This book is very middle of the road for me because I just don’t know how to feel about it. Parts of it had me not wanting to put the book down but then towards the end there was a lot of things that gave me the ick. Things like the love-bombing from Cash. Like he think thinks to himself several times “I’m not a stalker but…” like if you have to tell yourself that multiple times maybe you have a problem. I also can’t stand the name Dusty Rose, as a Texan I’m offended that that’s the name she chose so that the fmc could have a “texan sounding name”. Just no.

Now the spice was good, it at least had that going for it.

This was a fun story and kept a good pace. The characters were well developed. I will positively read book 2.

This was not my first Julie Capulet book but it was the first billionaire boss I’ve read from her.

Dusty & Cash

tropes:
Billionaire boyfriend
Grumpy/sunshine
Falling for the boss
One night stand
Fast burn/Insta love

The spice was spicing in this book and there was lots of it. I enjoyed it and will likely read the other books in the series for the other brothers.

Rarely does a book challenge my initial perceptions of its themes and characters as thoroughly as "Billionaire Boss" by Julie Capulet. What begins as a familiar trope of a one-night stand blossoming into a billionaire CEO scenario quickly evolves beyond stereotypes. Contrary to expectations, Capulet presents a CEO who defies the typical portrayal of hot-headed, antagonistic male leads, offering instead a character who is refreshingly composed, stable, and emotionally evolved.

Capulet adeptly demonstrates that the true hero of the story isn't the leading lady but the "Billionaire Boss" himself. While it's unsurprising that I found myself thoroughly engrossed in the narrative, I was so captivated that I scarcely noticed the novel's end until I reached the epilogue. My initial impulse was to complain about the book's brevity, feeling a sense of longing and emotional instability, but its substantial length of 390 pages is no short piece. Capulet's writing style propels the story forward at lightning speed, delivering a compelling narrative that firmly establishes her among Amazon's top 25 contemporary romance authors.

What an enjoyable book to read! This instant romance was exactly what I was hoping it would be. This steamy love story not only had the spice in the book I was hoping for, but great attention to detail. I love how Julie Capulet was able to really make you feel as if you knew Dusty and Cash. The character development in this book leaves me wishing this becomes a series so I can find out what happens with all of Cash's siblings. Overall a great read that I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys a good steamy romance novel.

Thanks to #NetGalley and author Julie Capulet for providing this ARC in exchange for my thoughts and opinions.

While this story is steeeeamy and the tension is there from the start, I’m only rating it 3.5 stars.

I loved Cash and Dusty, however I the insta-love felt too cheesy for me personally and a little love bomby if I’m being 100% honest.

Now let’s talk about the spice because good lord does Julie know how to write SPICE🔥🌶️. On a spice scale I’m giving it 3 chili peppers. A sexy ONS that leads to more life altering sex? I’m here for it!!!! Absolutely looooved all the spicy scenes in the book and there is no shortage of it let me tell you.

I will be posting a tiktok review by 3/24/24 and have included my link to my profile below.

After many months of enjoying the slow burns, I was super onboard for this wildfire of a romance. It’s not just a fast burn, it’s a freaking chemical fire!

Dusty is a southern girl with big dreams and a strong sense of responsibility. She cares more for her family than she does for herself. And past wounds make it hard for her to open up.

Cash is your typical closed off grumpy billionaire until he catches sight of a beautiful on a beach in Hawaii. Suddenly, the business Cash has sacrificed so much for doesn’t seem to matter so much.

Dominate tropes:
Billionaire boyfriend
Grumpy/sunshine
Falling for the boss
One night stand to lifetime
Hidden identities
Fast burn

So all romances require some suspension of belief. We know that real world billionaires are kind of gross and junior employees at big businesses don’t usually bag the CEO without major drama following them. And this book was no different in that regard. But, if you can put aside all that and just enjoy the story for what it is (a flaming hot romance with a god of a man and a spitfire of a woman) then this book is a knockout.

The characters were well written. The arcs (while fast) were played quite well. The spice was simply *chef’s kiss*.

"Billionaire Boss" by Julie Capulet is like diving headfirst into a whirlwind romance with a side of corporate intrigue. Set against the backdrop of Hawaii and New York City, this book whisks you away to sandy beaches and bustling city streets. The chemistry between Dusty and Cash is off the charts, leading to steamy scenes that'll leave you reaching for a fan.

While the love story between Dusty and Cash is undeniably captivating, I couldn't help but wish for a bit more depth in the plot. Some scenes felt a tad repetitive, and Cash's alpha tendencies sometimes veered into overbearing territory. Despite these minor quibbles, Capulet's writing style pulls you in, immersing you in the world of the Maddox brothers. Overall, "Billionaire Boss" is an enjoyable read, perfect for when you're in the mood for a quick and spicy romance with a side of workplace drama.

Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for this advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

This was such a fun, quick steamy read! There were quite a few repetitions in this book when switching view points but I do feel like I truly understood the world in which Julie Capulet was building. I finished this book in one sitting and thought it was well written and a good read.

Thanks to NetGalley for providing this ARC in exchange for my own thoughts and opinions.

I pretty much read this in one sitting. This is a 'falls fast and makes no apologies about it' romance. It moved a little too fast for me because I like a little bit more angst before the inevitable falling in love part. But, it was an enjoyable easy read with likable characters and lots of spice, so if that's your thing you will love this!

A true love story that grips you with both hands and doesn’t let go.
The story draws you in, making you warm to the characters straight away.
Dusty is that down to earth girl who dreams of making it big in New York in a man’s world but that soon changes when Cash comes into her world.
Would highly recommend this book and will definitely be reading more of Julie Capulet’s work

Spoilers ahead...

I equal parts have no words to describe this and so many things to say about this book. It was....not good. It wasn't, I'm sorry. Any five star review is because the spicy scenes were spicy and DELIVERED. That was all that delivered. If this is your jam, great. If you want to know what you're getting into, please continue reading.

There is very little dialogue in this book; the author relies on internal monologues and info dumping to get information across. What is spoken is often repeated in the opposite POV. Half the time, I'm waist-deep in backstory or character description without having any idea where in the plot I am. The characters and their motivations are entirely confusing and wishy washy. Cash starts out saying he's glad that he's not recognized by Dusty, but then tells her who he is (without naming himself) and preens for her, essentially showing himself and his wealth off. Dusty is a virgin, which is FINE, but all discussion of it is very judgemental and makes it seem as if being a virgin at 23 is a hassle and something to be ashamed of.

Now for the big thing that put me off of this book, and a couple disclaimers.... I love a good boss/employee romance. Some dark dubcon here and there, and the occasional overbearing, domineering, alphahole. That all said, this boss/employee relationship was not done well. It was exploitative and Cash was never portrayed as a domineering alphahole; so when it's written, "He's using his power over me to get what he wants," the FMC is right and it's uncomfortable. Multiple times throughout the book he threatens her position if she doesn't continue the relationship with him, and then HE FIRES HER. Without a firm grasp on how I was supposed to view the character (up to this point, he's obsessively in love, but altogether a straight-shooting family guy who puts his employees first), this was very jarring and uncomfy.

Dusty started out as a take-no-prisoners, determined heroine and quickly devolved into a confused child who couldn't decide if she was mad or not. I found her thought process and rationale to be exhausting and she constantly contradicted herself in thought, word, and action.

To put the cherry on top, because she expresses hesitation about moving in with him after knowing him for FOUR DAYS, he says, "we'll get you therapy." Altogether disappointed.

I am grateful to the publisher and NetGalley for my honest review in exchange for an advanced copy.

3-3.5 Stars! This was a good book but it was so unrealistic, I couldn’t get into it.
I wish I could get a mega wealthy, gorgeous man to fall madly in love with me & bonus if he has a giant shlong and knows how to use it. But how many single, gorgeous, wealthy bachelors are there out there, dating pretty but poor, women? Honestly, that would be exhausting to have someone so “perfect” because you’d never get to slack on your looks and sexual abilities. No thanks. I’d rather just be broke. Ha!
The main characters are Cash/Ace and Dusty/Tex. I liked them both and was rooting for them to work. My main issues were how “perfect” he seemed, how unlikely the plot is and how unrealistic it all was. That being said, it was still a good book, just more fantasy fiction rom-com than just fiction rom-com. I think I’d believe in unicorns before I believed such a man as Cash actually existed. If you know of a man like Cash, please send him my way.
Plenty of ‘sexy times’ with some eye rolling ‘dirty talk’ but it was still entertaining. Some of Cash’s “help”, was a tiny bit creepy. Sweet & over the top, but a bit creepy. Dusty’s back & forth & indecisiveness was rather annoying. Make up your mind already, woman & stick with it!
If you’re looking for a short, insta love, he’s a billionaire who falls first, with plenty of ‘sexy times’ and ends with an HEA ending, then this book is for you.

Firstly, I'd like to thank netgalley and author Julie Capulet for the opportunity to arc read this book.

I was hooked before even reading, i love a good billionaire romance and this one did not disappoint. Dusty Rose is our virgin FMC and Cash Maddox is a billionaire with his own company. They have a one night stand without names, she leaves him the next morning and they go on with their lives. Until she's hired at her dream job and guess who the boss is. You definitely need to read this, it is such a beautiful story, he also helps her overcome a trauma. Can't wait for the stories of the other 3 Maddox brothers!

3.5 Stars!

Are you in the mood for a hot and steamy read? Then pick up a copy of Billionaire Boss by new to me author Julie Capulet. The story opens grandly at a resort in Hawaii and continues shortly thereafter in New York City. Due to Ms Capulet's descriptive words, I experienced the magical ambience of both locations.

As the title implies, this is a love story between a CEO and junior analyst.  Ace and Tex meet in Waikiki, spend a fabulous evening together, and go their separate ways in the morning. Never exchanging any personal information. They finally see each other again when Tex ends up working for Ace's investment company. They can't keep their hands off each other and falling in love happens very quickly. Ace's company is experiencing some intense financial issues and Tex's presence helps keep him somewhat calm.

I enjoyed this book, however, a little more story and a little less sex would have made it even better.  I found myself skimming over some of the repetitive scenes. I enjoy workplace romances and I look forward to reading the follow-up books that may be about Ace's two brothers or maybe Tex's sister.  This is the first book from the New York Billionaires series and it can be read as a standalone.

Complimentary copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley.

I could not stop reading this book. It hooks you in the first chapter and the main character were great. They come from two different worlds and for one night they forget about everything but each other. Then their worlds collide again a month later and all bets are off. Will Tex and Ace make it through a few rough bumps in the road? I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

After sacrificing and working hard from a young age Dusty is finally enjoying the benefits with a fully paid company trip to Hawaii. On the way back from catching her first wave she meets Cash and sparks fly but names don't. This is insta love book and Cash spends the next 80% of the book looking for, finding, and convincing Dusty to stay. The characters are charming and the banter is good. This is my first insta love romance and found it to be a very easy read. Lots of pining but limited angst.
This books is very spicy so if that is not you thing you might not enjoy this book. If that is what you are looking for this book will not disappoint.
This book looks to be the first in a four book series. I liked the writing style and the story enough to read the next ones when they come out.

This book was an easy and quick read, but I don't think it's for me. Firstly, the instant love aspect put me off. I don't find it realistic for two people to fall in love in just one night, and then on the second time they're together, he pays off all her loans and solves her family's entire life. I found it too cliché.

Secondly, I didn't like the fact that throughout the book, they only called each other by nicknames and never by their names. I found it too much because it seemed like they were living in a fantasy.

I think this part is more personal, but the dirty talk for me was just cringe. I didn't think it was well-written, and all the pet names he called her (baby girl, angel...) just killed the mood for me.

Lastly, I found that sometimes the dialogue became repetitive when switching points of view.

Despite this, I liked the bond of brotherhood among the siblings, and I would be willing to read their stories.

When Dusty meets Cash in Hawaii, neither is aware of the other’s real name, whilst both are attending a conference. When they part ways after one intense night of passion, they only know each other by the names of Tex and Ace. When they meet soon after, Dusty discovers that Cash is not only her boss, but a billionaire. No sooner do they meet, and Dusty discovers that Cash’s company is also at risk of claims being made of insider trader. She finds herself wondering if she can have romance whilst retaining the career she has long desired.
This was a fast-paced book, with plenty of intense adult scenes. It was a quick read, and the beginnings of an interesting series. I look forward to reading about Cash’s brothers.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Billionaire Boss kind of leans on the typical rich guy sweeps you off your feet trope. I normally enjoy these kinds of books in-between a dark romance or mystery because they can be cute and give a bunch of emotions that make you swing your feet and giggle. Not saying that this book doesn't have its moments but there were a few things that just didn't do it for me.

First the characters names Dusty Rose from Texas..... and Cash who comes from money and is a Billionaire CEO but his 3 brothers have typical names, but I guess Cash has to stand out. I did like their nicknames Tex and Ace I just wished their real names were a less bit corny.

There was quite a bit of repetitions in this book where a character would leave a note or voice-mail that is detailed in one chapter and then the next chapter its repeated word for word, I just skipped over those because I just read it in the last chapter.

Also this is a very fast paced romance. I know it mentions that months have passed since they last saw each other but him falling so hard and so fast and some of his mannerisms were borderline misogynistic. I was around 80% in the book where I really started to not like Cash because he was so overbearing. It wasn't like your typical in love with you book boyfriend it was more of I will not give you a voice or choice type of vibe.

The ending was nice and took it back to a much more lighthearted romance. Overall I liked the book but didn't love it, but it was a fast read that I don't regret. Thank you to Net Galley and Ms. Julie Capulet for the Advance Readers copy of this book.
