Another great read from Katherine Center. It’s filled with charming banter and characters you just love!

What a fantastic book! I loved all of the characters, the drama, the emotional situations that brought depth to the storyline, and the slow-burning romance. I thought the plot and story were unique and interesting. I have read all of Center’s books, and this is one of my favorites. The narrator did a fantastic job of capturing the characters emotions and brought depth to the scenes. Overall, such a fantastic book and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good rom-com!

The audiobook was just as good as the physical book. Patti Murin did great and made the book so much fun to listen to!

One book that I absolutely loved was an unforgettable blend of compelling storytelling, richly developed characters, and stunning prose. From the very first page, it drew me into its world, wrapping me in its atmosphere and emotions. The plot was intricate yet beautifully paced, with twists that surprised and moments that tugged at my heart. The characters felt so real and vivid, their struggles and triumphs resonating deeply, making me feel completely invested in their journey. This book was more than just a story—it was an experience that stayed with me long after I finished it, and it’s one I’ll eagerly recommend to anyone who appreciates a truly remarkable read.

Emma has been taking care of her dad when she is given the chance to step out of her caretaking duties for a while and help one of her favorite authors who is in need of an author to help with rewriting his screenplay. When she arrives at his home it is clear Charlie is not expecting her and does not want her there. However, she is there until she can get a ride out and until then she is going to help him with his screenplay whether he wants it or not. Some forced chemistry that turns into more. Will they get across the finish line with a screenplay and find something more?

Reviewing Katherine Center's works presents a delightful challenge that I eagerly embrace. I’ve come to understand the reason behind this enthusiasm: She masterfully creates characters who are incredibly lovable and relatable in their beautifully flawed humanity. Her plotlines sweep you up from the moment you turn to the first page, ensnaring your attention with a magnetic pull. The love stories she weaves are some of the most captivating, rich with emotional depth and authenticity.
Articulating the magic embedded in her heartfelt narratives is no easy feat. Each story resonates with hope and inspiration long after turning the last page. If you've journeyed through this book and felt connected to its core themes, I wholeheartedly encourage you to dive into her other titles. Each one is a unique gem that promises to offer its own brand of joy and enlightenment, and I do not doubt that you’ll cherish every experience along the way.

Loved this one! I was not expecting all the real life issues that each character was experiencing and processing. They were so complex and going through it. I love when characters are relatable, especially in a romance. Because sometimes when your life is rocky or you have medical issues or are a caregiver, having a love life seems impossible and this book speaks to that. It is about a daughter who put aside her dreams and opportunities to care for her father who was injured, though she feels some responsibility and she had to raise her younger sister because of what happened while caring for him.
Emma gets a chance of a lifetime to work with her idol, a famous screenwriter. She is a ghostwriter and she needs to fix the rom com he wrote. Though when she gets to LA nothing turns out right AT ALL.
She definitely put Charlie on a pedestal and he fell hard and fast but he was an idiot. JK he thought he was doing the right thing. But that ending phone video message then his speech, aahh i almost cried. And the way that he was putting her first in the ending project. The bonus scene was so great! Wish you extended it to the helping of the clothes right after that scene I almost screamed lol. They were so awkward and inexperienced with actual romantic connection and close relationships that it was so cute to watch.
Loved how her family ended up with all the sweet relationships and after the stressful drama of an event at the end. It's so easy to say horrible things when something really bad happens.
Loved the narrators!

DNF @ 33%. I won't be reviewing this on my blog.
Enemies to lovers is a hard sell for me in general, especially when the author makes it more of hate to love instead of enemies to lovers, which I feel was done here. I am also not a fan of main characters who loathe rich people, but then, when they fall in love with them and change their ways, it's now OK that that person is rich. Those are the main reasons, but I also found the heroine to be really annoying. I can get past that, but I need a good story to offset it. I just couldn't find that here.
I'm also not a fan of Patti Murin's narration. Her tone seems to make everything funny, even the moments that should be serious. It throws a wrench in the story. Therese Plummer really had a grip on Center's characters, and the stories were better for that. I miss her narration.
Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this title.

I wanted to love this one, I really did. It was very slow for me. I had a hard time connecting with the characters.
I don’t know, a romcom is my absolute favorite, but I just didn’t connect with this one. Not gonna say I didn’t like it because I did. UGH, I just didn’t connect with this book.
The writing was great. I enjoyed the storyline. There was cute banter between the main characters.

Maybe my favorite Katherine Center to date! The dialogue was spot on, the story was perfection, the characters were incredibly lovable. This will stick with me for a while!

This book was so fun and engaging. I loved every single moment of my listening experience. I will definitely be picking up more books by this author in the future.

It always feels a bit meta to read books about writers, but this one helped change that up a bit by using screenwriting as the genre rather than authoring books. I found the slow enemies-to-lovers build-up solid and charming here, and I appreciated the grumpiness of Charlie. I loved the weaving in of both real and fictional Hollywood stars because it kept me guessing -- I sometimes wanted to look up certain people to see if it was a real person I hadn't heard of rather than one of the various "cameos" included.

Katherine Center really has a way of making you ugly sob and go through every emotion possible when reading one of her books. I felt so much while reading this that I wasn't quite ready to let go when it ended. The relationship develops so naturally and it really felt like you were a part of it because of how well described every interaction is. It is such a beautiful, heart warming story. I will continue to read anything Katherine Center writes because she manages to turn a rom-com into a story with such power and raw emotion that you don't want to put it down. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I don't about you but this book was entertaining! So many emotions and I find myself rooting for them so hard. It was so fun and definitely a worth it read.

I loved this book. I really enjoyed the premise and the way there is a story within a story. This book is one of my favs of the year and I am grateful I got to listen to the audiobook. It’s done very well.
I laughed out load and cried, I love how well Katherine creates these characters and Patti Murin, the narrator brings them to life.
It made me take a minute and reflect on my own relationships and what I’m willing to do for my family and my spouse. Good stuff. I like when I can find a book that makes me pause and gives me space for my own reflections.

Katherine Center has always been a favorite, but this book was an absolute win for me. The main characters were so easy to fall in love with and I found myself literally laughing out loud multiple times while reading this book (which got me quite a few weird looks while I was reading it at work, since I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN.) This was such an easy and quick read for me and exactly what I needed at this time. Definitely the book to read if you’re needing a happy rom-com to get you out of a bad mood. I cannot recommend The Rom-Commers enough.

I like Katherine Center more and more and more and more. This book was SO good! The authors note at the end? Even better. This story was a BEAUTIFUL love letter from a romance author to a reader who loves romance books. It was beautiful. Thank you Katherine.

I already love Katherine Center and this book did not disappoint. I think Center does a great job writing characters who feel real. I don't agree with all their choices, but I route for them. Emma and Charlie both had their deeper issues they were dealing with, but it was fun watching them go from strangers, to friends, to lovers. I appreciate both the moments that make me laugh and the ones that make me cry. The narrator of the audiobook did a great job helping me to feel connected to these characters and the story as a whole. Fantastic read. 4 stars.

This book was fantastic. I loved the characters, and if I wasn’t busy while listening, I could’ve finished in one sitting. I loved Emma’s character and can’t wait for future Katherine Center books!

Katherine Center really doesn't miss and The Rom-Commers is no exception! Thank you to Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for the ARC - this was a joyful read!
