This is the fifth installment of the captivating Moonstone Landing series and another beautifully written story by Ms. Platt. Caden and Ella first met when she had her debut last year, but then he went off to war. He has now returned to England, battered and bruised, both physically and mentally. He is in the hospital recovering from his injuries and Ella is volunteering there. She is very happy to see Caden, and although he deeply loves Ella, he doesn't consider himself worthy of her. Even though Caden has changed much and become more jaded since she last saw him, Ella is determined to look past his sarcasm and bitterness and see the man she fell in love with. As Caden succumbs to her dedication and charm, there are other obstacles they must overcome before they can finally have their happy reunion.
The story was well-written and captivating, full of romance, intrigue, and drama. The interactions and witty banter between Caden and Ella were fun to read as you could easily see how strong the chemistry between them was. The twists and turns in the plot kept me turning the pages, anxious to see what happens next. An exciting and moving story!

4 1/2*STARS*
Colonel Cade Sexton, Marquess of Mersey, is recovering from injuries sustained in a conflict in Africa, at Fort Arundel Army Hospital, Moonstone Landing, Lady Ella Stockwell and her sister are in Moonstone Landing for the summer. Volunteering to do whatever they can to cheer up the wounded at the hospital, Ella is very happy to see Caden. Despite his pain, Caden is glad to see the lady he met a year ago and couldn't forget, but complications arise when Caden's life takes center stage in politics and Ella doesn't know where she fits into his life.
I shed a few tears over this one.
Very mild descriptive sex.

I have read and reviewed all of the books in this series and thoroughly enjoyed them. Meara Platt has created a cosy community filled with funny, whimsical and memorable characters who pop up in most of the stories. Here we meet Ella whom I last remember meeting as a child with her sister in her uncles story.
Caden is a wounded soldier recuperating at the hospital in Moonstone Landing, he is an angry man and has shut out everything and everyone trying to help him. He and Ella met the previous year during the London Season. Cue the beginning of a fractious relationship combining misunderstandings and meddling. As always her plots are well drawn and executed. I have a great fondness for this collection of stories and encourage anyone to begin with Book 1 and go forth. Thanks to Netgalley and Dragon blade for an ARC of The Moonstone Hero.

My least favourte book so far.

Caden is a hero at the beginning of the book recovering in the hospital. Ella is the heroine and comes visiting Caden. IMO there was such a lot of will they won't they. Our hero dislikes his grandfather and hates that he's taken advantage of new territories. The whole story is a polemic against imperialism. There's a couple of kisses and then passion once they are married. Once the grandfather has a heart attack he, Caden and Ella all seem to have a personality change. If I'm honest I found this story boring and repetitious.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I absolutely loved this story!!! Cade and Ella were such amazing characters. The back and forth banter by Ella and Cade shows each characters confidence and strength. I had to chuckle when Ella told Cade no one would help him in the hospital except her as he had run the others off.
While Cade is reluctant to be recognized as a Hero for what happened in Africa, he does realize the impact and change he can affect by speaking out.
An amazing story! I highly recommend this latest Moonstone story!

A Wounded Hero on a Mission and the Lady That would Do Everything in Her Power to Win His Love

Everyone was afraid to approach Caden’s hospital room except for Ella. She would get him out of his surliness, no matter what it took. With her help, Caden would regain his strength and will to live. What happened to him, and his regiment, was because of corruption and greed. His mission was to expose this outrage. Because he was afraid his enemies would hurt Ella, he kept pushing her away.

Could Caden accomplish his mission? Would Ella stand by him despite the difficulties? What about his volatile relationship with his grandfather? I enjoyed this story and would recommend it to those who like historical romance with wounded heroes and the women who stand by their side, no matter what.

Another beautifully written love story by Meara Platt in the setting of Moonstone Landing. Lady Ella Stockwell and Lord Mersy, Cade Seaton met when Ella debuted a year ago., Now he's a very grumpy patient in the hospital she volunteers at and she doesn't think he remembers her.
In this "he falls first" and "she's already smitten" story he has demons to overcome and she needs patience and faith in him and for him. She believes in him, and the moonstones. A love so tender you can't help but swoon, just a little.

I have been a big fan of this series, but found this one to be a little underwhelming. There just didn't really seem to be much to it. The characters are fine but not especially interesting (I'm much more interested in Imogen's story coming up next). I did really enjoy the banter between Ella and Caden at the beginning, but I felt like that went away once their relationship really got underway. And all of the obstacles they encounter seem to be resolved really quickly - I know there is a fine line for writers between making things too difficult or too easy for their characters and this time around the author went with too easy. Even Caden moving on after what happened to him in the military seemed just too easy. And then there's his grandfather who starts a campaign to ruin him and his relationship with Ella and whom Caden believes to be a pretty horrible person - the man has a heart attack and Caden forgives him for all the awful things and then when he wakes up has a complete personality transplant. Again, it was all just too easily resolved. And there's never really any question that Ella and Caden will not get to their happy ending - there is, however, a lot of Ella doubting herself and Caden's ability to stay true to her. Definitely not the strongest in the series, but not a bad novel. Like a said previously, I'm looking forward to finding out more about Imogen and her pirate.

I loved everything about this book, I literally wasn’t able to put it down until I was done reading it, every page left me wanting to read more and I loved the characters and I definitely can’t wait to move on to the next story in the series. I promise you will fall in love with the characters.

Torn Between Love and Duty

I really enjoyed this heartwarming installment of the series. It has a captivating plot and is full of romance, emotional insights, political intrigue and interesting historical tidbits. The characters are endearing and I loved the palpable chemistry between them. The imagery of Moonstone Landing and its inhabitants is so charming, I‘d love to live there.

The first part of the book has a grumpy-sunshine theme, a slow-burning romance with lots of playful banter and the magic of Moonstone Landing. But then the story picks up speed with twists, turns and obstacles for the couple to overcome. I was almost overwhelmed by the constant changes but it was nice how Ella stood by Caden and supported him.

When Colonel Caden Seaton, Marquess of Mersey, is brought to Moonstone Landing Hospital seriously injured and traumatized after his assignment in West Africa, he riots and doesn't let anyone get close to him. Nobody dares to approach him due to his fits of rage and sarcasm. Until Lady Ella Stockwell puts herself in charge of him and takes over visiting services. She she can handle his moods well and parries them gently with quick wit and compassion.
Caden and Ella met before during her London season and were immediately attracted to each other, but then he had to leave England with his regiment.

Ella visits her relatives in Moonstone Landing every year and volunteers at the hospital.
She prefers the simplicity and romanticism of Moonstone Landing to London’s Society. When she learns of Caden's hospitalisation, she is eager to see him and help him.

As he slowly recovers, Caden hides behind a mask of imperviousness, but Ella sees through it and he feels at peace in her company.
The fact that he is being celebrated as a hero for a senseless, unjust war and as the only survivor of the massacre disgusts Caden.
Above all, the fact that his money- and power-hungry superiors and some important personalities, including his own grandfather, the Duke of Seaton, are behind it, does not allow him to rest.
But then he realises the benefits of this worship and decides to use it in his fight for justice.

Caden is unsure how to proceed with Ella. Should he court her or not? He loves her, but doesn't want to put her in danger while he faces his political opponents...

I can’t wait for the next part of the series and gladly recommend this enjoyable read!

We are back at Moonstone Landing for this historical romance. It is a garrison town on the Cornish coast. A military hospital has been built there. The town itself is a beautiful peaceful place that helps most to recover. There are two families that are at the heart of the town. You will love both of them. Some of those that pass through the town find reasons to stay.
Apart from the families and town that link the series, it is easy to read each book on its own.
All the characters are fabulous and lots of fun. The storyline is interesting and important.
Great fun.

Seeing Ella slowly gain Caden's trust and get through his rough exterior while he was injured and lying in the hospital was really something to watch. Then when she defends him against his grandfather showed that she is a force to be reckoned with. I'm so glad they got their HEA, and the grandpa was reformed. My only little complaint is that I wish they had gotten married sooner in the book.
Thank you to netgalley for the ARC. Opinions are my own.

I really enjoyed the Moonstone Hero. It was similar tragic hero as the first book but the plot was of course different. This book is the story of the oldest of the nieces. Although I did miss the ghost of the captain, all the other characters were vastly amusing. I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with guidelines.

Beauty and the wounded bear...

I really enjoyed Lady Ella and Caden Seaton.
Lady Ella meets Caden again after he has been badly injured in the war and she is nursing him. He is surly, rude and throwing things because he's a wounded bear, in pain and ashamed. Ella is no nonsense and strong and doesn't take his gruff. She sees right through to his pain. There's a little bit of moonstone magic.
Recommend.

A beautiful and awe inspiring story. Part of a series, this provides us with the story of Ella, now grown up and Caden.

Spun with family, banter, love and incredible creativity from the author this story will grab your attention and your heart. Both characters are very focused, pig headed but supportive as well as protective of each other.
Beautifully crafted with the amazing talents of this author who brings us story after story of romance and joy. An honor to read her works and a blessing that she shares them so freely with the world.

The Moonstone Hero by Meara Platt is the newest entry into the Moonstone Landing series. It is a wonderful legend, that the moonstones will glow in the presence of both a full moon and true love. Ella is now all grown up. We’ve known her from when she was just a girl. She and her sister still spend summers in Moonstone Bay with her uncle. She is volunteering at the hospital for wounded soldiers and today is trying to make headway with Caden Seaton, the best looking man she’s ever seen, but also the most difficult to get along with. True, he’s in a lot of pain, but he’s fun all the other volunteers, and most of the nurses, off by cussing and throwing things. She won’t put up with it. She is the sweetest, but the most determined, woman he’s even met and it only takes a couple of days to fall completely under her power. He’s a hero and soon there will be generals to convince him to go on a hero’s tour and his grandfather to convince him to yield to his power. He is determined to protect Ella.

Meara Platt writes the most magical books. That is not to say that there is no ugliness, but she manages to conquer most of it. She writes perfect characters, more perfect than real life allows, it must be said, and Caden and Ella are no different. She is as stubborn as he is. He is a hero, but she puts up with his behavior, which has improved mightily. He wants to make his tour mean something, wants to right the wrongs he saw in Africa and has started with the peers to be found in Moonstone Bay. They have all known Ella for years, and vow to protect her while they are helping Caden accomplish his goals. So much more to this book than just the romance. It is a moving story. Lots of fun, actually. Thank you, Meara Platt, for another lovely book!

💋💋

This is a wonderful, slightly angsty book from Meara.
More so than her others in my mind.
Beautifully written with some great phrases, my favourite being, ‘breathlessly undertook their romantic exertions’,
Just perfectly described.

The characters are very charming.
Ella, the little girl now grown to a woman, a diamond, is beautiful, patient, thoughtful, and very supportive.
She’s everything I expected her to be.

Caden is a powerful personality, brave but very understated, intelligent and charismatic.
They compliment each other so well on so many levels.
This is an amazing read, don’t miss it .

I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review

Meara Platt’s “The Moonstone Hero” is a captivating tale that transports readers to the enchanting seaside village of Moonstone Landing. With her signature blend of rich dialogue and vivid scenery, Platt captivates the reader with a story of love, trust, and the magic of believing.

The novel follows the journey of Lady Ella Stockwell and the war hero, Caden Seaton, who is war-scarred both physically & mentally, as they navigate the turbulent waters of love and healing. Platt masterfully portrays their emotional depth, making the reader yearn for their happily ever after. The chemistry between the couple is palpable, set against a backdrop that’s as charming as it is magical.

“The Moonstone Hero” is more than just a romance; it’s a testament to the power of love and the belief in the extraordinary. Platt’s writing shines as brightly as the moonstones her characters cherish, making this book a true treasure in the series. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book; all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Ever since she was a little girl, Lady Ella Stockwell has spent idyllic summers at her uncle Cormac’s home in Moonstone Landing. But this year is slightly different, for a contingent of wounded soldiers has just arrived in the charming seaside village, including the handsome and highly decorated war hero, Caden Seaton. Ella lost her heart to Caden the previous year when making her Society debut, all it took was a waltz to know he was the only one she would ever love. But he is much changed since returning to England, for he is terribly wounded and surlier than ever. Caden Seaton, colonel in the Royal Marines, and grandson and heir to the powerful Duke of Seaton, did not need any entanglements when Lady Ella Stockwell first swept into his life. He certainly does not need them now that he is battered and bruised. She was a ton diamond when he first met her last year and is still exquisite now.
The fifth book in the series & it’s easily read on its own but I must admit I loved seeing Ella all grown up. This was one beautiful romance. Caden & Ella shared a waltz that changed their lives then Caden was deployed to Africa & returned not only broken in body but in mind too. Ella spends time with him whilst he recovers, talking & even reading poetry & the attraction they both felt is still there & deepens butt he’s a hero & must leave to tour the country plus other factions are working against them. I love them both & how they were true to each other, Caden who thought he hadn’t a romantic bone in his body couldn’t have been more wrong with the instructions he gave to Elmer – I shed a tear at how beautiful that was. I also loved that a couple of characters from the author’s other series made appearances. The epilogue was touching & rounded off the book to perfection
My review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

“The Moonstone Hero”, by Meara Platt, is a sweet historical romance between a tortured hero plagued by guilt and a resolute heroine, with the leads being refreshingly honest and open with each other.
I liked the kindness and respect between Caden and Ella and how they show their fondness, affection and love for each other in such a candid way.
Caden is recovering from physical and psychological wounds sustained in a terrible battle and suffers with the horrible memories of his dead comrades.
With her sweet and gentle dispositions, Ella is the right healer for the wounded hero, and a balm for the agony in his soul.
I liked the characters and their relationships and the atmosphere of Moonstone Landing.
I found the book too long, relaying too much on dialogue and having a modern tone in conversations and interactions that often took me out of the historical setting.
