I really enjoy romance and historical fiction in this time frame but I didn't realize this was more for Young Adult readers so I didn't love this one.
I liked the story and the characters. It was an interesting story that kept me reading. Historical fiction is the genre I best like to read and this is a good addition to my library.
I requested this several years ago and I don't think it's a book for me anymore. So I will not be reviewing at this time, but if I do read it, I will update this review. Thank you for the opportunity.
Thanks for providing a review copy, I was not able to read this one. So I will not be leaving a review on social media at this time.
I finished this book in about an hour, It is more of a novella than a novel. It was short and sweet. I wish there had been more substance to the novel because there promised secrets and I wasn't given any! She fell in love instantly which I really do not enjoy sadly, because I really wanted to like this because it reminded me of Downton Abbey.
Manor of Secrets by Katherine Longshore was a book that took me a bit to really get into it. At first, I didn't think I was going to enjoy it. But finally it started to pick up and I really ended up enjoying it. I didn't love it like I wanted to but I didn't hate it. This book was sort of in the middle for me. It might have been the writing or the way it flowed that didn't quite fit but like I said I didn't hate it.
A well-written and enjoyable book, I am glad I requested this title and will be more than happy to pass the title along to my fellow library purchasers.
I usually do not read YA books, but I thought this had an interesting premise so I wanted to check it out. And I was not disappointed. Smart characters, well-developed storyline, and oh my some of the plot twists are unexpected, and kept me engaged the entire time I read the book. Actually, the character development in this book is some of the writers of other genre's could learn something from. Well done.
