends up at Alfea. The second story, Prisoners of the Dark, deals a lot with Bloom feeling homesick and feeling like she doesn't fit in which I loved reading about! I always felt like she got used to her new life unrealistically fast?

The third story in this collection, The Swamp Monster, is my favorite of the three! Firstly, there is a lot more action which I enjoyed greatly. But we also get to see a lot more of the guys from Red Fountain and the Trix trio! I always found them really fascinating and I loved reading about them a bit more!

Truly a great book for any Winx Club fan out there! I loved this one very much and I hope to fave the chance to read more of my favorite girls in the future! <3
